Jonah gave a slight snicker as the piplup used Bubble Beam on the guy he had met at the forest. Okay, maybe the guy wasn't all bad, it had been a while since he had even smiled and the guy had almost gotten a laugh out of him. Maybe this island was exactly what he needed. He would get a fresh start, which hadn't been too good so far, and he might do things right this time around.

His grin was however, was replaced by a frown as the piplup handed its pokeball to the guy. He could only think of one reason for it to do so and it didn't make sense. How come the professor's pokemon was just giving itself away like that.

Prof. Rose set drinks and food on the table. "The drinks are ready. Help yourself." She said, tossing a Pokeball. A Growlithe slipped out of the pokeballs, making a happy barking sound. "After you have chosen your starters, I have something to give you."

"Um.... Professor Rose? You got a lot of explaining to do," I hissed. I quickly grabbed Bulbasaur though because she did say we could take one. Paras was cheering and dancing around my feet. I picked him up to so that I had a Pokemon in each arm.

Jonah glanced at the food and drinks prof. Rose had brought over but made no move to get anything. He focused his attention on something else entirely. She said they would get to choose a starter so piplup giving itself away didn't feel so impossible anyway. He took a quick look at the pokemons but once again, stayed put. He didn't want to make a fool of himself by rushing over to get one of them. Heck no, he was no 13-year-old girl seeing pokemons for the first time.

He caught a Charmander looking at him but averted his gaze. However, the fire lizard leisurely padded over to him while giving him a meaningful look. He was going to object for a while but decided it was no use arguing with the pokemon and he gave it a small nod which the Charmander returned.

Janre rushed in the door. "Late again!" She did somehow seem excited, flicking a little thorn off her boot. She sat next to the others, staring up at Prof. Rose.

Prof. rose slowly nodded, and walked from the kitchen to the explorers. "You all will have to restore this place. I've built my lab here to get you started. Long ago, there was a busy street here. Stores, factories, gyms, Pokecenters, you name it, ran along that street. It kept expanding. Just recently, after this island was forgotten, the legendaries came to war. Mew, Mewtwo, Arceus, Palkia, Diagla, Xerneas, Zygarde, and Yvetal. The final battle raged, and finally, one by one, the legends began to give up. Many left gifts. This is why I'm here now. I came to tell you all, you must embark on restoring this place while trying to find Mew. She lives here in the mountains. Come back once you have evolved your starter to the last evolution, made bond with others, and have begun to restore your city. Get out there and make this the bet place it can be, blue island explorers!" She tossed Growlithe's pokeball and it returned, as she said the last part.

Janre nodded and looked in the room with the starters. Her mom did this exact same thing, but she didn't have to restore anything. Janre immediately caught the eye of a Froakie, and she silently squealed at the cute thing, before grabbing the Pokeball and pushing the button, returning the Froakie.

Diana blinked. "Where am I?" she spoke out loud. She rubbed her head and stood up. Ok ok she wasn't THAT TALL but now standing up she saw that there was a small note on the ground and a wait wahat was that? a POKEBALL?!

Diana picked the ball up and started to read the note. Prof. Rose?! A lab? Diana was very confused. She had no idea who was this Prof. Rose and this 'lab'. 'Well better to take small steps than big leaps' Diana thought remembering what the mightyenas had taught here (yea! I understand mighyena! X3) First off she had to know what was inside the pokeball she threw it on the floor and poof. There was a chikorita inside. AWWW! it was so cute! "Chi-chi?" It cried confused.

"Yea I'm confused too buddy but I guess your here with me!" Diana quickly picked the chikorita up and started to the trees.

"CHI-CHI-CHI!" chickorita cried happy to have a friend. "Ok you wait here Diana said slowly as she put down the chikorita for a moment. "CHI!" it cried angrily. "Don't worry buddy I'll be back for you soon. With that Diana Climbed the nearest tall tree close to her.

"chi?" Chikorita was obiouvily confused about what was happening. Why couldn't she see the nice girl who just went up he tree now?

"Whew! Made it!" Diana said to no one in particual as she climbed to the top of the tree. She looked far into the distance and she saw a building not too far away nearby surrounded by roses. 'That has to be the lab!' She thought. Diana hurried up and quickly slid down."

"I found out where to go!" Diana shouted cheerfully as she scooped up the Chikorita. "Let's go!" said Diana with her chikorita by her side quickly went to the direction of the labortory.

"Restoring the island and looking for Mew up on a mountain, you say?" Namifia asked "Sounds harsh. We better work together."

"Fokko~~~" A Fennekin cried and roll her Pokeball over. When the ball was fell, Namifia perfectly caught it mid-air. The fox smiled.

"So you want to join me that bad, Fennie?" She asked Fennekin "Alrighty! Let's eat first."

"Couldn't you give us a heads up first?" I mumbled. Bulbasaur growled and Paras snapped his claws.

Namifia ate the snacks on the table politely. She looked at the talking girl, wondering what se means.

Jonah cocked his eyebrow at prof. Rose's little speech. Why would they have o restore this place for her? He felt something tugging at his pant leg and saw the charmander holding out a pokeball for him. So that's his pokeball then.. He took it out of the fire lizard's small hands and called him back inside it. Maybe he could actually do this thing, after all he had nothing better to do.

The piplup eyed me seriously and our stares lasted for eternity until I spoke, "I see what your trying to tell me..." I smiled and looked the little penguin. He smiled back and nodded but frowned instantly after hearing, "But I can't keep you with me unless you apologize..." I got up and walked towards the sofa, "Learn how to treat others with respect". The piplup shook his head and ran after me, Piplup pip lup piplup! He had a pleading look on his small round face and tugged on my jeans. I laughed out loud thinking that me and him were the only beings in this room and admitted, "I can't believe you took me seriously! I mean I was only kidding with ya little guy!" His nice little smile turned to a pissed off frown.

I patted his head and told him, "Fine, I accept you as my starter". The piplup nodded and ran back to his poke-ball. I was confused when he stood in front of me but refused to hand me over the red and white poke-ball. I frowned and asked, "Whats wrong little guy?" He grinned evilly and used bubble beam on my face as pay-back. My hands raised up in defeat and I sighed, "Your my pokemon alright..." for a moment I felt as if I was the happiest guy on earth. Even if I have a screwed up past, I had a feeling from deep within me that this little guy would be the reason I would smile...

We heard professor Rose say something about restoring this land and finding mew, the task was clear and I looked at my starter, he nodded at me and jumped up on my head. Looks like most of the other starters were taken, the girl from before was with her bulbasaur and the guy I met from before had a charmander besides his foot. I looked at the guy and grinned, who knew that he would get a pokemon like that? Then I averted my gaze towards Professor Rose, there was something about her that pissed me off; Nevertheless I kept my cool and controlled myself from strangling her.

"Listen, Professor Rose I am grateful that you gave me this starter and that you offered us something to eat and all that...but that does not justify your actions...you kidnapped us and now expect us to just forget all that and help you?! I already had enough problems with my life, and I will appreciate it if you would explain why you chose me of all people?"

"I didn't just choose you. I chose 8. I chose you because I think you can handle it the best. There's no going back. We can only do so much," Prof. Rose said.

I sighed and nodded, "Sorry Professor, I didn't mean to dis-respect you in anyway..." I looked out-side the window and avoided mingling with anyone in the room. This was very awkward for me, I was in a room full of girls and the only other guy in there was not in best of terms with me, Piplup jumped from my head and stood in front of me, "I think your happy with the current situation?" He grinned and we walked towards the sofa again.

The tiny blue penguin sat on my lap and starred at me, "Whats up? You want anything?" He nodded and pointed to the board at the edge of the room. I walked up to the board and read the sticky notes, most of them were about names and how to name. I chuckled and sat back where piplup was, "I suppose you want me to nickname you?" He jumped up and nodded again. "In that case...I'll name you...Blue-bot?" He made a stupid expression and shook his head violently. "Then I think...Little-pip?" He did the same as before, "Pippy?" another denial. "Lord-Voldemort?" Piplup refused again. "Then I'll name you...Napoleon?" He beamed up and thought for a while before nodding in approval.

"Great, you will now be named Napoleon" He smiled(in his own penguin way) and lay down on my lap so that he could sleep, I had to admit this much that Napoleon was the first pokemon I thought was actually cute. Maybe things change as one opens up to another.

I shook my head in frustration and grabbed the Bulbasaur's Pokeball. It leapt out of my arms before I could return it and went to the bulletin board to get a sticky. It grabbed a pen with a vine and started drawing on the sticky. I'm not sure what it was but it put it by its ear. This Bulbasaur was girl! She wanted to accessorize!

"How sweet," I said as Paras stared at me, confused. He tried to grab the pen but it snapped in half, spilling ink all over the floor. He shrieked in surprise. I laughed as Paras crawled behind a table, embarrassed.

"It was an accident. It's okay," I knelt down beside him. He snuggled up beside me. While petting him again, I took notice of the mushrooms on his back. It will eventually take over him. I shuddered and continued to stroke.

"Finally!" Diana cried as she receahed the lab. "CHI!" chikorita cried happily.

Diana opened the door and gulped. Inside was 6 more trainers each older than her each with a pokemon.

"Er hi!" Diana said a little bit nervous. Gosh it was a rare site that she was nervous, most of the times she wasn't. "My name is Diana" Diana said forcing her cheerfulness "Who are you?"

Prof. Rose turned to Diana. "Ah. You must be the last explorer. Welcome! Feel free to introduce yourself to some of the explorers. For starts, I am Prof. Rose. Help yourself to snacks and sorts."
