"Yeah yeah." Dustin says rolling his eyes and throwing away his
tray. He walks past everyone, although it's not easy considering
most of them are heading the same way as he is. He gets out into
the hallway, pausing as he lost Raven in the crowd of people
shoving to get out.
Raven panicked slightly at the large crowd and at the fact she
couldn't see Dustin. Don't panic. Your not even at full strength
right now anyway. She darted towards a hallway that looked
mostly abandoned and headed down it, with only a few stray people
here and there. Hopefully Dustin will realize I don't like large
crowds, she thought. She peeked into a classroom and noticed it
looked as if no one had been inside for a while. Raven attempted to
open the door to find it opened with ease. She slipped inside and
sat in a corner. She remembered she stuck her notebook and pencil
in her back pocket and took them out, doodling while she waited.
Dustin waited, watching the through the crowds for Raven. The
crowds began separating and she was no where to be seen. Maybe she
just went to class, he thinks glancing around once more. He huffs
lightly and begins walking back towards his class.
Raven glanced at the clock in the room. Even if there's nobody
in the halls, it's still pretty nice in here, she thought.
But I wonder if Dustin is even looking for me. I don't even know
where I am right now. She pulled out her map. Even more oddly,
the classroom she was in didn't even appear on it. Raven had
finished her doodle several minutes ago, and she pulled herself to
her feet and began to pace.
Dustin sighed lightly as he walked into math class. The teacher was
already mid-sentence as he took his seat in the dead center of
class. A few other kids laughed a bit at his slight lateness. He
grinned at them and they made faces back at him. "Why are you late
Dustin?" The teacher asked, turning to look him straight in the
eye. The others let out the little 'oooh' sound that means your in
trouble. "Traffic." He said softly, shrugging a bit and sitting
back casually. The teacher opens her mouth about to say something,
then stops, turning back to the board. Dustin glanced back and
winked at the others in his class, getting several chuckles.
Finally, Raven simply walked to the door and attempted to open it.
It was locked from the outside. So you can get in outside but
it's locked inside, she thought dully. I guess I'm stuck
here until someone finds me. I don't know who would find me in a
place that isn't on the map. She sighed and sat against the far
wall, watching the minutes tick by.
When the teacher called out Raven's name for attendance Dustin knew
she must've gotten lost. "Hey want me to go find her, she probably
couldn't find her way." Dustin says softly looking at the teacher.
The teacher looks at him then gestures her arm as if saying, 'fine
get lost'. Dustin jumped out of his chair and scurried out of the
room. Now where on earth could she have gone, he wonders as he
begins walking down the halls, looking through the glass on the
doors of other classrooms.
Raven sighed. Am I going to be stuck here forever or
something? she thought. Her fingers tingled again but she
simply let the electricity run into the nearest electric socket
(or whatever their called I forgot
.w.) until the tingling faded. Whoever finds me will get
a hug. And I'm the kind of person that can be hugged but wont hug
back. Now I'm just having conversations with myself. I'm bored.
"Raveeennn" Dustin calls out as he walks down the hall. He knows he
is probably interrupting other classes but he doesn't really care.
"Raaaayy veeeennn." He yells a bit louder, grumbling slightly to
himself. A few teachers shoosh him but he ignores them and calls
out louder. He shakes his head frustrated, cupping his face between
his hands then murmuring something under his breath.
Raven thought she heard Dustin's voice somewhere fairly far away.
"Dustin? I'm in here! This place is locked from the outside!" she
yelled as loud as she could manage. Please don't let me be
hallucinating or something, she thought. I don't want to
dieee in heeereee.
Dustin still didn't hear the reply. What to do now... he thinks,
placing his fingers to his temple just as he always did when he
tried thinking. Then it hit him. "I'm gonna regret this..." He
murmurs, as he summons a few shadows by his feet. "Find- find
Raven-" He mutters, using all his concentration to get the shadows
to obey. They take off down the hall, knowing exactly where she is.
Dustin follows them, but they are draining his energy quickly. They
lead him to a room, and he pulls the little handle, causing the
door to swing open. Dustin falls to the ground, drained of any
energy he just had. The shadows evaporate and he takes in a deep
breath.
Dustin groans and rubs his head. "Yeah I'm good, what the heck were
you doing in there? We aren't supposed to go in there, It's
cursed." Dustin mutters standing up slightly, staggering a bit
before catching his balance.
"How is it cursed? It's just a perfectly normal classroom, just
locked from the outside," Raven replied. "I was looking for
somewhere quiet and less crowded to wait for you. Except you didn't
show up for a while." And I probably would've died or gone
insane or fell into some cliff if you didn't show up, she added
silently to herself and grinned slightly.
"Guess your not as gullible as I thought, normally the new kids
fall for that at least for a few moments." He says smiling a bit.
"But we should probably head to math, I think I got on the teachers
bad list from yelling down the halls." He says nudging her slightly
with his shoulder and heading back towards class.
"Uh 2:15." He says softly running his hand through his spiked hair
as they reach the classroom. He opens the door up, walking inside
with Raven. "Hey teach, I found her." He says nodding slightly at
Raven and taking his seat.
(Sorry for the very late response, I was in the city half the day
and taking down wallpaper the rest of it ;w;)
Dustin glanced over at the seats beside him, which were taken
already. He bit his lip a bit, and then raised his hand. "She can
sit next to me, since I am her only friend here." He says nodding
towards the person beside him. The teacher just shrugs at the kid
and he moves to the back of the class, leaving a seat open next to
Dustin.
