Hylla did her best to block out the stinging pain the bitter winds inflicted upon her body. Any minor injuries she had gained from her random fall had healed the moment she had gotten back to the air. She scanned the area below her warily, trying to locate the place where she had stashed her meager belongings.

After a few more moments of enduring the cold, Hylla spotted a small clearing at the edge of the woods. Relieved, she immediately dived towards the clearing. Once she got her feet back on the ground, her wings retracted upon command. She hurriedly walked to a hollow tree and thrust her hand inside, withdrawing a small bag.

The bag didn't hold much. Just a few things necessary for survival including clothes, hunting tools, and a few holy souvenirs from Above. Carelessly, Hylla slung the pack over her shoulder. Her wings reappeared and she set off for the skies once more. She'd need a place to change.

As she flew overhead, she glanced down to see a small gathering of people - or were they even people? Curiosity taking over, she stealthily descended, hovering just out of sight. Perhaps they knew the nearest restroom. Probably just her wishful thinking.

Joule tilted his head at the little girl. I'm an undead...too? I suppose I should take that as she's also a creature of the night...

He stood up on his hind legs, and shifted into his tall, human(ish) form. His fur flattened and transformed into his usual blazer outfit and scarf. When he blinked, the yellow in his eyes was replaced with grey.

"I suppose you've figured me out," he said, crossing his arms and looking down at the little girl. "I guess you could call me a vampire. And what exactly are you?" It was his turn to crouch down now as he squinted at the little girl. She had mentioned an alp. Joule remembered hearing the term once, but he couldn't remember exactly what one was. He made a mental note to research it later.

"And you over there!" He called to the human, or at least what smelled like a human, who the girl had been talking to. He looked like he was trying to sneak away. "I don't think I'm done with you, yet. What are you doing in these woods anyways?" Not to mention he might have seen too much. I need to know he won't go blabbing to the other humans and gather an angry mob. Dealing with them is so annoying.

Tristan froze in place, he swiveled back around and shyly nodded. Running his fingers through his hair, he tilted his head slightly in curiosity. "Uh, I'm a little confused... what's an alp?" he asked quietly, looking Fox up and down. She looked normal enough to him, so what could be so different about this girl? 'I guess you could call me a vampire.' Shocked, his jaw dropped slightly and he stared at Joules. "You're not actually... a vampire, right?" Surely he was kidding.

Lacey watched the others talk, catching only a few words now and then. Her right ear twitched as a snowflake settled onto the tip of it. She hissed slightly, watching tiny, detailed flakes melt against her pale skin. Shivering, she pulled the long sleeves down, covering her tiny hands. Lacey leaned forward, straining to hear their conversation.

(I haven't even touched Luellia yet. XD)

Joule stared at the kid for a brief moment before shaking her small hand. The "alp" sure seemed like a little brat. "The name's Joule," he said. "It's a pleasure to meet you, as well."

He stood up and looked at the human before letting out a small sigh. "Yes, I'm an actual vampire," he said, almost rolling his eyes as he said the words. He had lost track of how many people he had to explain this to over the years. "Just...don't go running around screaming 'vampire' and we should get along just swimmingly. I promise I won't bite you or anything." He gave what he hoped was a friendly smile. "My vampirism doesn't pass along though, if you're still worried about that."

"An alpism ain't a thing if her wondering. Yer only an app is ya die as a kid an junk, etcetera etcetera." Fox said. "An gosh do I HATE people treatin me like a child. Do you have any idea what it's like to be older than a century, but people still treat you like you're ten? It's a pain." Fox said, shifting into a teenage version of her current form.

[Oh goodie, time to post.]

Hylla cautiously kept herself in the air, doing her best to hover without alerting the other creatures. Her wings were almost silent. Almost.

"Two creatures of the night. Interesting," Hylla thought to herself, shivering against the snow.

What was this snow anyway? Actually, no. Where was she even? It definitely was not the normal kind, since she'd tasted it during her little fall to the ground when the hunter boy hit her. Nope, not normal.

Letting out a sigh, her breath showing in the icy air, she returned her attention to the conversation taking place below her. Her angel senses were much more enhanced than a regular human's, and thus she was able to eavesdrop easily.

Hylla didn't really have an opinion on this sudden group in the middle of an icy forest covered in supernatural candy-tasting snow. She's seen stranger things, but this somehow piqued her interest, causing her to unwisely forget that she had to concentrate to keep herself up in the air. Despite the fact she was fully healed, the dull ache in her wing had not disappeared quite completely.

With a cry of surprise, she felt her wings freeze and she dropped like a rock towards the ground, and more importantly, towards the group. She hit the snow unharmed, but definitely shivering.

"Stupid...wing..." Hylla's teeth chattered as she clutched her bag tightly.

Fox jumped in surprise as an angel-like creature crashed into a snow bank beside her. "Holy fudge lady! Don't you know that you should watch where you're crashing?" Fox said to the snow-covered angel lady. "Ya need some help up?" Fox asked, offering her hand out to the fallen angel. Fox remained in her teen-type form.

Joule was startled when the angel fell in the midst of them. It reminded him of that cheesy pickup line he'd heard before...Did it hurt when you fell from heaven?

"You wouldn't happen to be that angel that the hunter boy shot down earlier, would you?" He said to her plainly. Now that he took a good look at her, he was positive that she was the same woman. This, and that she was obviously freezing in the cold. Personally, the cold had never bothered Joule that much. Perhaps it was because he had a fur coat, or maybe he had simply grown used to it over the years.

He unwrapped his warm scarf from around his neck and draped it over the angel's head. "You look rather cold." He noticed that she was shivering relentlessly. "I'll let you borrow this for a bit, if you'd like. I know a place where we can all warm up." The chilly air stung at his face and neck where the scarf had previously covered. I know I don't help people a lot, but this angel is obviously unprepared for the cold. And besides, this is a rare chance to see an angel face-to-face without it trying to attack me. He briefly recalled instances in the past when he had fought with angels. Some of the fights had probably been justified, in all honesty, but the others had been foolish angelic warriors hoping to vanquish him.

Tristan was still trying to process this when all of the sudden an angel came crashing in. His eyes widened at her quite large wings, this was all very new and strange to him. "Seriously, are you guys just everywhere?" He stuffed his hands into his pockets, feeling a little awkward being the only human (cause he obviously isn't gonna end up being some kinda demon or anything...) here. He looked curiously at each of them, still wondering if he was hallucinating. This kind of thing only happened in books, or movies, {{or roleplays :3}} but it didn't happen in real life. Then again, it all felt pretty real.

Lacey jumped a little when an angel literally fell from the sky. Ears flattened and tail twitching, she narrowed her eyes at the newcomer. Where were all these people coming from? Why did they have to be in her forest? She huffed unhappily and brushed a strand of raven hair out of her face. The angel's wing caught her eye, it looked as if she had been shot. Ohhhh, she realized, feeling stupid for not having noticed the wound. Should she try to help? No, the other strangers would do that, and she didn't want any attention from the others either.

"Waitwaitwait. You're saying that somebody shot the angel? I'm just going to punch that sucker in the face! I mean, who shoots an angel!" Fox sighed. "Did ya heal the wound already? If it wasn't a complete healing, or if there's any remaining aches an such, I believe I can help ya out or somtin." Fox said, sprouting a mirror copy the angel's wings. "Okay, so touch where 'e hit ya and where it 'urts." Fox heard snow falling from a nearby tree, revealing a cat-like humanoid figure. "Oi! Catgirl! Watchu doin up there? Things were going way too fast, even for a half-angel with seriously enhanced senses. Somewhat dazed by her fall and the bitter cold, she clutched at the scarf the vampire had dropped on her head. Her fingers were so numb she could barely grab at the piece of fabric, and she fumbled with it for a bit. She caught the alp's words, her ears pounding with hot blood that did its best to ward off the cold.

"T-thank you," Her teeth chattered like a tap dancer.

She was not the least bit surprised at the sudden mirror copy of her wings - she'd met several shapeshifters in her long life. She barely managed to reach up and touch the middle of the left wing of the copy, remembering exactly where she had been hit. A dry laugh crackled from her blue lips.

"Y-yeah, that would be me," Hylla muttered in reply to the vampire's question.

Her dark brown/amber orbs flitted towards the boy, who seemed...somewhat human. "Actually, the last time I saw a group of mythical beings together without attempting to kill each other in a bloodthirsty craze, it was around fifteen hundred years ago," she answered the hypothetical question, raising her eyebrows ever so slightly. Something about the boy...was off. She couldn't put her finger on it, but there was something.

She gripped her bag closer to her, wishing she could find some place to change her clothes. Her current dress was torn from her fall, and it certainly was not suitable for the strange weather.

Before Lacey could even respond to the girl she instinctively let out a hiss and her claws unsheathed. She quickly hopped down from the high-up branch, landing on all... four feet. On the way down she had shifted into her cat form, an all-black slender feline with large red eyes. She slowly made her way over to the others, daintily trodding on the soft, sugary snow. Upon reaching them, Lacey settled at the feet of the angel, purring and rubbing up against her. As a human, she was very antisocial, but she felt more comfortable around humans in her feline form.

"Yeah, these guys are technically in my territory, but I'm trying to be more lenient towards intruders." Fox said. The funny thing is, Fox wasn't kidding. When her mom was in control, she would've disposed of these intruders immediately. But then again, Fox did take after her father. Fox shifted into a more feline form, much like her teenage form, except with a cat tail and ears.

"To answer your question, there was a hunter kid I was toying with earlier. He happened to see her in the sky. Probably thought she was a bird or something. He was a horrible shot, though. I'm honestly surprised he was even able to hit her," Joule said plainly. He watched with interest as the alp did her work. He'd never had any talent for healing spells or anything of the sort other than his own regenerative abilities.

"When you're done with that, you might want to come with me," he said to the angel. "Unless you want to get frostbite out here. Anyone else who doesn't want to freeze can come too, if they'd like. Besides, I'm going to need that scarf back, eventually." He nodded to the angel.

"It's quite a hike from here, but I happen to have a means to get us there instantly once you're ready." Joule put a hand in his left coat pocket, fingering the black feather that lay inside.

"Eh, I gots a place nearby we can hang in. Ya gotta have multiple safe houses in this neck of teh woods." Fox said, reaching into her sweater and pulling out a map. This map had about 20 small glowing blue dots on it. There were a couple other colored dots, but there was only one green glowing dot. "See? We're roight 'ere. An 'ere's one of my safe 'ouses. It's actually just over there a bit." Fox said, pointing in the direction the catgirl had come from.

Tristan leaned over to look over the map, not even finding a glowing map weird anymore. So many things have happened today, he had given up on trying to understand it all. It would probably be better to just go with it. He shrugged and bit his lip. "I don't care where we go, can we just get out of this cold?" he asked, rubbing the back of his neck awkwardly.

"Yeah, sure!" Fox said, starting to walk in the direction of the hidden safe house. "Follow me if ya don't ta freeze people!" She walked off into the woods, shifting back to her base form. She soon reached an enormous tree, made up of a pine and an oak tree intertwined. She pressed her hand on the base of the trunk, muttering a phrase in a different language, revealing an oaken door. She pushed it open to reveal a roomy and cozy living room, with several armchairs and a furry bear rug on the floor, in front of a fireplace. Fox walked over to the fireplaces and tapped a crimson sphere imbedded in the bottom of the fireplace. A fire instantly started up, lighting up the room with a rosy glow.

Joule shrugged and followed Fox, taking his hand out of his pocket. It was probably a good idea not to waste the magic feather, since it only had one use. He had to duck through the doorway. Obviously not meant for tall people. I guess since Fox is such a shorty, she never needed a tall door.

The fire that Fox started was rather warm. He felt tingly from the sudden change from cold to warm. He looked around the room. "A bit small, perhaps," he noted. At least compared to what I'm used to. "But nonetheless cozy." He plopped himself down in one of the armchairs, stretching out his long legs. "How many of these 'safe houses' do you even have? Must be a lot if you have to use a map to keep track of them."

"Yeh, me an my dad set them up when he was still around. All different sizes too." Fox said. "There's two bedrooms, a pantry, and this room. Pretty compact, but it works." Fox walked over to one of the armchairs and sunk into it, balancing her tiny colorful top hat on her head.
