(Fair enough c: Also about the kind of sucky intro: hehe i'm bad at writing intros X3)

A bush rustled nearby, startling a few squirrels into their tree homes. Out of the brush came a rather confused and dazed-looking teen. He was slumped over slightly and his mouth was turned down in a frown. He rubbed the nape of his neck and straightened his back. "Where the heck am I?" he asked; to no one in particular.

Sawyer was in a thick, dark forest; but by the few patches of sunlight filtering through the leaves, he confirmed to himself that it was daytime. That was a generally good thing to know. He let out a sigh and his thoughts slipped out of his mouth: "Now to find my way out of this place so I can know where the heck I am."

(I'm kind of bad at writing, though. Don't worry :3)
Fallow leaned on a nearby tree with a fuzzy pillow in her arms. Her head was bent a little bit, so her nose touched the oddly colored pillow, so she re-positioned herself just as she heard a confused voice. Baffled, Fallow looked to the side only to see a boy with messy hair the color of butter. Oddly colored butter, though. The pillow shifted, and a koala leaped out of her arms and nudged her hand affectionately.
"OHMYGODWHATTHEHECK!" Fallow said, staring at the koala. It's a koala. A koala... Fallow hesitantly put her hand out to touch it. It relaxed at her touch, but Fallow was still frightened of the long, sharp claws that it had... She shivered and looked away. The koala crawled up to her shoulder, hugging her neck like a tree branch. It seemed so familiar with the motion, and Fallow was surprised it didn't choke her the least bit. It stayed on her shoulder as she walked towards the boy (he surprised her, as he looked like Slenderman with the position he was in). "Hi." Fallow's voice was surprisingly soft.

The girl's voice startled him. He jumped and turned. "Wh-who are you?" he asked, the shock eminent in his voice. Sawyer calmed down once he saw that it was just a girl. And a little, gray, fuzzy thing on her shoulder. A koala? Sawyer furrowed his brows and leaned his head forward to get a better look at the koala, obviously not realizing how rude this would be at the time.

"My name is Fallow." For some reason, she knew her name. The words unintentionally slipped out of her mouth; for Fallow, it was simply a reaction. For the past Fallow it meant almost nothing. The koala's ears twitched and it crawled onto Sawyer's shoulder, affectionately pressing its nose against his cheek. "It knows you." Fallow stared at the koala.

Sawyer smiled, trying to shed some light on the situation. "Sawyer-- my name is Sawyer," he replied, holding out his hand for Fallow to shake. Unfortunately for him, the koala decided to climb up his arm (causing him some discomfort) and crawl onto his shoulder. He looked at the koala in confusion. How could it know me, when I've never seen it before?

"Nice to meet you, Sawyer. Do you have any idea where I am?" Fallow asked, the words spilling carelessly out of her mouth. She didn't like the idea of talking to somebody. He looks okay. The koala's tongue licked Sawyer's cheek, like a dog showing affection to its owner. It then leaped over to Fallow once more, tossing her red curls around slightly, and perched on her shoulder. "I don't know this koala, either," she said quickly, although stroked its ears. It smells like fruit, Fallow thought with amusement.

"Not one idea at all, regrettably," Sawyer said, looking around. There were trees to his left and trees to his right; trees ahead and trees behind him. As Fallow spoke once more, he was quick to reply. "Well, it is cute."

"More strange than cute." Fallow stroked the koala's head. She glanced at its closed eyelids, furry and warm as it slept clinging onto her. It's strange. Like how if some people were apples or bananas, this one would stand out. It's a kiwi.

Sawyer nodded. What was this koala doing here anyway? It didn't make much sense -- heck, it didn't make any sense at all. What confused him even more was that normally, he would be somewhat alarmed that there was a koala who acted as if it knew them both, but in this case he was just confused.

Fallow shrugged. Her head hurt. "I don't remember it. Or you... oh, sorry. That came out the wrong way. No offense." She spoke quickly. "I really don't remember anything," Fallow muttered, but it was more of a whisper. The koala leaped out of her arms, making her squeal and jump in surprise, and landed itself onto a venomous snake that had headed for Sawyer's shoe. Its claws dug into the snake's neck, and the snake died with a hiss. Fallow stared. "I-it... just killed... a snake."

"It just killed a snake," Sawyer repeated under his breath. He looked down at the snake's body and exhaled, quite relieved and quite shocked at the same time. He bent down slowly to pet the koala's head. His hand stayed in the air for a few seconds before he stroked behind the koala's ear. "Thank you," he murmured.

Fallow sighed. "Look, koala," she said to the koala that looked towards Sawyer. It looked towards her, as if it knew English. Fallow was afraid to admit to herself that it did. "I don't know you..." The koala's eyes narrowed (was that koala glaring?) and it made a sound of disbelief. It pawed her foot, as if to say, Are you crazy?
"Um... Thanks for saving both of us," Fallow said, quickly moving on. I'm talking to a koala. And it understands me! She began to walk away. The koala, however, whilst holding Sawyer's pant leg, followed. Fallow gave an annoyed look at the koala, whom still dragged poor Sawyer along, while walking forward. Automatically a scream escaped Fallow's mouth, and she found herself plunging into darkness. She had slipped into a hole. Her vision swirled and her heart pumped rapidly from the surprise, but the fall didn't end.

(Meep.)

(I'm aliiive!)

"F-Fallow!" Sawyer let out a yell and his right arm shot out to catch her, grasping nothing but air. Having hardly any time to shout again, he tumbled forward into the hole, following Fallow. His eyes squeezed shut, embracing himself for the loud thud that usually followed such falls. He waited like this for ten seconds and opened his eyes. The tunnel wasn't ending. "What..." he breathed as he fell farther, slowly getting used to the feeling of leaving his stomach behind.

Fallow's teary eyes opened to a burnt maple leaf fluttering down to her. In the events of 'Alice in Wonderland', the maple leaf would of gracefully floated past her. The maple leaf swayed onto her face. Fallow attempted to pluck it off of her eye, but her arm failed to move. It was as if gravity disallowed her to. Oh, gravity, She thought as faint lights poured in the dirt walls underneath her. Fallow looked up and saw Sawyer and a koala falling down in front of her. I see light... am I dying? The redhead thought, replaying her dramatic death. She fell into a hole because of a koala, and now she was going to fall into a gentle light and die.
Wait... light. Fallow slammed into a net, squealing slightly in surprise. "Oh my!" She yelped. A hand clapped onto her mouth. "Shush. They'll hear you," said a soft voice in her ear. Fallow nodded, her heart pounding. She struggled to get herself out of the flexible net and dizzily got into her feet. "We have to go before they find us," the cloaked figure whispered. "Wait... my uh... friend is coming, too," she muttered. The figure sighed and nodded, suddenly still.

Sawyer had grown so used to falling by this point in time that he let out a yell of alarm as he turned his head and saw ground and a net quickly approaching. He slammed into the net and groaned, his whole body aching from the impact. "Who knew nets could be so tough," he muttered and pushed himself up, sitting dizzy on the net.

"Wait... Fallow?" Sawyer glanced around, his head making the world spin, and saw nothing but darkness. He was still conscious -- his aching bones reminding him of that -- yet his eyes perceived nothing. "Where are you?"
