Unless you expect 3D models to be used, this would be way too easy, because we CAN'T have things like "Jigglypuff from above." We only use sprites, which are seen from one angle and way too easy to recognize, even in silhouettes.
(And, in my opinion, Pokémon really aren't difficult to spell, so I can't say that I personally agree with that reason.)

@CarpetMonster who knows? Riako is a troll. also, the game could follow the same rule and use Pokemons from the anime atwork.

As I just said, we only have the official sprites.
Unless you expect the site's three spriters to sprite every Pokémon at different angles just for one mini game, it wouldn't be possible to "troll" with alternate angles. Sprites have to come from somewhere, and there's really no feasible way to do anything like this without an inconsistent bias towards some Pokémon over others (meaning not every Pokémon would show up in the mini game).
And if we instead use anime art, that leaves the "Jigglypuff from above" trick the only challenging thing anyway?

I just don't see the point, personally. It would be too hard to implement in a remotely challenging way, and I honestly don't think it would be worth it. Just my personal opinion, of course.

QuoteNo support. It would make getting whatever the prize is much easier to obtain.

That is why the prize would be berries or gems, or maybe small amounts of PD. The items you could get would be the same as rumbling, with the same possibility of obtaining certain items.
OR
It could be like Hangman and give you game chips every time you get a Pokemon right! If you get one wrong, you have to wait 30 seconds to try again (like hangman)

Just a thought i had while looking at this, but perhaps there could be a harder difficulty that involves looking at the footprints? Like from the Mystery Dungeon games, but you dont have the four options and must type out the pokemon? This game seems fin but could be a bit too easy for some, so perhaps yhis harder difficulty could spice things up.

@Vanilite
It's kind of selfish to not support a suggestion purely because it's going to be easy.
Just because it's going to be easy doesn't mean it shouldn't be implemented.
Look at coinflip, the game is easy, yet it's very fun! (and frustrating at times, lol)

It will be too easy, it's not that hard to memorize all the Pokémon, most of the Pokémon fans knows a lot of information about every Pokémon, so yeah, I don't support.

But I agree with @Bluekat's suggestion, I personally loved that feature on the Mystery Dungeon Explorers of Sky, and it will be a cool addition ^^

Full support for footprints! ^^
Still no support for the original suggestion, though.
