Our fur is thick and blends in well with the brown-gray of the mountains, as well as protecting us from the icy cold. We have powerful haunches, allowing us to jump from rock to rock and kick any dangerous predators that hunt us just as we hunt them. Our paw pads are tough, our claws hard and sharp, perfect for gripping the edge of a rock. Our lungs are powerful, accustomed to the thin and freezing cold air.
We have learned to hunt big horn sheep, eagles, hawks, and other large prey. Hares and mice, whenever they do appear, are easy prey for us. We have learned to fight back against wolves. Us cats are the rulers of this terrain, and we have proved it.
Our cave is a large one, and we do not separate each other through rank. We huddle together for warmth during the night, kits and elders in the center. At night, we set up a few guards to watch for danger. A river runs through our cave during newleaf and greenleaf, and during this time, we stay on perches above the cave.

Silverstar stands on a high ledge, feeling the crisp leaf-fall breeze ruffle her fur. Her blue eyes study the vast mountains before her, the morning's cold biting at her and keeping her awake. Flintpelt should be awake any time now to set up the patrols; although leaf-fall has only just begun, and the river had receded, they need to be fully prepared for amother harsh winter.

Flintpelt woke up and sighed. She got up and shook out her fur. She yawned as she padded out of the den. I hope I didn't oversleep.. I still have to set out the patrols. She looked up at Silverstar. "Hello Sliverstar." She nodded in greeting. "Did you sleep well?" She asked her leader.

Willowfeather woke up, belly side up. He flipped over, and stretched, he walked out of the den, and sat down and began grooming himself. Willowfeather walked back into the den, noticing they were low on some herbs. He looked at Wishpaw, who was still asleep, and sighed. Going outside again, he walked up to Silverstar.

Shadewhisker awakens to the sound of voices. Groaning quietly, his mind immediately reminds him of the day's activities and he rolls over onto his feet, yawning widely, pawing blearily at his unkempt fur.
