Yes, I know that some similar suggestions have been made already about adding more steps to the tutorial, but I was thinking of a more in-depth one.
You see, the fact that the tutorial only covers a small part of what you can do on PH makes many newbies stumble around looking for new things to do- and consequently are thrust into the functions of some pages on PH without any introduction to it.

So- here's the main part of this suggestion:

-It would be nice for newbies if a JavaScript popup (like the one that pops up when selecting pokemon for the daycare or when Lorelei tells you something in the berry garden) with some text about the page would appear on their first visit to that particular page. (There could be multiple steps in the popup, with screenshots with diagrams illustrating the function of each feature on the page.)

-Another thought I had is something that may overlap with the previous suggestions about the tutorials, but it would be nice if Oak introduced you to PH by redirecting you to each key page with short dialogs about those pages. The thought above this would activate only for the pages not introduced in this feature.
After the tour is finished, the window could show a list of handy links (e.g the Price Check forum, the 'Does it break my chain' page, the Guides forum, etc.)

-An addition to the first thought: A small dialog that shows the importance of stickied threads, since some people obviously ignore those threads and post on a forum while not aware of breaking a rule in the stickied thread for that forum.

I'm open to any other ideas and improvements for these ideas.

Quote from Dakar-It would be nice for newbies if a JavaScript popup (like the one that pops up when selecting pokemon for the daycare or when Lorelei tells you something in the berry garden) with some text about the page would appear on their first visit to that particular page. I don't really agree with this.
There could simply have a certain page with topics where all the available functions on PokéHeroes would be explained with texts, images and whatever else needed.

Popups such as the ones from Daycare and Lorelei with a bunch of information don't look really good for me.
I think a popup would be used just as a reminder for something, with a small text letting the player know about something.
If you want to make a complete explanation about it, there should be a page, not a popup.

That's my opinion tho but in general is a nice idea.

Hmm- that might be a problem. However, I'm pretty sure the Wiki has a complete explanation for each page, so maybe a link to the Wiki might help.

In fact the PokéHeroes Wiki explains pretty much everything about the game, there's even this section (Help) there if someone can't find some information regarding a subject.
In that case, it's all a matter of searching for it.

If it looks like the Lorelei pop-ups, it sure will look great. I like it, support. o3o

Support. Is that from FlightRising though? When I first registered into FR, I didn't know what do to. Those Pop-Ups there in FR was of great use ^^

This was actually way back from when I had no clue of what FlightRising was- if I remember correctly, the Berrygarden had recently come out and I loved how the popups worked.

EDIT: Oops, apparently I'd registered on FR one month before I made this suggestion, but I'd hardly used FR so I doubt I'd have remembered any details.
