Right now, the palpad shows someone as online as long as they have a PH window/tab open, or are on the app for it.

This in itself doesn't seem like a bad thing to do, however, some of the users, like me, ALWAYS have PH open, whether we are on the site or not.

So having an option to state when we aren't online would be nice. It could be something such as "No page loads in X time = offline" to a button to click in the palpad itself that toggles "online" and "offline" where if you have it set to "offline" then when you aren't online according to the site (inactive for 15 minutes) then it will automatically switch to offline.

Alternatively, I guess I could try and keep all my PH tabs in one window and close it every single time I'm going to be away from the computer for more than 15 minutes, then scramble about every time I get back on it to try and remember which tabs I had open and in what order, wasting minutes that could be spent talking to friends or interacting.

Or I can leave it as it is right now, and when I'm away for a few hours, people can keep talking to an empty computer and get irritated to no ends because I'm ignoring them because I'm offline for food, or sleep, or other real life stuff...

Sarcasm aside, here's the TL;DR version:

Option 1) Misc setting where we put in the time to be "offline" before it switches to offline. (Browser open)

Option 2) Have an Online/Offline option where offline means when you're inactive 15 minutes on-site it automatically marks you as offline

And, of course, these two options don't affect the "online as long as PH is open" thing unless they are active.

Support! It happened to me many times that people talked to me when I wasn't on the PC and I accidently left a PH tab open.

Also, it would be nice if, instead of switching to 'offline' after 15 minutes, it set you to 'idle' like some other chats. It might also be nice to have an 'invisible' option for if you are online but you don't want to receive messages. People would see you as offline.
