''oh i can name a few times, Wither, this being one of the times
cause what if an entire army shows up here cause of what you
just stole!? you basically put every single angel, demon, and
familiar in danger cause of that stupid airship!'' he said enraged,
his yelling causing a few of the other war rebels to look in
they're direction.
Magnolia glanced around a bit and seemed to shrink, covering her
head with her hood.
"They're untraceable, Tony, and most of the territory that we
meander in is uncharted by both sides," she said, her eyebrows
furrowed challengingly but her tone calm. "I've worked with the
strategists to hack into their databases and record this specific
airship as destroyed so I doubt they'll come after us." Wither
stopped herself from throwing out names--so far she hadn't done as
much as mentioned Magnolia's, not wanting to get her involved.
She broke gaze with him for a brief second to glance at Spectrum,
who flinched when Tony yelled. Kaleidoscope pointed her muzzle at
the ear of the angel and the two slipped out of the scene, Spectrum
sinking back in what seemed to be fear. Wither was glad; she didn't
want to let poor Spectrum see her lover in such a mood. What's
worse is Magnolia is here to see me like this. Wither shoved
the thought to the back of her brain--there were bigger matters at
hand and her undefined relationship with Magnolia had nothing to do
with it.
Wither didn't add anything else--she had the facts to back herself
up but Tony was in an incredibly explosive mood and she didn't have
the persuasive skills to make a full argument.
''i really didn't want to do
this....'' Aqua sighed and climbed down to the ground, then
shifted form's and stood.
before Tony could even react or say anything else, Aqua grabbed a
hold of the back of his shirt collar, pulling him away from Wither
and pinched a nerve on his neck, easily knocking him out.
she then looked around at the rebels watching and growled
quietly.
''quit your gawking and go back to eating!!'' she shouted, causing
a few rebels to either jump or flinch before returning to they're
meal's.
Magnolia blinked and looked at Aqua, a little surprised.
Void began glowing violently as he leaped to his feet, his ears
pinned back and his teeth bared. "She's fine," Wither said quickly,
putting a hand on Void's head to calm him. His blazing eyes
narrowed and flitted between Aqua, Tony, and Wither before he
dipped his head slightly in a nod and sat back down, still glaring
at Aqua. Wither's mind was now spinning and her thoughts were
sliding on top of each other. She was speechless and very, very
glad that Spectrum was not there to witness what had happened.
She looked at Aqua, who she had only seen in human form a couple of
times, and took a deep breath. She's the second in charge,
Wither reminded herself. Still, Wither wasn't quite sure if Aqua
agreed with her. "I, uh... okay then. Should we... move him?"
Aqua easily hauled Tony up over her shoulder and kept a hold of his
leg's, being a lot stronger than she looked.
she looked at Wither and sighed, pinning her ear's back
slightly.
''i'm sorry for how he acted Wither, he's got a mega migraine and
couldn't get much rest.... resulting in his behavior just now.....
and poor Spectrum, she looked terrified...'' she sighed, putting
her free hand over her face.
She huffed and rubbed her temples, "I'm just glad she's not here to
see this. She's so hopelessly in love with him, that must've killed
her..." She looked at Tony and crossed her arms, not quite sure
what to say. At this point, she wasn't even surprised that Aqua
could carry him so effortlessly. "Are you going to bring him to the
infirmary?" Wither asked, softer so that she could avoid the ears
of the rebels around her.
Kaleidoscope slipped onto one of the chairs, Spectrum nowhere in
sight. She blinked sharply upon seeing Aqua in her human form, her
ears perking up in surprise. "Is he
alright?" She asked softly after realizing that the two
were calm.
''yes, i'll be taking Tony to the infirmary so the medic can do
something about his headache'' Aqua said, flicking her tail
slightly.
she then looked over at Kaleidoscope and smiled, nodding as she
chuckled.
''yes he's fine Kaleidoscope, go tell Spectrum that Tony did not
mean to frighten her'' she said, then turned and hauled off to the
infirmary.
Magnolia sat up after she relaxed and sighed, pulling her hood back
down before deciding to check up on Dark. ''everything alright back on the airship bud? we'll be returning
soon enough'' she said to her companion telepathically through
they're bond.
she was replied with a whimper that echoed in her head before Dark
replied. ''y-yeah... but..... i-i locked the
door... i'm.. freaking out...... b-bring a big blanket,
p-please.....'' he said shakily.
Magnolia blinked as she listened and got up, looking at Wither with
a worried expression.
''something has Dark spooked, he closed and somehow locked the only
way in so we need to go through your mirror'' she said, quickly
heading off to Wither's room.
"Y-yeah, I'll... I'll try to reassure
her. She's a tad bit shaken, but I think she's taking into account
Tony's current state." Spectrum's ears swiveled and she
looked back slightly when Magnolia spoke, worried for Dark. Her
nose twitched and she almost asked if she could come along, but
refrained herself in fear that it was too personal. She had her own
companion to worry about, anyway. She sighed and hung her head,
leaping off the bench and padding back to Spectrum. She made sure
to look both ways so that nobody could see her enter a different
room.
-------
Wither nodded curtly, stuffing all of her concerns and questions to
the back of her mind and walking beside Magnolia to her room. She
pulled the key out of her dress pocket and swung open the door,
closing it back when Magnolia and Void walked in. Wither knocked
her parasol away from the mirror, where it was leaning, and rested
her hand on its surface. It rippled and her hand passed through,
allowing it to become a transportation. She stepped to the side and
nodded curtly at Magnolia to motion her to go first.
Magnolia walked over to Wither's bed and pulled the blood red
blanket off of her bed, seeing that the blanket was pretty big and
folded it before hurrying through the mirror with it.
she stumbled a bit and started glancing around, breathing a bit
heavily due to panicking a bit.
''Dark? Dark we're back, where are you?'' she called out.
there was a faint whimper and shuffling at the front of the airship
in the shadows of the main console, Dark's prize from the mission
laying nearby
''u-under... the main
console.....'' Dark told her telepathically.
Magnolia perked up and hurried over to the console, kneeling down
and freezing when she spotted her companion.
''n-now i see why you wanted a blanket.....'' she muttered, her
face flushing a bright red as she covered and wrapped the blanket
around him before Wither had a chance to catch up.
"Go," she urged her companion, impatient in her worry, "I have to
hold it open for you to go through. Only works with my touch." Void
silently glanced into her eyes and leaped through the mirror, his
features illuminating as they entered. He padded to Magnolia and
tilted his head so that he could see Dark underneath the console,
his features squeezing in thought. Wither stepped through the
mirror, her parasol at ready, but lowered it upon seeing Magnolia
kneeling. Her blush confused Wither and she mumbled a soft "What's
going on?" before kneeling too. Her facial expression was washed
away and replaced with surprise.
"Has... this happened before?" She asked, her head turning slightly
when she saw Void leap through an orange-rimmed portal.
he looked up at Wither and pinned his ear's back, his gaze full of
fear and confusion.
''W-Wither, if this did h-happen before he wouldn't be needing the
blanket to cover up with'' Magnolia said as calmly as she could,
obviously rather flustered.
Dark shifted around a bit to where he could sit down and made sure
he stayed wrapped up, then slowly seemed to gain his composure
again.
''i am in need of some clothes.....'' he muttered, somewhat
embarrassed.
Void stepped through the portal again and it closed quickly behind
him. In his human form, he lumbered over both Magnolia and Wither
but seemed confident enough in his movements that they didn't seem
robotic or stiff. He crouched onto his haunches and in front of
Dark, offering him the pile of dark-colored clothes in his arms.
His face was reassuring and soft, but his constantly glowing eyes
were always unsettling to any emotion that was plastered on his
face. It was the most prominent feature, and to most it was
intimidating.
"Most creatures consider it a gift, having a human form. With
companions, even more so. It takes quite a bit of getting used to,
and I'm not even able to move as swiftly or confidently as Aqua
with years of practice, but it's quite a nice feat to have once you
get used to it." He offered Dark a smile and turned around to look
at Wither, who was trying her best not to stare at him in shock.
Dark looked down at the clothing Void gave him then looked back up
at him as he listened to Void.
''i wasn't able to change forms... i never had that ability, i was
simply a winged demonic wolf..... i never needed to practice'' he
said.
he pulled his hand out from under the blanket and looked at the
palm of his hand, seeming to space out a bit as he became lost in
thought. Kali...... i'm glad she isn't here to see me like this....
he thought to himself with a sigh.
Magnolia got up and headed off to go to another room in the
airship, now needing some quiet to try and process the current
situation.
"Most aren't born with the ability, but there's... no reason to be
afraid. It takes a lot of getting used to, but it's quite alright."
He stood and turned to the door. "I'll be able to, uh, let you try
to get dressed. Most of that is loose so you don't have to deal
with buttons and tying and stuff." Void exited the room and when
Wither stepped out she closed the door softly behind her, looking
around the hall. "Where'd Magnolia go?" She mumbled, looking
around.
Dark sighed and managed to crawl out from the main console and
picked out the outfit he wanted and tried to get up, using a
flatter part of the console for support.
''stupid human legs.....'' he growled out of irritation.
~~~~~~~~~
Magnolia had gone to one of the cabin's on the airship and was
laying face first on the bed, just wanting to hide and relax.
"Are you going to look for her?" Void asked, already knowing the
answer. His ears pinned back and he leaned against the wall, his
arms crossed. Wither sighed and rubbed her upper arm, looking over
her shoulder and down the hall. "Yeah. But I don't want to leave
Dark alone. Can you... stay with him for me? And tell me if
anything's wrong?" Her face was wrinkled in worry but seemed to
relax a bit when Void nodded.
As she walked down the hall, making sure that her footsteps could
be heard so she didn't startle Magnolia if she found her, Void
spoke. "What if she wants to be alone? Otherwise, she wouldn't have
left." He added a quick, "Obviously," under his breath.
Wither looked over her shoulder and shrugged at him. "Then I'll
leave her alone, I guess." She kept walking and Void hung his head
in contemplation.
It took Wither a while to look through the rooms, but she finally
found Magnolia face-down in an empty cabin. She tapped the door
lightly with her knuckles, leaning on the doorframe and waiting for
her permission to enter. She was silent for a while, not quite sure
what to say, but settled with a simple, "Do you mind if I come in?"
Magnolia perked up and looked over, seeing Wither in the doorway
before rolling over and sat up.
''y-yeah..... you can enter, did i freak you out when i
disappeared?'' she asked, brushing a bit of hair behind her
ear.
~~~~~~~~~~~
after some trial and error Dark managed to get his balance and got
himself dressed and was checking out his reflection on the
windshield and thought for a moment.
he had changed the long dark colored sleeveless shirt's color to a
solid white with a small spell and was happy with the look. huh.... i don't look to bad actually...... maybe i can get used
to this he thought, grinning a little now as he gained some of
his confidence back.
Wither strode over and half-sat on the end of the bed, crossing her
legs and looking at Magnolia. "Of course. Too much has been going
on, and losing you certainly wouldn't be better." She took a deep
breath and her eyes became concerned and softened. "Are you doing
alright? I'm worried," Wither said, hugging her elbows close to her
chest.
