She didn't face him, surprised he was out so late, and worried
about more trouble. "Look, my story is complicated. i know my
parent, but she probably won't claim me. i don't feel like talking
about it. maybe in the morning." Instinctively, she hid her wings
in her jacket. "Artemis. Cabin number 8. yep, see ya in the
morning." She yawned, then winced remembering her shoulder.
"Unclaimed kids go to hermes, you want me to show you where that
is?" Keene asked. He paused noticing her wince. "Are you hurt?" he
asked, genuine care and concern in his voice. Best to be the one to
extend the olive branch.
"Of course its protected. Its just bad manners to leave someone out
alone in the dark. Especially someone whos new." Keene said, matter
of factly. He prided himself in having pretty good manners.
"oh, ok." She shrugs her shoulders. "it's ok though. i think i'm
gonna stay out here a little longer. the fresh air is nice." She
was hoping to spread her wings for a bit, they were sore from not
being used. She didn't feel like telling them about her wings yet.
<I'll tell them in the morning> She decided.
"Alright, just stay close to the Hermes cabin. There will likely be
someone around if you get lost though." Keene reaffirmed. "Have a
nice night." He gave a joking half bow, before making his way to
Ares cabin. When he arrived, he curled up on his bunk, with his
back to the wall as he always slept, as though trying to block out
the world.
"Thanks." She smiled, noticing the bow joke. <hmm..i like him.
he's nice. i wonder if the other ares kids will be just as nice as
him...> "maybe i should see Chiron...." She spread her wings and
flew into the air. "Ah...the sky is nice tonight."
The next morning she woke up, way too early. "ugh, i'll just do
some training.." She went over to the training area and started
throwing shurikens at the dummy. "can't wait for breakfast." she
said as a shuriken went soaring into the dummy's right knee.
