...Oh...well mine are soaked...and those astronaut things and still chasing us. We should battle them and hope they don't have any electric or grass types. Oh great! Veilstone! You go run and do whatever you need to. Catch something like a Starly...they're common. I can deal with a 1 v 2.

Robert walked off of the boat after making the long ferry ride from the Kalos region to the Sinnoh region. He could have started his journey in his homeland, however the place held bad memories for him. Both of his parents were hired by a group called Team Flare on a science project, but they never returned from it. He needed a fresh start to help him move on.

Taking out his Pokedex, he opened up the map function that would lead him to Professor Rowan's lab. He wondered what the trio of Pokemon the professor would have to offer him were like. In his land, they were Fennekin, Froakie and Chespin. While he was sure the fire/grass/water trio was a set thing in all regions, he wondered how different these would be.

Entering into the lab, he was greeting by the professor and brought to a room in the back. There, the professor released the trio of Pokemon: a lazy male Turtwig, a rather self-conscious female Piplup, and a laid back and rather fun female Chimchar. Robert smiled and looked over each one.

He couldn't really see himself with Turtwig. If he didn't want to do much right now, how would it react when there was a fight? Piplup, he could foresee her causing trouble with other Pokemon he would come across. But the Chimchar was friendly and, watching as she jumped up onto his shoulder and was acting rather friendly with him, seemed the perfect fit. He rubbed the Chimchar on her head and smiled. "Well, looks like you know how to choose your trainer. I'll name you Freya." the boy jested before handing his region's Pokedex to the professor to have it updated with the Sinnoh Pokedex information and full map.

With his new partner on his shoulder and receiving the Pokedex back with Freya's and five empty Pokeballs, the young purple-haired trainer headed out to begin his journey. He would be unaware, however, of the presence watching him hidden within the sky.

"Onix! Dragonbreath!" A grunt shouted and aimed for Cris' Piplup. Dodge it and use Bubblebeam! "Use dig and trap Piplup! Then we'll use it to complete our project!" Return Piplup! Cris saw a ferry coming towards Veilstone. He ran to the pokemon center to heal his Piplup.

Robert began heading towards the first city on his map: Jubilife City, which took him along Route 202 as the first stretch of wild lands on his journey. he could feel the subtle breeze as it blew in from the west, causing the tall grass to rustle about with it.

About halfway through the route, a young Shinx popped out of the grass, chasing a rolling oran berry. Robert stopped and smiled, finding it to be rather cute and playful. however, a small flock of Starlys didn't find the Shinx to be very cute at all when they started attacking it to try and steal the berry away.

"Freya, use Ember!" the trainer commanded. Jumping off of his shoulder, Freya began to rain fire down upon the Starly flock. The Starlys soon turned their attentions on the Chimchar. As the Starlys came in on Freya, the Shinx managed to bring itself up to its feet and unleash Shockwave, a move it was born knowing through breeding. The Starlys lit up like Christmas trees and soon took off, leaving the trainer and Chimchar with the very injured Shinx.

Robert knelt down and rolled the oran berry over to the Shinx's mouth. "Here. Eat this." he spoke to the Pokemon. The Shinx saw the berry and instinctively began to munch on it, giving itself some recovery. The Shinx was far from out of the woods, but at least now she wasn't near death's door. There was no way he could leave the Shinx along on its own in the wild. Taking a Pokeball, he tapped the button onto the Shinx's head, drawing it into the ball. The ball shook once before clicking and confirming. it seemed the Pokemon had no qualms about being captured by the one who saved her. However, he'd need to bring her to a Pokemon Center once he got to the next city.

"Skipper, Water Gun!" Navi's Mudkip shot a forceful stream of water at Onix, and hopped onto Navi's shoulder, who ran as fast as she could to the nearest town. There's no way we can take on an Onix yet, even if Skipper IS a water type, she thought. We haven't even started training.

As Cris got to the gym a group of 5 Starly and Gligar came. Cris sent out Piplup and they battled. "Piplup! Use Bubblebeam on all them! Then peck the most damaged!" Piplup followed the command and only 1 Starly and Gligar were left. "I need more pokemon...go! Pokeball!" And Cris caught the Gligar and Starly

"Torchic!" he called out a good night before vanishing into the pokeball.
Yua smiled before running up to Cris. "Lead the way."

"We might try to get attacked. So it's good to keep out Kasai. Go! Gligar! Check for bad guys. Try to come back if you find them." As Cris and Yua ran, a lightning bolt struck near them. "Oh great... it's raining. I hate rain!" "Hand over your Torchic. We took your friends Gligar." "That's mine you bi-" "Hand over your other pokemon. Or shall we have a double battle." "Yua, up for a double battle? You can borrow my Starly for it."

Yua grinned. "Nah, I'll be okay with Kasai. He just can't use Ember." she said with a shrug, twirling her partner's pokeball between her fingers.
She smirked. "Perfect. Gives us a chance to perfect his other moves."
