I got Pokemon X first thing this morning!

I. Am. In. Love! This game is absolutely stunning! So far I only have a Braixen and Charmeleon, but I plan on getting either a Trapinch or Bagon, and an Absol. There are soooo many Pokemon! I'm used to only having three or four on a certain route, and it seems like there's more in Pokemon X/Y. I'm having a hard time what to catch and when to catch it. xD

Oh, and Braixen's animation is awesome. For those who didn't choose Fennekin, you know it takes that stick out and (for mine at level 22) uses it for Ember? Then spins it like a boss before putting it back. <3

Does anyone know how to get to Route 8? I need to get past that Zubat cave, but Route 6 is blocked. How do I go around...?

Also, anyone know if there's a Vs. Seeker available, or any other way to rebattle trainers? That would help me out a ton!

And...How do you use the Pokemon Amie? I've been waiting for someone in-game to show me, but nothing has popped up. The one time I actually want a tutorial! D:

I CAUGHT A SHINY LIEPARD! I have him on my main team now. I am working on Super Training him as well. (I am so happy that I had just gotten the Master Ball! I never use it on the Legendary anyway. This was my first Shiny that wasn't guaranteed to happen [e.g. Red Gyarados] in several years!)

Considering the fact that my Braixen evolved into Delphox while I was in the third gym, I think it's safe to say that the opponents in this game have a much higher level curve.

MurderVictim - I don't remember completely, but I know that there were two Zubat caves and you could only go through the one to the south. Does that help at all? As for the VS. Seeker, I don't think so, because I already have six badges and there's no sign of one. Pokémon-Amie can be accessed from the touch screen at any time outside of battle - the arrows on the top of the touch screen allow you to switch between Super Training, Pokémon-Amie and the Player Search System. I hope that this helps! ^^

EDIT: Oh, and if anyone is wondering how I got six badges, it is because I stayed up until midnight to download the game immediately, and then didn't stop playing it except to sleep for about six hours.

But then you'll finish the game really quickly! It won't last you more than 2 months if you hyper play it like that! You'll slowly stop playing it and find other things to do, and, overtime, leave it on the shelf or something. Yeah, there is lots to do, but everything has its end.. You're using up all the greatness! In the beginning you enjoyed it too much so your ending will be a rather distasteful one. Balance of the Universe! >.>

True; I should slow down. However, I would like to point out that my White 2 game lasted me several months, and I played it very quickly as well. Also, I fought someone with a Xerneas over Wi-Fi earlier, meaning that I am not the only one to have gotten this far.
Speaking of the version mascots, how many PokéBalls did it take everyone to catch theirs (with the obvious exception of people who haven't caught theirs yet)? Yveltal only took me one PokéBall, and it was a Dive Ball, meaning it had no special bonus under the circumstances of the battle. I didn't expect it to be that easy to catch, although I am very happy that it was! It is the second-lowest leveled Pokémon on my team, only above my Liepard, who is one level lower. |D

I really liked the plot about it. Also, judging from how closely it tied in with Yveltal's abilities, I would be slightly surprised if X had the same plot; I am fairly confident that Xerneas doesn't do the stuff described by Team Flare.

@MurderVictim, Pokemon-Amie is on the bottom screen. You press the L and R buttons to scroll through, and you can access the Super Training as well from there :3 I love it more than I think I should :P

@catiecast: D: That sucks! If it's a money issue, have you considered the new 2DS? I don't know much about it, but it plays 3DS games without the 3D, and is cheaper. I don't know if it can do anything else, but the lower pricetag is pretty cool! xD


Anyway, out of curiosity, what is everyone's teams so far? (Or teams you hope to have, for those who don't have the game, yet).

Here's mine:

Braixen (male; lv 29) - Nicknamed "Ronny"
Charmeleon (male; lv 28 ) - Nicknamed "Ryker"
Absol (male; lv 28 ) - Nicknamed "Chance"
Helioptile (male; lv 28 ) - Nicknamed "Milo"

I'm shooting for catching a Goomy next. I wasn't going to at first, then I got a good look at Goodra...And I fell in love! I kicked out my Bagon (which had kicked out the Trapinch I was going to catch), so I wouldn't have a team full of dragons. For the final spot...I'm thinking of adding an Aron. But I need a water type, or a Pokemon that can learn good water moves. D:

I don't know where all the Pokemon are, so making a team is hard for me. I normally have the Pokemon I want picked out before I even get my starter. xD

MurderVictim - I haven't seen any Bidoof yet, so I don't think they would be possible to use as HM slaves early in the game. I'm not sure what would be good, though, since I scattered HMs around my team.
Liirah - Awesome! I will add you in a moment.
Also, does anyone know how to get Rock Smash? I still haven't gotten it, and the fact that I can't get to the areas blocked by breakable rocks is really bugging me...

Ow, you actually should have gotten it pretty early. You get it from a random NPC outside the Aquarium, I believe.
Also, Bidoof can be found on one of the first Routes already. :0

Which route is it on? I battled more in some areas than others; I hadn't found a single Staravia on the route before Reflection Cave until after I had caught Mewtwo!

Should be Route 3 (also Route 22).

Yeah some of the Pokémon are really rare - I had a pretty hard time finding another Bagon when I accidentally defeated the first I encountered. |D

Oh! I know why I didn't find them, then. I didn't know Route 22 existed until I had all eight badges and went to see what was on the other side of the Victory Road gate, and I didn't battle very many Pokémon on Route 3.

I actually only teach my main Pokemon Fly and Surf, sometimes Waterfall if I need to. I save the others for slaves. Cut, Rock Smash, and Strength are all pretty weak, and I don't want them stealing a move spot. I wish HM moves could be forgotten easily. D:

I ran into one Bidoof early on, but didn't think to catch it. And I wasn't even thinking of Rock Smash! I need it xD I had no idea that I had to get it from an NPC...Luckily, I'm not too far away from the Aquarium.

I'm trying to catch every Pokémon when I get on a new Route and talk to every single NPC as they often gift you random crap things .. so yeah. xD
