I'm really late
I started venting after what happened with the forced Hiatus
don't let me listen to mystery skulls again
it's such a heavy wip I just don't want to show it
Edit: Sky, maybe try doing a sort of pointed semicircle shape, and do it all over the body? just a tiny bit darker than the rest of the body, it will look better, I guess?

I have done the same with traditional drawings before and it takes forever and is difficult to remain consistent throughout the whole body. I guess I can try it and get rid of it if it turns out uneven tho. Thanks~ :D

Use a textured brush!
Just simple create some sort of scribble/pattern and then draw normally, it'll then create a texture depending on your pattern.
Remember that you really don't need to see each individual scale, just a good texture will give off he right look :)
