Jow's clans rising (FR)
Forum-Index → Fanmades → Fanfictions → Jow's clans rising (FR)On the last Flight Rising registration window (2015-07-20) I joined the site. I swore my allegiance to the Lightning flight, started with designing my first dragon, a female Mirror, Jow. And since then, I can't help but imagine her journey in this flight, expanding her clan, getting treasure, growing cubs and other stuff you can do in the site.
So I finally decided to make it into a fanfiction, a story of her clan.
Because of that, please do not write in this tread!!!
This is also my very first try at writing a story, so please be nice.

Declaimer: I don't own the dragon species or anything else from the Flight Rising game used in this story. They belong to the their respective owners.
The shadows moving, shifting and always changing over her were pretty irritating. Sure the two huge Guardian dragons didn't mean any harm, and she sure as hell wasn't scared of them, but the constant reminder of their advantage in size annoyed her endlessly.
Now she was a fine specimen of her species, already about 6 meters in length and weighting about 710 kilograms. So in no shape or form was she little, but the Guardians still surpassed her. However, she did outmatch them in beauty. The only downside was that she didn't have any spectacular genes to go with the beautiful blues of her skin. But that could be fixed on a later basics, now that she became an adult... witch is why she was in this predicament to begin with.
While a cub, you could go around any region without a care, no one would ever bother with you. She used that opportunity, traveling alone until she ended up in the Wind Flight's territory from Plague, where she was born. By then she reached her adulthood, thus needing to join a flight. She didn't like the idea much, so kept avoiding any align. That is, until a few days ago..
A few Wind dragons attacked her, having magic on their side - won. That was one of the perks of serving a dragon God, having an elemental magic. Without it, you couldn't really call yourself a true dragon. After such a shameful event, her pride didn't give another choice, but to join someone.
The hard part was who: the Plague was simply awesome, not to mention her original home, the Shadows Flight looked amazing and she had an attraction to darkness.. But she chose the Lightning flight, because it looked like a mixture of both, the deadlines and power, mystery and striking fear into others, just like her personality.
Getting there proved harder than she thought, having to hide and run her way through the Wind and Fire Flights. But when she got there, well, seeing a God certainly was something...
The Guardians that led her to the massive domain of the Lightning God Stormcatcher didn't look anything out of the ordinary, except for their eyes. They were glimmering in the dark of the cave, an odd electric blue color talking up the hole eye, the proof of their align and magic of lightning.
The loud roar of thunder caught her attention as they entered the throne room, the lightning was storming around untamed, illuminating the room, while casting shadows at random places at the same time. Then a massive chunk of rubble moved, only when the huge blue eyes opened did she understand it was a humongous head of a dragon.
'Stormcatcher..' she silently thought and bowed her head together with the other two dragons. The action felt really strange, since it went against all her principals.
Then a loud voice boomed from above.
"What is your name, Mirror?"
"Jow"
Surprisingly, everything went smoothly. She was accepted into the Flight, given some treasure and food to start her own clan. Even a place to make a lair. As a Mirror she should've declined, since they never had a permanent place to live, preferring the lifestyle of continued movement. But she found herself accepting the deal, maybe she just was an odd ball, or something.
And that's where they were headed right now, to a cave in Highland Scrub, while her eyes glowed in vibrant blue showing the beginning of her new life, the start of her clan.
So that lair wasn't as great as Jow first thought. Actually, it was horrible, trash, rocks and trees littered the hole space, there were holes everywhere, even the water was unclean, spurting from wrong places. Yes, the lair was a total disaster. But a Mirror could clean that up, hell it might have been worse.
She slowly started clearing out the space, clogging the holes with laying and blocking rocks, in the uncovered room, made two nests from branches and wire, also laying around as rubbish. The blue dragon repaired the streams way, directing it to one of the bigger holes. Like that the lair looked better and better with every hour spent at work.
Little did she know, that her every action was traced by equally electric blue eyes. Those eyes kept on widening from surprise, the female seemed to handle herself quite well. The Mirror moved massive boulders around like nothing and showed her wonderful craftsmanship in making the nests.
He accidentally made a nose of surprise when the female threw away some dirt in his direction without looking. However, even that tiny sound got the females attention. She looked towards, but his presence was covered by cactus. That's why he had quite a shock, when she addressed him.
"Y'know I can see ya, right? Everybody knows Mirrors can see body heat, so move yer butt out of there!"
Her tone gave away the females annoyance, so he complied, not wanting to anger the other more.
"Sorry for my rudeness, I meant no offense," he apologized.
She didn't even glance at the new dragon, already on her way back to the cave. That wasn't very smart, turning your back like that to a newcomer, she left herself completely exposed for an attack. She ether was very cocky or foolish, nether being a good quality.
"Don't care. Say what ya want or get lost."
Now she was the rude one, but he decided to ignore it for now.
"Well, I am known as Solo. If you have spared me a minute, you would have known I am a Tundra breed and.."
"Get to the point!!" Jow interrupted him.
" ..was fascinated by your performance. Because of that I would like to join your clan. I would advise you not to act rash and think about my offer," Solo calmly finished his proposal.
This time the female looked at him, her eyes studying his form for a minute before she sneered.
"Che! What use of ya would I have? None, that's what!"
Now Solo was staring to get annoyed, too. This seemed to have been a bad idea, but he decided to give her one last chance.
"I thought I told you not to rush your decision. Why do you not try to think about it? From what I see, you know nothing of this land, nor how to survive in the dragon society. I, however, do posses such knowledge."
The female seemed to be taken aback by this. She looked down to the ground, finally thinking. Everything the Tundra has said was true, but Jow didn't like accepting it. Furthermore, there had to be a catch. She looked up back at him.
"What's in it for ya?"
"A place to live, a clan to belong to."
"Ya won't try ta become the Alpha, will ya?'
"No, I will not," Solo answered shortly and blankly. He couldn't understand the use of such obvious and unnecessary questions. But they seemed to make Jow feel better.
"Good. Then ya can stay, but I got one last condition."
"Well, what is it?"
"You'll have a nest with me," she stated very serious. But the other didn't seem to be thrown off by the idea. However, he did show a little bit of curiosity.
"You want me to be your mate?"
"No, I want cubs and that's it. If ya agree - go help out, if ya don't - get lost," with that she went back to the lair.
Solo ended up following her inside, he definitely wasn't disappointed. What he had seen from outside didn't do any justice to the roomy space inside. Jow, she finally introduced herself, had already cleared five rooms besides the main one and the nestling grounds.
He helped the Mirror to finish up the last five and the hoard, before acting out her condition. They ended up with two Lightning eggs and lost of amusement from his part, just confusion on Jow's. Apparently the female didn't know that the outside of the shell counted on your Flight, so that the children would be born with the magic already inside of them.
"Only those eggs that are lost and hatch not inside of a nest are Flightless," he calmly finished explaining.
Jow nodded, accepting the given information, even if most of it didn't make any sense to her. The Tundra went outside, to the main room, stopping when he noticed the other wasn't following.
"Are you not coming? I thought you would like to know your surroundings a little better."
"And ya want ta show me?"
"As a matter of fact, not very much, but that was what I promised."
"Che. Ya are a fine jerk, y'know that?" but she went after him regardless. Her steps were uneasy, she really didn't want to leave her nest all alone. If Solo noticed he didn't comment on it, instead picking up the pace.
"Firstly I'll show you the gathering places, then the Shops, Playgrounds, Scrying Workshop and Library. You should act more polite towards the dragons we will meet, otherwise you might have trouble in the future."
"As if I'm scared of that!"
"Maybe not, but wouldn't you like to get easy Treasure and free items?"
A look of wonderment passed her features "Ya can get all that?" she asked, not believing Solo at all. He didn't turn to look at the Mirror, but confirmed it.
"Yes, once each day if you are polite and nice to them."
