Riddle Me This-
Forum-Index → Forum Games → Riddle Me This-I'm putting this in games since it's continuous rather than a one time thing >.<
This is an unusual paragraph. I’m curious as to just how quickly you can find out what is so unusual about it. It looks so ordinary and plain that you would think nothing was wrong with it. In fact, nothing is wrong with it! It is highly unusual though. Study it and think about it, but you still may not find anything odd. But if you work at it a bit, you might find out. Try to do so without any coaching.
Good luck~! I'd be surprised if you've never been told this riddle before >.<
Adam, Bob, Clair and Dave are out walking: They come to rickety old wooden bridge. The bridge is weak and only able to carry the weight of two of them at a time. Because they are in a rush and the light is fading they must cross in the minimum time possible and must carry a torch (flashlight,) on each crossing.
They only have one torch and it can't be thrown. Because of their different fitness levels and some minor injuries they can all cross at different speeds. Adam can cross in 1 minute, Bob in 2 minutes, Clair in 5 minutes and Dave in 10 minutes.
Adam, the brains of the group thinks for a moment and declares that the crossing can be completed in 17 minutes. There is no trick. How is this done?
Dave takes the torch with him, and he goes with Clair, after 5 minutes clair is at the end of the bridge, bob goes in, while Dave is in the middle of the bridge with the torch, after 2 minutes bob finishes, and Adam goes in, then after he finishes, they wait 2 minutes for Dave xP
So they cross in less than 10 minutes :b
So, in short: Dave always have the torch while the others cross the bridge while he's walking too.
Max here!
EDIT: I guess I found the 17 minutes solution:
First batch: Adam and Bob = 2 minutes
Adam returns = 1 minute
second batch: Clair and David = 10 minutes
Bob returns = 2
third batch: Adam and bob again = 2
so 17 minutes (why too many trips tho)
Max here!
Two girls ate dinner together. They both ordered iced tea. One girl drank them very fast and had finished five in the time it took the other to drink just one. The girl who drank one died while the other survived. All of the drinks were poisoned. How did the girl who drank the most survive?
