Maybe we or Staff would think of some creative way to make Darumaka (or rather Darmanitan) into Zen mode? (Analogy to Mega mode - so it would stay like that forever.)

Maybe it would be a Zen Stone or maybe it would be a trip to Zen Garden? Or maybe even something completely different? Do you guys have some cool ideas?

Bulbapedia article and this is how it looks

"If Darmanitan has Zen Mode as its Ability, it changes into Zen Mode when its HP drops to below half. Darmanitan in Zen Mode is blue in color, has Psychic as a secondary type, inverts its Attack and Special Attack from Standard Mode Darmanitan, and has boosted defenses and lowered Speed. Outside of battle, Darmanitan will always be in its Standard Mode. "

Oh okay I see, and so this would be a form changing type of thing then? Would it be activated by an item? Like with Shaymin form changing? Or would it be something that happens during battle?

If this did happen though it seems only beneficial if when we have the battle mode implemented, considering this seems to change the type and the attack. So this would be something that would matter in the future with the battle system, but for right now I can't really see the point except to look different.

Well there are already some other forms implemented, like: Deerlings, Unowns, Basculins, Burmys, Shaymin or Pyroar, so what is wrong with wanting to have all of them?
And in this case we could think of more creative way than just the same pokemon but with different name (like in case with Basculin(Blue) Basculin(Red) ).

And this is primarly a collecting site, not battling, so I wasn't thinking about battle benefits - I was thinking about one more Pokemon to collect. I don't see any bad sides of this idea, besides fun (if someone doesn't like fun, that is).

But a lot of those forms are like different pokemon. Unown isn't a form changing, you can change unown A into unown B, they are that letter (or symbol if you include ! and ?) Shaymin uses and item to form change, and it was an event so that was really special. Burmys again are different pokemon, you can't change trash to city they are just that form. Derrlings, again, are different pokemon since you can't change spring to fall here. They are that form.

This would be form changing, not making a pokemon different from it. What I mean by that is, Shaymin doesn't evolve into Flying Shaymin, it can go to and from Flying to Shaymin. Whereas unown can't go from B to A and back again. So that is what I mean by form changing.

I am not saying this idea is bad or anything, I am saying that this form change to me seems more like a battling strategy than a new pokemon. And that pokemon would have to have a certain ability to do this form change at that so this wouldn't be an item to buy or a season change. It would only be for certain Dramanitan with this ability and as far as I know Pokemon don't have abilities yet.

I support this suggestion and agree with the Zen Garden idea. Maybe have a high level Fiery Furnace to get it?

Queen_Pumpkaboo: This pokemon is very similar to Mega Evolution pokemon and Shaymin. It can only change form in battle and changes back once out of battle, but yet the Mega Evolutions have been released as a permanent evolution and an item has been released for Shaymin that can keep it in Sky Form, so why not this one?

Well as I said in first post, this situation is similar to Mega Pokemon - which originally change their forms only in battle, but we wanted to collect them, so they are "separate" pokemon here :P That's how I would like it to be with this Zen form too. It's just this, and I don't see any reason to discuss whether it is a Legendary or not?

Edit: Thanks Diana, you were faster xD

Edit2: Fiery Furnace is good idea because Darmanitan is a Fire type, but I was thinking, maybe Beach? Because Zen Gardens are sandy and rocky?

I am grateful that people posted before I finished my post XD They said what I wanted to say without sounding as harsh in the wording :p

That said, Support for reasons already stated.

And if you want to continue on about "in the games you have to do X" let me just say a few things to you:
Espeon
Umbreon
Sylveon
Deerling

All of these are done very differently than in the games. This means that something can be done differently to obtain this form as well~

Oh so this would be something that you want as a permanent change and not something that goes back and forth? I think anyway.

Okay, that makes more sense to me, as apposed to having it change in battle and then go back to being normal and then changing again when we don't even have a battle system.

But, just like mega evolutions and shaymin would this require an item since pokemon don't have abilities? Or would it be like the eevees and be a rumble location like you mentioned the fiery furnace? I like the idea of an item so I can give it something to hold like shaymin, or like mega evolutions, but if there isn't an item in the game then going to an area might be best. But if they go to an area and transform would you be able to get the pokemon out of zen mode?

And I am assuming when we get the battle system this will still affect the battles like it does in the games with the stat switching and such.

See, the reason this wouldn't need an item like the Megas and Shaymin, is because it doesn't in the game. In the games, you need a Mega Stone for the Megas and need a Gracidea for Shaymin, but for this pokemon, you just need low health. I don't know how that woulld translate into this site, though, so that's why the idea of it being like the three Eevee-evolutions was mentioned.

The way things work on this site is different from the games, but still follows the cannon, for the most part.
