The kits started a little battle of their own.
The patrol kept a sharp lookout for anything, Stormhiss in the lead, Daypaw keeping a better view from above, and Ambereye trying to scent any enemies nearby.
(Okay, backstory time: They don't have parents. They were the kits of a kittypet who ran away from her twolegs and tried to live in the wild, but one day caught a sickness that she couldn't heal. She was so sick, she barely had any life left, and she didn't want to abandon her kits, SO, she heard of a wild Clan living nearby, so she gave her kits to the Clan right before dying. Their dad is a rogue who abandoned them, but they don't know that... yet.)

Ripplecloud fell asleep in the nursery. Waterkit and Silverkit continued to play, and Lunarkit just padded over to her corner and closed her eyes.
Nightwalker looked over at Ambereye. I hope she's okay...

Stormhiss saw the second border was clear. He moved onto the others. If there's a rogue around here, I might as well snap their neck. He thought sarcastically, yet with frustration.
Ambereye bit back a growl. I'm terrible at this! She kept her head low, until a small scent hit her. ..I can't tell what that is, fox dung! Could it be--
"Fox!" Daypaw called down to the patrol from above. He spotted a large one wandering through the forest not too far off. "It's kinda far, but also kinda close...?" He mewed. Stormhiss gave a nod. "Thank you, Daypaw. Let's leave it alone, but if it gets near us, we'll just have to defend ourselves." He said. The apprentice nodded and jumped onto a low branch.

Ambereye walked with her ears flat, trying to get a scent of the fox. While they were walking a strong smell forced her ears to prick up in surprise. It's fresh... Just after that, a large fox stepped in their way, growling with its claws unsheathed. It lunged for Stormhiss, clawing at his belly. He hissed and struggled, but was pinned down. Ambereye ran to try and headbutt it off of him, biting at its throat.

Ambereye sank her fangs into its neck, slowing it down.
Daypaw narrowed his eyes, staring at a hole at the edge of a clearing just a ways away. He could hear small barking. It thinks we're on its territory. He thought and looked down at the fight, afraid to watch/help.

Ripplecloud rushed over to Stormhiss. She quickly scanned his wounds. "Are you okay?" She said, worriedly.

Stormhiss shook a bit of mud from his fur. "Yeah. I-I'm fine." He glanced at the fox that Ambereye was clawing and hissing at and ran to help.
Daypaw gulped and looked down at Nightwalker fearfully. He jumped down and stared at the fox, letting his claws slide out. "B-But it's only defending its territory... if we leave, we'd be fine..." He stuttered. I'm scared of foxes anyway.
Ambereye ducked as the fox swiped at her head. "We might as well kill it!" She called to the apprentice.
(I just realized first she's caring of enemies and now she's careless... imsostupid)

"Okay." Ripplecloud said. "Let's drive this fox out."
"What are you. Scared?!" Nightwalker threatened. "If you don't show me what you can do, you'll never become a warrior!!"
