"Get out of my head, voice." 'But why?' "Because if you don't, it
will become very difficult for you." 'Fine then. I'm gone, but do
not hurt this child.' The voice was gone then, leaving Jack alone
with the baby. "Okay. I guess I will have to take care of you now,
little one." Jack scoops up the baby, carrying him with him.
Zorra tilts her head. She couldn't believe that just happened. It
seemed impossible. What was wrong with Jack? She summoned her
wings, continuing to follow, but by air instead of ground.
Jack arrived. "Here we are, little one." Jack stepped into his
cave. It was small, but that was what Jack liked about it. His prey
could not escape if it was trapped in here. "Do you have a name,
little one?" The baby remained silent, except for its inconsistent
burbling. "I believe human babies such as yourself need sustenance.
I will retrieve some." Jack leaped back into the forest, looking
for some fresh meat.
Zorra lands in front of the cave, warily inspecting the inside. It
wasn't much. She looks at the child, her eyes bright and intrigued.
She flicks a tail and launches into the air again, landing in a
nearby tree to rest her wings.
Tiny followed the noise and eventually came across the cave. She
went inside, and saw the child. "Who are you?" she purred. She had
never seen a creature like this. It was very vulnerable, that much
was obvious.
Jack returns to the cave, laden with meat. "Here you go." He didn't
notice Tiny. "Do you eat meat? If you don't I don't know what to
do." Jack sat down, gnawing on his own piece.
"I think this is a human baby. Should I find that tasty human again
for information on feeding this?" Jack indicated the baby, which
was now gnawing on some of Jack's old bones.
