Uxie didn't respond, she just tightened her grasp and flew faster. A few hours later, she slowed down and started to descend. When she was close enough to the ground, she let go of Phoenix.

Phoenix had stopped by now and, when Uxie let go, just fell to the ground and curled up into a ball, silently crying.

Mesprit and Azelf looked between Phoenix, Uxie and eachother.

Mesprit and Azelf glanced between the two just as a sandstorm wall appeared in front of Uxie. Phoenix was standing and glaring at her.

Uxie sighed. "The Time Gem. It's a blue diamond that allows the holder to travel through time and space at his or her own free will... it is one of the multiple things that my sisters and I guard. The spirit that has taken over your friend works for a much larger, and darker force that is trying to use the Time Gem for evil...."

"Is running away and leaving a good soul really worth this?" She said, gesturing towards Uxie and her sisters, who all looked afraid still. Phoenix turned away from them and towards where they left Serenity. "For a bunch of legendary pokemon, you three aren't really that legendary. I have seen more from my friend, a mere STARTER pokemon that I have from YOU!" She looked back at her, determination in her face.

"The dark spirit back there is much stronger than you believe." Uxie said calmly. "One life sacrificed is nothing compared to what would happen if the dark ones got a hold of the Time Gem. People will die, the world will crumble. You can go back there and try to get her back, but if one of you dies in the process, don't come crying to me saying that I didn't warn you." She then turned and flew away.

"And I am stronger than you think." Phoenix said as she left. "I am a fairy-dragon type, and the first pokemon that EVER wanted to be my FRIEND WAS SERENITY!" She turned and started back towards Serenity. "At least I wont give up of others."

"Fool." Uxie laughed as she flew away.
Serenity walked back to the lake. A shadowy image appeared on the surface. "And..?" a male voice asked in a ghostly voice. "They got away sir, and I didn't receive the gem, but doing worry, I have an idea of what do and how to get it." Serenity responded with an evil grin.

Mesprit followed Uxie, but Azelf looked between her sisters and Phoenix, who was flying thru the pain from her wings. Azelf started to follow her sisters. "What if she is right?" She asked in a small voice. "What if, by saving Serenity, we keep the gem safe and defeat that dark spirit?"

Phoenix flew in short bursts, resting a bit between each one. Don't worry Serenity, I am coming back for you! She thought.

Serenity started to walk casually in the direction that the others had flown earlier. Dont worry master, I won't let you down! She giggled at the thought of what her master might do to the trio and the strange Vibrava that had attacked her and delayed her mission. "Ooo they'd be turned to dust!" She giggled. "As soon as I get that gem..."

"Shut up Azelf!" Uxie growled.

Phoenix continued on her way, but soon stopped for the night. She choose a tall tree and curled up near the top. "Serenity..." Phoenix said, sighing and watching the sun set. "I will save you..."

Azelf suddenly stopped flying with her sisters and looked back.

Azelf looked back at her. "Why... Why are we abonding them...?" She asked. "I know we should protect the Gem, but what if we do that by standing up to that spirit?"

"At least I still CARE about others." Azelf said before flying back towards Phoenix. 'With all your knowledge sister, I am surprised that you don't.' She said using telepathy.

But if you go back there, you could get seriously hurt, and as your older sister, I wouldn't be able to bear the burden of that as well as the burden of the world crumbling under our feet just because we were too sensitive if our emotio- Mesprit?" Uxie turned to Mesprit. "You two are teaming up on me, aren't you?"

As Serenity walked she could hear the voices of the trio coming into earshot. An evil grin appeared on her face as she quickened her pace. Now my acting skills will be put to the test..

Phoenix had spotted Serenity and started following her.
