Well this idea was on pokefarm before; but I really liked the idea even if it's already been done.

So my idea is a place where people can enter in event sprites for Riako to see. And if he likes it he can save the sprite and make it into an event later. I know this probably isn't needed yet as Riako probably still has a lot of ideas but I think it would be cool to have one of your sprite designs to end up around the site.

Event sprites would be considered pokemon sprites that are modified so that they look different but the original pokemon can still be seen,

I have nothing else to say in this, so please kindly accept this filler sentence.

I'm not sure what to think about this. Seeing it as a User, it's an awesome idea for Users to suggest their ideas. But from a Spriter Staff point of view, this means a lot of work to us.
1. Look through all the sprites.
2. recognize what the sprite should show (or the theme of the event) - I know some people lack spriting skill.
3. Decide if the idea is good or not
4. Turn their sprites into event-worthy quality sprites.

In my oppinion, I'd rather have the users PM us with their suggestions. This feature would have several rules, like proper format etc. and some people won't pay attention to this = more work for us (lol we spriter staff fail format as well...)

MegaShadowSamurott: Could you give some reasons why you don't support? This could help improving the idea.

Something that just came into my mind: I am afraid this feature would start a lot of flaming like during the Chat quiz. Something like "This is so unfair, why didn't my sprites get chosen? Nobody chooses my sprites!" If you know what I mean. A lot of us experienced the crying during the chat quiz.

Oh I was not a part of that but I see the problem that would happen.

Well, i dislike this idea because it would basically turn this into another PokeFarm, and i've had enough of that site (meaning i'd quit this one if it was approved)

Personally, I think this would be a neat idea, if implemented differently than how Pokefarm did it. (They are very strict on theirs, and don't go based on just ideas, but the quality of the sprites and other factors, or so they say)

I think it'd be neat to be able to sprite some ideas and be able to submit them, but at the same time I understand the risk of people whining if their ideas aren't used.

I can also see people getting irritated if their ideas were used, but not in the way they planned for them to be used. ((Like, let's say three users submitted ideas for one event, but you don't use any of them because you were already going to release an event of a similar idea. All three of them would think that it was their idea altered, if it looked even similar to any of them))

So, my vote is against this, even though I think it would be neat to see.

Um... I kind of argee what Mirej said on this one. Pherhaps a page where you could format a 'form' to PM to a spriter for an event?
Of course, and a set of rules to come with it?
I'm leaning towards no support, but you can still change my mind.
1. (Mirej) Spam, even if there were rules. You know, there are some rule breakers on threads.
2. (KitKat and MegaShadowSamurott)Pokefarm. No, don't throw out the offence, but like Kit said, they are strict.
3. (Mirej)Well... Yes, it would be cool, but adding extra work on the spriters that they already do comes off to me as.. Well...
4. (KitKat) And irritation, as in this event was released that looked like what someone submitted with tweaks, they would think it's theirs and... then... 1, 2, and 3 combined there.
(The names are for who originally submitted the ideas.)

I have to agree with MegaShadowSamurott. The majority of people on PF just submitted horrible sprites (as seen in the Rejected Sprites thread) in the hopes getting theirs accepted and being able to show off to everyone that their idea is widely used. This does nothing good for the Spriter/Sprite Accepter, it only wastes their time. Even the ones who got accepted and used were pretty bad.

In other words, no support. I like how Riako hires certain people to sprite depending on their existing skill. This makes sure that the events this site gets stay good quality.

Adding on to what Diana said: Not only were the sprites bad, but combined with the really unfair staff, which at the same was really strict, you get nothing out of this idea

I don't support for reasons stated by MegaShadowSamurott and Diana.

No problem. Looks like no support so could a staff member please lock this thread? That would be great.
