Now, this suggestion has NOT been suggested anywhere else, and i know this because i searched it up.
My suggestion is:
There would be a submenu in community which says 'Heritage', or 'Poke-History' and when you go there, it would say:

Select a Pokemon. [You select a pokemon]
Click to see heritage

And you would have a list of how you got it, and previous owners, and how they got the pokemon in a list. This is useful for tracing down the original owner.

Or, if you're tracking down the original owner and how they obtained it, you can just look on the profile page of the pokemon...

For example, your Shelcaso:


The original owner was Rajal_amrit
They obtained it through breeding.
It took them 7 hours to hatch the egg.

And something like this HAS been suggested before. It was something like "List of all previous trainers" or "trade history of a pokémon" or something like that. I say that, as I remember typing and posting something very similar to what I'm about to say.

This list will be VERY long for people who LEND their rares for others to use. Such as just about anyone's Zapdos, Moltres, Articuno, or Ditto. Or some people's Keldeo, Kyurem, Shaymin, Regice, Registeel, Regirock, etc. Basically anything really hard to get that's needed to complete the dex for a region in order to get one of the legends from the Professor.
