Cass walked into the hall where her room would be. She found it and fumbled with her key for a minute before managing to open the door. Ahe walked inside and made a face. She looked around. She saw her roomate wasn't here. She picked the left side of the room and put her two suitcases on the bed.

The sun was not shining brightly today, but the snow that was laying like a blanket over every single thing had started to melt. Leonard tightened his scarf a little before draging a hans through his blonde hair. The scarf was checkered in white, brown and red. It had much meaning to him, since his mother had bought it to him on his last birthday together. 9 years, 3 months and 39 days exactly. Leo kept counting, ever since that day, when his life became something he never imagined.
Leo was nervous as he walked past the schoolbuilding. He knew that he was about to share his dorm with another boy. And thinking about it made him alot more nervous than just the thought of starting college. He only had one bag, filled with the most essential necessities like clothes, toothbrush and soap. He was carrying it in his left hand. With his right hand he held a golden-yellow, oval birdcage, carrying with him a silent humming-song.
"Tu as froid?" Leo smiled nervously down to Cricket as he was asking 'Are you cold?' in french.
(I don't know french, so pardon if it doesn't come out right, I use google translate.)
Ofcause Cricket didn't answer, but it didn't bother Leo. Just having him along felt good. As he walked the garvel pavement, he looked around himself to start be-friend his surroundings.

"Maou!" Mitch hollered as the chubby tabby barreled down the sidewalk. "Maou, get back here!" Maou paused at an intersection, and Mitch took the opportunity to leap for the cat. Literally. Mitch dived for Maou and snatched her soundly. Maou threw a hissy fit as Mitch forced her back into her cage. "Listen you little fuzzy-butt, I said you could come out if you were good. That," Mitch said, waving a hand around, "was not good!" Maou thinned as Mitch stood and began to take stock of his things. Luckily, nothing had been broken in the chase. He looked around a bit sheepishly, and realized that he had no idea where the dorms were. He had been lost before, and he was even more so now. He breathed a sigh of relief as he spotted a boy with a birdcage off a little ways away. "Excuse me!" Mitch called, jogging to catch up with the boy and praying that he hadn't seen Mitch's blunder. "Excuse me, do you know where the dorms are? I'm supposed to be in... 314, I think? I have no clue where that is." Mitch chuckled.

Leo froze in his steps as he heard someone excusing behind him. He stood quiet for a bit before turning around facing the guy. So that was his roommate? A small blush took it's place on his cheek, what a coincidence they ran into eachother here.
"Right this way..." Leo just mumbled nervously, with a rolling R on right. He put his bag down before pointing to the building several meters away. Leo didn't know if he dared to say he was the strangers roommate, but sooner or later it would appear anyway.
"I'm also in 314." Leo put on a small smile, trying to hide his jitter.

Among the wave of new students, one arguably stood out. A rather average looking guy with a bright red jacket and a baseball cap. Granted, it wasn't exactly winter anymore and the weather was getting warmer but a baseball cap was still hardly season appropriate headgear. Which was evident by the reddish tint in the guy's ears as they were left at the mercy of the chilly weather. The lad himself didn't seem to mind.

Aside from the odd choice of apparel, he was also lugging around quite a bit of stuff. On his back, he had a backpack filled with whatever it is that normal people need during their day-to-day lives. Additionally, hanging from his right shoulder, there was a duffel back filled with sports equipment, hockey to be specific. His skates were hanging outside the bag by the laces while a hockey stick was balanced on top of the duffel bag.

Precious equipment, obviously worn and loved, that Colt had worked his butt off to get and whoever dared to lay their hands on any of it would meet their end swiftly.

The equipment was also the reason he was pouting. The amount of snow was declining. Winter was dying. Which meant no more ice hockey for him soon. Way too soon. Why couldn't it be winter all the time? The cold wasn't that bad, people were whiny babies. Colt complaining about not being able to play ice hockey all year round naturally wasn't whiny in the least. Nope.

There was most likely no way he'd be able to play in any remaining games for the season even if he managed to wiggle his way into the team right away. But he could at least try to find as much time to practice as possible though. Silver linings and all that.

But to the actual task at hand: Dorms. Apparently he was on the second floor, which suited him just fine. What worried Colt was his unknown roommate. Hopefully the guy wouldn't be too bothered by Colt's rather unusual sleeping schedule. But with his luck, that wouldn't be the case and he could see a lot of arguments regarding the matter marring his future. How fun...

"Maou!"

A sudden shout had Colt stop dead in his tracks and lifting his head to locate the source of the disturbance. Turned out it was a guy chasing after something -a cat?- a little further down the sidewalk. Still unmoving, Colt watched as the guy got his cat under control and scampered off to bother some other student. He couldn't help but snigger at the brief incident, he'd take amusement where he could get it.

Colt got back to walking after a short moment, determined to ignore the cathunter and the other guy chatting away as he passed them by. However, he couldn't wipe his amused smirk from his face.

Cassidy stripped down the left side of the room and threw everything into a pile. She opened her suitcase and looked through jt to see what she had brought. She had brought all of her awards but not anything else. She sighed and sat on her now very plain bed and took out a small notebook she always kept with her and wrote down what she would need.

Emma slipped through the crowd, her suitcase rolling across the ground with a thrum. She pulled it into the dormitory building, and looked for her dorm. "Uhm.. 325, 325, 325..." She repeated under her breath, looking as she made her way down the halls. She finally saw the numbers. "Ah ha! 325." She said, straightening the beanie on her head with a small hand. She let out a sigh, adjusting the bag on her back, and glancing at her suitcase before slowly opening the door and noticing a girl. She smiled shyly. "H-hello...?"

"Oh!" Mitch chirped excitedly. "So we're roomies? Lucky! And after you tried to ruin my day," He said, raising Maou's cage so that he could stare her straight in the eyes. She mewled apologetically and rolled over. Mitch couldn't help but smile at her antics.

"Well, Mr. Roommate, let's get a move on!" Mitch declared, turning and marching towards the building Leo had indicated. Mitch quickly began to babble. "By the way, I like your birdcage, it's very fancy. Say, what's your name? I certainly can't call you 'Mr. Roommate' forever, ha! I'm Mitch. My friends call me Mitch." He chuckled at his own joke.

Leo couldn't help but thinking that Mitch was talking alot, he didn't seem shy at all. Actually it was a good thing, cause then Leo wouldn't have to talk much. He was not unsure about the language, but just a silent, shy boy. He used to think that about himself anyway. Leo looked at the cat as Mitch spoke to it before smiling back at Mitch a little.
"Thankyou." Leo looked at his own cage as Mitch complimented it. He remembered when he got it, a late christmas present from father. He didn't really want to remember that christmas though..
"Mitch, I'm Leonard.. Or, Leo for short." Leo couldn't really whipe that blush of his cheeks. If he had to guess, it was Mitch possitive energy that got to him. Leo started taking steps thowards the dorm-building, slowly. He was unsure if they were supposed to walk together or just.. Not? Leo felt awkward. He hated these situations. He just placed the eyes down on the pavement, waiting for Mitch to make the choice.

Mitch continued on towards the building, head in the clouds. "Leo, huh? That's a fancy name. Never met anyone named Leo before. Sure it ain't Leonardo?" Mitch giggled, then noticed that Leo wasn't actually keeping pace with him. Mitch pivoted slowly, brow furrowing. Maybe Leo was just shy or something, but Mitch was confused. "Hey, what's wrong? You coming?" Mitch shrugged his shoulder lightly towards the building, indicating that he meant for Leo to come with him. It was the first day and all, and the first day was the best day to chat people up and make some buddies.

Leo only blushed more as Mitch giggled at his name.
"No, it's Leonard..." He murmured softly, trying to hide his lightly red cheeks by staring at the ground. He had to keep himself together. He was not good of a socializer, especially not now. He had to be honest with Mitch, they were suppose to share room after all.
"Ofcause, I'm just slow!" Leo answered with a harder tone in his voice this time, trying to shake of all the abashed feelings. He wasn't really honest by saying he was a slowpoke, but he just couldn't get himself to open up infront of a person he just met, saying he felt embarassed and really nervous for today. He started to walk a little faster to get into Mitch phase. Cricket was humming soundly as he did.

Once Colt made it to his dorm room, it became evident his roommate hadn't bothered to show up yet. He wasn't complaining though, that merely meant he got the freedom to choose whichever side of the room he preferred. Though, to be honest, that wasn't much of a choice. Without spending more than few seconds to contemplate on it, Colt got over to the bed on the right side and slid his hockey equipment under it before dumping his bag on the floor beside it. Then he simply flopped face down onto the bed and propped his feet up by the wall.

He might as well take a quick nap while waiting for his roomie to drag himself to the small room.

"Alrighty then," Mitch replied, readjusting his grip on Maou's cage and starting to walk again, this time at a slower pace.

Mitch continued to babble as he and Leo made their way to the building. Upon entering though, Mitch excitedly broke off, running a bit down the hallway before backtracking and starting up the stairs. "314 is probably upstairs right? Yeah," Mitch huffed back at Leo's general direction. Mitch was obviously super excited. A dorm to himself (and Leo, and their respective pets)? Score!

Mitch hustled his way up to the op of the stairs, where he dropped his things and bent over, planting his hands on his knees and wheezing over dramatically. "Wow. Okay. Bad idea. Oh my gosh." Mitch tossed his head back and groaned, then stooped to pick up his things. "Remind me to not do that again," he said, plausibly to Leo, plausibly to Maou, most likely to himself.

Leo, who was some steps behind Mitch as he'd rushed up the stairs took it calmly, and laughed a little to himself as he saw Mitch strained face.
"Do you have the key?" Leo asked softly as he got up beside Mitch. He seemed like a fun guy, which was sort of a jackpot in Leo's opinion. To be honest, things couldn't really get better than this. Before knowing Mitch was so cheerfull, Leo had been worried about getting a snotty roomate. He looked around himself for their roomnumber, but it was probably further down the corridor. Right before the stairs was the door to room number 250. To the left of that door, 249, so they was supposed to walk to the right.

"Hmm, well," Mitch muttered as he patted at his pockets. Did he still have it on him? Yes, I do, he thought as he dug into his back pockets and dragged out the dorm room key. "Yep! Got mine. What about you, got it on you?" Mitch asked, curious. Hopefully Leo hadn't lost his key on the first day. That'd be a major bummer. Mitch rubbed the jagged edge of the key with his thumb, and thought about the contents of his duffle. Hopefully the matches were still packed properly, and all his jostling hadn't broken any glass. Those candles were very important, as were the matches to light them. Well, Mitch had gone through the city on the way here. Even though he hadn't seen one, maybe there was a Yankee Candles store. He'd love to visit it.

Leo put down Crickets cage before he started to fumble after the key in his jeans backpockets. As he got it up, he showed it to Mitch with a smile.
"Yup." He answered shortly before puting it back into his pockets, but the frontpocket this time. He picked up the cage again and raised it thowards their direction.
"314 should be this way." Leo started to walk slowly, so that Mitch wouldn't fall behind, hoping he had gotten back some energy efter running up the stairs.

"Hello. My name is Cassidy and I am your roomate. That is your side of the room. Goodbye." Said Cassidy as she got up and took her list and her wallet with her. She saw two bous walking up the stairs and stopped for a second. She looked at them and then continued walking towards the same stairway. She sat on the top step for a second to put the list on her phone so she wouldn't lose it.

"I-" Emma didn't get a word in before the girl left, making her look down sadly. She sighed, unpacking. She replaced the sheets on her side with black ones, and laid a black and white comforter over top. She set a few stuffed animals on her bed, and set a few items on her desk. Three notebooks, a bag of markers, a pencil case, and a small desk toy. It was a plastic zebra sitting with wide blue eyes and a small smile. She patted the head, before sitting on her bed, looking at her feet. "Does that girl dislike me...? I hope not..." She said to herself, letting out another fragile sigh.

While looking at her phone she realized the store was closed. She sighed and walked back to her room. She looked over at her roomates side of the room. She cocked her head and walked over to her desk. She began organizing her things according to class for in reason in particular.
