Idk about jirou's school, but at my school we have electives. We have them in the morning for about an hour, then we can also have the choice to do one after school. The ones in the morning a more like 'art' electives or studying electives while the after school ones vary. They have things like chess club or tennis club. I'm not sure if it counts as an elective for after school, but the only after school one I do is yearbook. The morning ones will also change each trimester, but after school is year long.

so

i didnt realize that our assessment task was due today, it's 12:55am ohhhhgeez and i just finished it
sure its 55 minutes late, but i swear if they deduct 10% off my mark because its "one day late"

Honestly, I'm glad i'm sick right now. If my parents let me stay home from school, I should be able to avoid a huge project and get the weekend to do it. I tried to do it tonight, but it was impossible. Sure, it would be easier with the rest of my group- oh wait, they have done absolutely nothing. And I couldn't get them to do anything because I was stuck in another room taking a history test that I missed. And, you guessed it, by the time I had finished the working period was over. Great.

also I have failed 4 of my classes this trimester and wow! I can't believe how terrible I feel! I quite literally barfed and cried! how fun! I can't believe one of my favorite teachers was such a jerk as to not count the gif I made because I "had no proof" that I was the one that did the assignment! What joy!
