The data shouldn't me more than 1GB, so even if it's relatively small you should be ok. When I get back from work I might be able to put up a video about it or something that explains how to do it.

Okay so since Skype is unfortunately blocked on my home wifi network thanks to parents, I can use rabb.it instead to demonstrate how to backup your save data for Splatoon if anyone is interested.

Have you tried clicking the option to let it format the memory stick's memory? Or is it just not big enough?

Open the settings app on the wii u menu, and scroll over one tab to "Data Management" and tap on it. It should start up data management and give you two options: the first one will say something along the lines of "manage system memory" (or at least it will let you copy/delete files on the system memory). The second will say something along the lines of "Format USB memory" and if you tap on it with a memory stick inserted into the Wii U, it will take you through the process of formatting the memory stick so it can save data files from the Wii U. (You don't really need to do anything, it just explains that it will format the stick's memory and tell you to tap another button.)

After you format the system memory, you can then select the other option in the menu that lets you copy/delete/move data files. Tap on your Wii U's memory and then find the icon that says Splatoon. Press the button that says "Select items" and select Splatoon, and then press "Copy". It should copy the save data from Splatoon to your memory stick. The process will take roughly 3 minutes to complete while it copies the data. You shouldn't need more than 1GB of free space of your memory stick to do this, I don't think Splatoon save data is more than 800MB. Most USB memory sticks will have at least that much, you'll probably be just fine.

When it copies over, just turn off the Wii U and take out the memory stick and you're good to go.

I googled how much Splatoon data is and Nintendo said that it was around 1815 MB.

I hope my stick has enough storage for that :'D

But thank you for that, I will try it out.

I played some ranked battles and there was no hacker.

I knew there was an 8 in there somewhere at least. :')

As long as you don't leave before the hacker does if you do encounter it, you should be safe anyways. It's pretty rare to encounter, especially considering that only one person seems to have hacked it.

I'm sure that if I encounter him I can just play a few more matches after to get different people appearing in my palaza. But my dad says if I encounter him when it's my last match (when he wants me to turn the Wii u off). He will force me to turn it off, resulting in my save being corrupted.
