Hello all! I'm that girl with too much time Mituna! :D

Here's the back story to what I'm doing here:

A while ago I was looking to play pokemon on my laptop to pass time, and I was really hoping to find some nondownload DS games, but instead found PlayR games, which has a bunch of old games from the Gameboy, Gameboy Color, Nintendo 64, etc. I started playing Pokemon Crystal version because why the heck not. Then, as I was looking at the pokedex, I thought to myself "You know, these pixely pokemon wouldn't be hard to make in paint..."

So then I went to paint, and discovered there was no square brush on Windows 7 paint. But did I stop there? NO! I went and used the eraser! After my first success, I decided to keep going. It's stupid, pointless, and mindless, but for some reason I like doing it. ^-^

If I could, I would turn them into sprites, but shrinking them down just doesn't look right.

And for you nonbeliever (and I know there will be some), I swear I did not simply take a screenshot, blow it up and recolor the pokemon. That would be even more stupid than what I'm already doing. And if you really don't believe me, go look at the originals yourself. If you look close, not all the pixels are perfect squares, and I promise you, mine are, because otherwise this stuff doesn't work (I know. When I get off even a little bit, the whole thing is ruined and I either have to go back and figure out where I went wrong, or restart.)

So I hope you all will enjoy this! I'll be posting them every so often (Definitely not in order or regularly), and I'd appreciate some comments or whatnot!

One last note: Although I'm not going in order, I'm getting all the unevolved pokemon that I have in my pokedex so far done first. I do NOT have a full pokedex on the game, so there might be long delays where I have to play the game for a while, fill up some more of my dex, then get back to my eraser Painting.

Starting with my starter! :D

@Death: I did consider that, but I noticed the spriting area was a lot of request shops, and I didn't want to get mistaken for one of those. Besides, as you can see these sprites are a lot different from what people are making over there. If I get told that this should be moved over there, I'm perfectly fine with that, but to me, I personally consider this more fan art than spriting.

Title: Gastly

This was both the biggest pain yet the easiest for counting the pixels. With the little cloud around him, it took ages because I couldn't just surround the area and fill it (yes, I cheated with the fill bucket sometimes with large areas of one color), but because there were a lot of individual pixels, it made it easy to count how long the streaks were (like the black along the body).

Sorry if this doesn't make sense. I have terms I made up in my head to talk myself along what I was doing. ^^U

Title: Hoothoot

Well, this is all for today. I have plenty more already done, but I want to pace myself because one of these guys can take anywhere from hours to a few days, depending on how busy I am, my motivation, how complicated it is, etc.

There was a time I thought Hoothoot was a psychic type. When I found out it was normal and flying, I was actually a bit disappointed.

You know, if you're using Paint, set the second color to the color you want to use, and use the eraser tool (because it's square). I used to use Paint for drawing, too. ;)

Trying to use the square tool or the paintbrush.... *shudders* that would be so much harder. I'd have given up long before now.

Nice sprites! Great job, they're amazing. ^w^ I love the Gastly.

I use PlayR to play Pokémon Silver. And Pixlr isn't so bad for spriting, but sometimes Paint is better to use. :)

You know what would be cool? If you did the newest Pokemon in this style or maybe Unova. Nice spriting, though.

Title: Geodude

Okay, Geodudes have always been my PITA on the games because they're annoying and show up in EVERY tunnel, and half the time won't let me run. Not to mention in this game, they have no pupils. Just creepy, blank eyes (*cough*for Homestuck fans, my geodude in the game is named Dead Dave *tee hee*)


@Diana: I considered doing that, but it's a lot less mindless than looking and copying. Maybe once I'll try that sometime, though. No promises on the result, since I zoom in a lot and look at one piece at a time.

... Or maybe I could figure it out on graph paper, then do it on paint... <.< >.> ^_~

D'awww~ Ain't it just adorable? This is probably one of my favorite non-starter grass Pokemon. Maybe I'll hoard them someday... ;3

Title: Rattata

Okay, this is it for today. Gotta love these little buggers, huh? I remember when I use to freak out when a level four one popped up... Ah, those were the days...

One last note: my grandparents are coming for a few days, so I probably won't be on much, if at all. Thus, no posting or creating for that time. They leave Friday afternoon, so there maybe something really late Friday server time, or early Saturday server time. Otherwise, I'll post some Saturday my time (hopefully).

Title: Zubat

Man, how have I not posted this guy yet? xD (In case it's not obvious, I love Zubats~)

Also a note: In a little less than two weeks now, I'll be headed to college. Which means I'm not sure what will happen to my activity on this site or making these not-quite-sprites. I'm flying out of state, so the days before I go I may just disappear without warning because packing is going to be insane. I'll try to keep getting on, but no promises about how busy I'm going to get when school starts, either.

Title: Togepi

Awwwe~ Ain't he just adorable?!! He's actually quite small in comparison with the other pokemon. (Especially Onix, which I may post next).

Oh! And so ya'll know, I was suggested to try this style on some newer pokemon a few posts back. Two things:

1. I tried it on graph paper! It was Turtwig, and he looks pretty good~

2. There's a few issues with this: If I were to transfer to paint, he would be the size of one of those mini-sprites that you would see in the party list on an actual pokemon game (or the ones that show up next to the train button here). Also, I'm trying to be true to how this style is, which means I only use two colors besides black. With Turtwig, I just made the yellow parts brown, but with a lot of the newer pokemon, that won't work. Imagine doing Siglyph or some pokemon with a lot of different colors in just two colors. It seems the Unova especially are pretty colorful. So if I do some newer pokemon, they may be small, and/or they may not be true to the original style.

And if I post any, it will be after I finish all of these, probably.

BIG FREAKING POKEMON! In the box that they show the pokemon in in the pokedex, I'm pretty sure this guy goes top to bottom. And I love doing the little scale thing in Diamond with huge pokemon like this guy and the legendaries. xD

Sorry I've been procrastinating posting these. I only post the pictures when I get on my laptop, and a lot of times I'm just on my tablet. Work on these has been slow, too. I've been on the same sprite for a few days now. Just not feeling the inspiration...

Great job! I love all of them, but I love the Zubat the most! >.< How could you not love those adorable eye-less Pokémon?
And I'll be heading off to start college-level stuff, too, and it's going to be irritating me that I won't be on here that often. D< But I'll make sure to keep playing in your RPs and watching you make these awesome sprites!
