1x1 with Halochief

It took him a moment to remember he was sitting next to the Forerunner goddess and yet another to remember that he didn't believe in deities. He thought about it, shrugged, and continued praying. He supposed today had been something of an eye-opener.

"Some warning would have been nice." Faith grumbled. She opened and closed her wings several times, a few plates of armour finally locking into place.
"You can take what you want, but the Queen will probably expect it back." Sliuril added.
"I wish Sliuril would tell me things." Copper grumbled, glaring at the doorway where Sliuril had gone through. "Seriously."
"That's probably a recurring complaint." Glaurug shrugged. "Anyways, can we leave now? The council's already dismissed."
A man slid into the seat beside Glaurug just as he stopped speaking. "The King wishes to speak with you and your delegation, Anathema. Best make haste."
Copper sighed, slamming her goblet into the table. "Come on." She muttered, getting up. Without waiting for the others, Copper practically rushed through the hallways.

Didact stood up when he saw Copper rushing away, glanced over at Glaurug, shrugged hopelessly and then quickly followed her through the hallways. It probably wouldn't do to get left behind.

"Shush." Sliuril muttered. She pocketed what seemed to be a talisman of some sort, glanced around the room one last time, and shrugged.
'That concludes our business, then."
Copper did not meet with her Father in the throne room, where she had been instructed to go. Rather she found him standing in the doorway of her room. Where she had stormed off the skulk.
A look of fury passed over her face. Copper swore vehemently, and turned on her heel and left.
Glaurug facepalmed. "Seriously?!"
He watched this happen. And sent a single thought to the Forerunner trailing behind them - stay and talk.

Didact, who had been turning to follow Copper stopped in his tracks when he heard the thought in his head. The Forerunner looked over his shoulder at the King of the Godsphere. He supposed it felt wrong, standing in the hallway to talk to such a powerful being. He felt that there should have been a bit more to mark the occasion. But then again, he thought while turning around to face the King fully, he'd always hated formality. He stood there, hands clasped behind his back and nodded respectfully.
"Sir."

Sliuril shrugged. "Alright." She replied. "We should go back now." She added, conjuring a portal back to Earth. "For some reason, I don't think the Queen meant Copper when she said everyone."

"But that's not it, is it? No, if I felt it was required, I would have gladly died fighting against her. Once again, perhaps it's me not knowing for certain what she has done, but... it was all a long time ago, sir. A period of my people's history that I slumbered through, banished by those that I had once trusted. I don't blame them. It would feel quite... strange... for me to force anyone to pay for transgressions against the Forerunners."
Jack nodded at Sliuril's words and, seeing no point in delaying it any further, stepped through the portal.

The three of them reappeared in a war camp, in the middle of a set of runes. Sliuril and Faith quickly stepped out, allowing others to port into it. Everyone in the camp still appeared fresh-faced and new. With the way time travelled between realms, Sliuril supposed that they could have already made camp the day before.
"Where is the person in charge?" Faith asked in a growl. That quickly got them directed to the central tent.

Jack followed behind Sliuril, looking around at the camp and the preparations being made by those around them.

"NOPE!" Copper decided.
One of the army lieutenants hastened out. "Princesses! Who is this?" The stayr asked, gesturing to Jack.

Didact made his way to the workshops, the directions clear in his mind. Standing out, even. Like a patch of fresh paint on an old wall.

"Of course. In that case, this way, please. The Commander is already here."
They entered the tent, Thryssa sitting behind a large table placed squarely in the middle. It seemed a replica of the map they had been shown in the meeting, but it had been updated.
"Sister. Lord Jack. You barely missed the beginning of our push towards the main rift." Thryssa said, pointing to a pot on the map. "We have two other rifts here and here under containment. Which one do you want to target first?"

Jack rolled his eyes at the introduction but made no comment. Fine. He'd been tempted anyways. He nodded his greeting to Thryssa and looked over the map while he spoke.
"Really, it would only be logical to attempt to close the rift that seems to have a higher activity of these Grimm. It would also be nice to know if there have been any new developments during your pushes into Grimm territory, especially around the rifts."
Didact walked into the workshop. He was only mildly surprised to find Copper's father there with her and nodded to each of them in turn. He assumed that they had been talking and was ready to leave at the slightest indication that his presence was unwanted, but he could stand awkwardly in the doorway all day if needed. Because he honestly had no idea why he hadn't gone down to the fights. He supposed that he was coming to feel that he owed some level of allegiance to Copper. After all, seeing as it was no longer possible to give it to the Forerunner race, it being all but extinct, he might as well give it to the goddess they had once worshipped. It helped somewhat that she seemed decent enough as a person as well.
There was also the little fact to consider that once beings like Sliuril and Jack were down on a battlefield, there was precious little he could bring to the table.
Wow, I'm useless. he thought to himself.

"Right." Sliuril agreed, studying the map. "And this applies to all six rifts?"
Thryssa shook his head. "Only the main rift. The other five are growing, but only by 0.5% each day. It would be weeks before they stabilize enough to carry us."
The King shared a quick conversation with Copper before he left - she scrunched up her nose. His mind-speak had never been particularly subtle.
"Didact." Copper greeted. "Do you need anything?"

Didact wondered how to phrase it for a moment and then shrugged. "You said they wouldn't allow you down there. What do you intend to do now?" he asked.

Faith rolled her eyes.
"Yep." Copper agreed, a guard already approaching them. "No idea why, not that I'd help." She added.
"Thank gods." Glaurug muttered. "I don't need to get yeeted off earth again."
"We could tour the remains of the Forerunner ruins, at any rate." Copper added. "There's a lot of dangerous tech - at least for the lifeforms of earth - that I need to deactivate and disassemble before they grasp how to utilize it.'

Didact nodded an thought about Copper's words for a moment. "If you don't mind, I would quite like to accompany you on that task." the Forerunner piped up eventually.

She opened her mouth, paused, and thought better of it. A small smile blossomed on her face - she she reached forwards, and pulled Didact into a firm hug.
"If you hurt her, I'll hunt you down." Glaurug quipped, ruining any possible moment from happening. "Guess who else will be joining the party."
Copper rolled her eyes, letting go of Didact.
"Thank you."
"Much agreed." Faith growled, exiting the tent. She grew back to her original size, and knelt for Sliuril to board. "Let's go."
She waited a few moments for Sliuril to settled, before launching herself into the air and heading towards the main rift.

"I don't doubt you."
Jack looked around as he emerged from the tent and moved to give himself some space. The demon leapt into the air, changing into his dragon form as he went, and followed after Faith.

"So where are we off to, my lady?"
"Probably Mt. Olympus." Copper shrugged. "It's far away enough from earth that I won't be bothering the others, but close enough that we can get help if need be. I remember I left a research facility there... Oh, and of course we'll need to get you and Didact fitted with some spaceworthy armour. Can't have you both dying on me from oxygen withdrawal."
Copper kept talking as she led them through the hallways of the Godsphere, eventually making her way to the armoury.
Faith headed for the rift, each wingbeat propelling them hundreds of meters towards it. She could clearly see the rift as a glowing source of energy, energy she wanted to devour. The army beneath them was making good progress, and by the time they landed all Faith could do was consume one of the appearing creatures.
"Is this it?"
"Yes." Sliuril agreed. "It's already coroporealized. We can pass through now."
"Noted." Faith grunted, firing a fireball at one of the neverbirds.
"Waiting for your instructions!" A soldier shouted up. "But we have them contained!"
