Still at the park, she watched as the lady started to walk around, as if she was expecting someone to come. Akio stood there, probably looking like an idiot. Her feet refused to move, no matter how hard she tried to. She sighed, and closed here eyes. Maybe, she'll just leave soon.

Briar sighed with relief, thankful that the two were listening. He turned to face Desire, who was 10 feet away from him and holding her gun by her side. She looked very determined at whatever she was planning.

"Please come with me, sir." Desire demanded with force. She held her gun confidently, hoping the alien would be stupid enough to think it was real.

Briar exhaled deeply and examined his hand, watching it become slightly blue. He looked back up at Desire and gave a smirk. She couldn't tell if it was of kindness, or because he found this amusing. She came closer to Briar and sighed. "Please-" She couldn't finish, as Briar has shot a shard of ice at her gun, sending it flying. Briar let himself become cold as his fingertips became white and blue. Desire gasped and growled, reaching for her knife slowly.

Popilo reached Briar's house, taking out a key her friend had given her months ago. She opened the door, and ushered Kasai in, closing the door and locking it behind her, terrified. She let go of Kasai's hand, leaning against the door, sliding down it slowly, putting her head in her hands.

Desire pulled her knife out quickly, lashing out at Briar. Briar deflected it with a quick flick of his wrist, making a hunk of ice that made a horrible sound when the metal blade hit it. Desire growled, backing up. She lunged at Briar, cutting his arm. Briar grit his teeth, pushing Desire to the ground with great force, making her hit her head. His eyes flashed white with internal rage, although his face was serious and focused, as he created a dome of ice around Desire, spikes thrusting forward from the inside at her. They stopped only inches away from her body as she lay there. Briar looked at the dome and huffed, turning around and going to the sidewalk.

Popilo sat there, knees pulled up to her chest. She cradled her head with her hands, shifting her weight. Sniffles and hiccups could be heard, and tears dripped onto her shorts, making them wet. She hoped Briar was okay, she hoped Kasai couldn't hear her pitiful state, she just... Hoped.

The house wasn't bad, but it also wasn't very cheery either. The curtains were closed, making it dark, and the furniture looked as if no one had ever sat in it.

Briar came up to his house and hope he would hear the girls if he knocked. He walked up the stairs to the porch and knocked on the door lightly. "Hey, it's Briar." He said, his low voice barely audible through the door. He tried calming his hands down before presenting himself, but his hands were still blueish and freezing cold.

Popilo jumped up, wiped off her tears, and unlocked the door. She opened it, letting Briar into his own house. "Are you okay?" She asked, concern lacing her voice, and worry visible in her eyes.

Briar seemed overwhelmed by the girls and took one question at a time. He looked to Popilo first. "Yes, Poppy, I'm alright." He said, pulling his shirt sleeve down quickly to hide his arm, knowing Poppy would freak out. He looked to Kasai. "No, your fire would only harm my hands, as the ice would melt and ultimately melt my bone structure. It will go away soon." He breathed, looking around his own house. "She won't be bothering us for a while. But we need to stay alert. They've been quite nosey lately."

Briar motioned for the girls to follow him into the living room so they could sit, and he could talk to them. "Poppy..." He didn't know where to begin, he almost felt bad for having to explain to her what they were. What they were born as. "Come sit, I'll tell you guys what the deal is." He said.

Desire swore like mad, trying to find her phone without touching the spikes. "My phone, my phone..." She croaked, picking it up at last. "I need backup immediately, I repeat, I need backup immediately." She said frantically, trying to stay calm. "We are sending help." It replied. Desire sighed with relief and rested her head back, avoiding the spikes at all costs.

Popilo was confused as she followed him into the living room, sitting lightly on the couch. She glanced at the two, knowing they knew things she had no idea about, being the naïve little teen she was.

Briar sat in a chair, cracking his neck as he prepared to speak. 'Oh god, why us...' He thought to himself in a bitter voice. "Poppy, you obviously saw what went down over there... A woman in a uniform, a gun, motorcycle, etc.. Those people are dead set on making their race pure again." He said calmly, his expression grim. "We can be safe, but only if we live in secret and with accepting people. Those people are far from accepting." He hoped she would catch on.

Akio ran. She ran until her lungs hurt and still, she kept going. She needed to find the guy that was in the park a coupe of moments ago. Who is she? What does she want to kill all half-breeds?

Stopping to catch her breath she saw them through the curtains of a small apartment building. Taking a deep breath, she lightly knocked on the door.

Realization hit Popilo like a train. "So th-they want to hur-hurt us over our... Genes? Li-like it's our fa-fault! Those... Th-those..." She couldn't finish. Her emotional side took over, making her look down to her lap, crying silently. The only noises heard were hiccups and sniffles.

Briar heard the door and perked up. Hold on, Poppy." He said calmly, getting up to get the door. He first peaked through a window close to the door, pulling the curtain back a bit. Dogs barked behind him from the other room. He opened it slowly, seeing as it was a seemingly harmless girl. He looked at her, thinking her recognized her from the park. "Hello, can I help you?" He said, his cold eye tracking her emotions to check for guilt or suspicion.

The barking in the other room went crazy, possibly due to Popilo's crying. Suddenly, a door in the upstairs swung open, and paw clicks were heard rushing down the staircase.
