''this coming from a girl who'll die sad and alone cause of her sour attitude'' he said, looking down at her.
She watched as the city melted into the forest. They had walked a surprising amount and quite quickly, although Evie's mind had been wandering as usual and time wasn't passing by too slowly. The sun was still high in the air and honestly a bit too warm for her tastes. It was better than being stuck in a killing game in the winter, though. Everything was better than the winter. Plus we'll all by dead by winter.

Oliver sighed and just continued to walk, taking in the sights that surrounded them.
Ivy had slowed her pace a bit and practically stuck to Ellie like glue after Oliver invaded her space the way he did.
''this is why i said we should've left them..... the guy anyway..'' she muttered quietly to Ellie, tightly gripping the sleeve of his jacket with her still trembling hand.
Elli pursed his lips, refraining from glancing back at Oliver. "He probably just flirts with everyone he meets, like Evie said... I'll keep watch during the night, anyways, if that makes you feel any better. But I think it's worth a try," he murmured, matching her volume so that nobody else could hear.

she was still gripping his coat sleeve and kept her pace even with his, not exactly wanting to leave Ellie's side for the time being.
''how far are we going into the forest anyway?'' Oliver asked.
"It's advised that we locate a source of water as soon as possible," Evie replied, pointing her head up to look at Oliver, "but it'd be a terrible idea to camp right next to it. It's a large forest but there are a lot of other people here and it'd just be a bloodbath. Although we're rather strong in terms of manpower, so I don't think a cave or a hidden shelter is necessary--it'd be rare, anyways--since most of the other people that happen to stumble upon us would probably turn in the other direction or be overpowered easily."
"Although a decently sized group might be able to take us down if we're low in fighting experience and skill. I'm praying that isn't the case," she added, although she murmured this.

"No need to thank me," Elli said solemnly, tuning in on Evie and Oliver's conversation.

Elli paused in his tracks, nudging Ivy lightly to grab her attention. He led her past a small cloud of bushes and moss, pointing to a small overhang of foliage. The light breeze pressed into it, sending some of the looser leaves and ivy inwards as if it were into the mouth of a cave or at least a large overhang. "I think that's something," he said to her, although he wasn't too close. Evie walked up next to him, leaning in to try and get a better look.

''but i smell something metallic.... like blood.......'' she muttered, narrowing her eye's a bit.
Oliver came up beside Evie and kept his shotgun at the ready, in case he needed to fire.
Ivy pulled a flashlight out of her satchel and turned it on, pointing it at what Elli was pointing at and blinked, seeing that it was the entrance to a rather deep cave.
she then pointed it around the forest a bit and then at the ground, her eye's widening in complete horror.
''g-guys....!?'' she muttered, a bit strained as she reached over and grabbed a fist full of Elli's coat sleeve.
Oliver glanced over at Ivy, then looked down at where she shined the light and his eye's widened, becoming a bit pale at what was on the ground.
She glanced over at Oliver, who was scared, but seemingly the least scared. Elli was in shambles and Ivy didn't seem like she would break free of his coat sleeve, so he was her first choice. "I'm going to go check it out," she said bluntly, looking up at him. "Care to back me up?"
Evie pulled out her pistol and held it steadily in front of her, not even waiting for Oliver's reply. She walked up to the corpse, looking around the terrain and taking the others' shocked silence to her advantage.

''look.. he's arm and leg are a little bit away from his body... and it looks like he got stabbed brutally with a sword a few times......'' he muttered, shuddering slightly.
he lightly poked the luxes head with his foot and moved it a bit, seeing the horrified look that seemed to of been frozen on his face.
''this it the guy that spoke part of the note at the very start.... he must have tried to seek shelter here..'' he muttered.
"Hey, you two might want to ready your weapons. We don't know where they could be at," she said, noticing that Elli was still resting his sword on his shoulder. She glanced skyward, scanning the trees for any possible signs of life. Is there more than one?

Oliver sighed and kept an eye out around them, making sure his shotgun was ready to fire if someone tried to ambush them.

inside the cave a young male stayed hidden in the shadows as he watched the four outside the cave discover the corpse he left behind and smirked in amusement, amazed that they were actually staying out and not trying to come in, his two colored eye's gleaming in the darkness of the cave, but not enough for them to see.
his eye's were more adapted to the darkness that resided in the cave and he knew where to hide easily if they entered.
he sighed and glanced down at his hand, which bared the lux symbol that had been crossed out many years ago.
hmm... maybe i can let those four slide...... besides, i'm greatly out numbered, and one's got a shotgun, so i better leave them be... he thought, hiding a bit but still kept an eye on them.
Evie turned over to Oliver and put a hand on his shoulder, standing on her tiptoes so that she could actually reach his ear. "I'm going in," she muttered, knowing that she would be the first to be attacked, "can you cover me?" Evie, instead of waiting for a reply, drew closer to the cave with her pistol ready for attack.
Elli turned to Ivy with a pained look. "We should follow her," he said, tugging her lightly as he stepped over the bushes. He did his best to keep his gaze away from the body and gulped as he stepped around it, his face paling immediately. Elli slipped his hand out of Ivy's to hold his sword in a ready position as he followed Evie into the cave.

Oliver swiftly followed and brought up the rear, and kept an eye out on the entrance in case anyone else tried to enter.
the teen looked over his shoulder and he grinned a little, raising an eyebrow.
brave little twerps i'll give'em that... especially the blond girl..... hm, brave isn't the word for her... more like ignorant recklessness he thought, then silently went back to where he had his camp set up in the very back of the cave behind a few boulder's that shielded him from the wind.
A very small voice in her head, one that had been drowned out by years of hardship and tragedy, took Elli's side. Evie was fully aware of how reckless her decisions were but curiosity had overtaken her--it was a childish trait of hers that often led to trouble. The opening of the cave was rather narrow and didn't have any room for hiding, so Evie made sure that she was the first one to enter. If anyone was going to die because of her decisions, it would be her.
But you have something to live for now, Evie thought as she held her hand out behind her, not wanting to break her gaze. If something was heading her way, she was ready to dodge it. "Ivy, can you hand me your flashlight for a second?" Evie mumbled, scanning around.

''this cave is seriously creepy..... why did we have to stumble upon a cave like this....'' he grumbled quietly.
the teen soon enough made it to his little camping area and sat down, leaning back against the wall as he quietly sat his weapons aside and crossed his arm's, waiting for them to discover he was there.
"Y-you realize that you could be walking into a trap?" He mumbled as she nodded and silently crept towards the boulders, climbing on top of them and peering down. She had flicked off the flashlight and could easily see a short distance in front of her, glaring down at the teen with stern amber eyes. She aimed her gun at his head from above, about to fire as Elli flanked her. He gave her a bold, powerful look that stopped her from making the kill.
"That'd be an unjustified kill," he mumbled nervously, his eyes flitting to the pistol.
