DesertClan (Roleplay)
Forum-Index → Roleplay → DesertClan (Roleplay)Sunkit exchanged a glance with Bramblekit. We need to hear this story!, said the look on her face. She had forgotten about the moss entirely and was listening to the stranger speak with Flamestar.
Dawnstar watched the exchange cautiously from the nursery, eyeing the new cat.
Ashpelt nodded and glanced towards the nursery. He continued to listen to the two cats curiously. Though he stayed close to his kits in case the stranger went hostile.
Dawnpelt wasn't surprised that Flamestar offered this strange old cat food, she knew her leader well. She didn't quiet trust this cat, but her interest was peaked when he mentioned the twoleg place. I'll need to speak to him before he wanders off, she thought.
Ashpelt relaxed slightly as the new cat seemed to be less hostile than when he first showed up. He then leaned down to his kits "Come on let's get back to the nursery we can finish the day when Flamestar finishes talking to this cat" he said in a gentle whisper.
Bramblekit looked like he was going to protest but he nodded in defeat after Ashpelt muttered something about a story.
Sunkit lingered before following behind her brother and Ashpelt. I wonder if we'll get to talk to him, she thought as she padded towards the nursery.
Ashpelt walked towards the nursery with Bramblekit behind him. He looked at Dawnpelt and purred gently. Bramblekit wen past his parents and into the nursery.
Dawnpelt brushed her tail along Ashpelt's side. " How did apprentice duty go? " she mewed, glancing at her kits as they filed into the nursery. " Seems your work got interrupted, " she said with amusement.
"Yeah that new cat came by and stopped us" Bramblekit mewled quietly and sat down.
Ashpelt purred "we'll finish the warrior's den soon" he meowed kindly.
Bramblekit nodded and flicked an ear "hey Ashpelt when was Flamestar a rogue?"
Dawnpelt smirked, " If Ashpelt tells you a story, you need to promise me you'll help him finish re-mossing the warrior's den. Otherwise, some warriors will be cranky when they go to sleep tonight," she said with an amused look.
Ashpelt purred and laughed "alright. Though of you fall asleep you can't help replace the moss in the den. You'll have to replace he moss in the nursery" he said warmly adding the last part as a false threat as he'd still help the kits.
Dawnpelt padded over to where Dusty was eating his thrush. He looked up warily as she approached him, " What? This is mine," he grumbled. Dawnpelt flicked an ear as she sat by him, " I'm not here to take your food - we don't do that in the clan," she said evenly. Dusty gave her a suspicious look before continuing to eat. Dawnpelt spoke up again, " I heard you met cats in the twoleg place. " she mewed. " Do you think you could tell me more about them?" she asked calmly. Dusty gave her an annoyed look. " They were dirty and rude," he said simply, taking more bites of his meal.
Dawnpelt flicked her tail in annoyance as she watched the black rogue cat eat. Perhaps I should try questioning him after he's full and content..., she thought. " If you think of anything else, I'd love to hear more, " she mewed, getting to her paws. Dusty glanced at her, nodding slightly, and resumed eating. Dawnpelt sighed and walked towards where Fallentree and Feathercloud were speaking. " So, picked up a stray?," she meowed.
Fallentree looked over to Dawnpelt. "I tried to ask him why he was on our territory, but he wouldn't listen to me" he said kindly.
" It's alright, he seems a bit...senile." Dawnpelt said, glancing at Dusty, who had finished his bird and was eyeing the fresh-kill pile again. " He doesn't appear to be a threat. But, he may know something useful about the rogue cats." she said, her tail swishing the ground. " Which brings me to my point - I would like you, Feathercloud, and Duskwind to go on a stealth mission into the twoleg place. We need know more about these rogues, " she said.
"I think Duskwind left camp. He looked kind of upset about something. He walked out of the elders den and into the forest" Fallentree meowed and tried to think of where Duskwind could have gone.
Sunkit's eyes widened, " Wow! He must have been a really strong warrior, " she said, imagining a lone cat fighting in her mind.
"Well he wasn't a warrior, but he was a strong cat." Ashpelt continued. "After the loner left the territory, the patrol returned home. Flamepaw was becoming restless. He wanted to be as strong as that loner" Ashpelt sighed and flicked an ear. "A few moons later, when Snowstorm, and I were kits, Flamepaw came to the nursery and said goodbye. He was planning on running away"
Sunkit gasped, " Running away? So he left to become a rogue on purpose?", she asked in shock.
Almost on cue, Duskwind padded through the entrance to the camp, carrying two desert rabbits in his jaws. The sun was low in the sky, casting long shadows throughout the camp. The orange light reflected in his Duskwind's eyes, as he wordlessly carried his prey to the fresh-kill pile. " Huh? Who in Starclan are you??," Duskwind meowed, as he saw Dusty grab one of the rabbits. Dusty's fur bristled as he carried one of the rabbits into the elder's den, casting fearful looks at Duskwind. Duskwind looked around the camp, baffled, hoping someone would enlighten him.
