THE STORY THUS FAR
No events of consequence have occurred yet.
AREAS EXPLORED THUS FAR
A ~ A small town in the triangular island bordered by mountains,
Jupitide Town, occasionally referred to as Alpha due to its
position in the recommended course for beginning Trainers to take,
is where both Aquilo and Egress started their journeys. Windy and
often plagued by storms, it would be a good place to train
Flying-type Pokémon - hard, yes, but rewarding. Unfortunately,
these storms make for rough sailing, which can occasionally prove
inconvenient to those who wish to start journeys, but thankfully,
it is easy to tell if a storm is approaching and it is usually safe
to sail to or from the island.
B ~ A small town in the triangular island bordered by mountains,
Junordina Town, occasionally referred to as Beta due to its
position in the recommended course for beginning Trainers to take,
is the first place in the Gym and Contest circuit, containing both
a Normal-type Gym and a Contest Hall.
"Pinchpinch traa!!"
Aquilo facepalmed. Trapinch still wasn't full? How was that even
possible?
He had spent almost half an hour trying to feed the ant lion, and
was still apparently too hungry to start training. "At this rate,"
he said, "I'm going to run out of money just trying to feed you
every day..."
(Not mentioning Egress in the post because I don't know if she is
with Aquilo at the moment.)
"Shuppet, I know you want to battle, we need to find someone
first!" Egress said, climbing over a small tree to follow the
ghost. "Oh! you! your from Alpha, right? Well whatever! I challenge
you to a pokemon battle!" She exclaimed, pointing at Aquilo as she
finished untangling from the tree.
"What kind of pokemon doesnt listen to its trainer when it says its
time to battle? Jeeeeze" Egress grumbled, crossing her arms.
"Clearly a badly trained one!" Shuppet seemed to agree, bobbing up
and down.
"Badly trained? More like not trained - I only got him today!"
Aquilo laughed. "I'm sure I'll get used to him eventually, but he
hasn't actually battled once yet."
Apparently insulting him was the way to get Trapinch to listen, and
the ant lion Pokémon turned away from the food he was trying to
eat, making a... um, menacing growl. "Rararapinch!"
Aquilo facepalmed, but decided to take advantage of the situation.
"Trapinch, use Sand Tomb!"
"Use Protect!" Aquilo instructed. Trapinch quickly formed a shield
of green light around itself, shielding itself from Shadow Sneak.
"I may be a beginning Trainer, but I know about the speed with
which Pokémon perform moves, and Protect will always go before
Shadow Sneak!" He paused. "Oh, and speaking of beginning Trainers,
are you one, too? You may think my Trapinch is poorly trained, but
your Shuppet couldn't even get out of the Sand Tomb without using
Shadow Sneak, when any well-trained Ghost-type should be able to
easily escape traps like that!"
"Trapinch, Bite!" Aquilo instructed. "This early on in your
journey, that will hardly do a thing, and Trapinch can make up for
the lost HP with a super-effective move!"
"Shuppet, dodge!" Egress said, flailing her arm in the general
direction of upwards. The shuppet flew upwards, higher than the
trapinch could jump. "use screech!"
"Feint Attack!!"
Trapinch was suddenly cloaked in a veil of darkness until it was
obscured by what resembled the murkiest night sky. When the veil of
darkness cleared, Trapinch seemed to have vanished.
Suddenly, a murky cloud of darkness appeared right behind Shuppet,
and Trapinch, enveloped in a purple aura, charged through, as if it
was shot from a cannon, ramming into Shuppet.
"Shuppet!" Egress said, as the ghost was squished by trapinch.
"Shadow sneak over here." The ghost pokemon dissolved in the ground
and over to its trainer. "You going for the badge in Beta?" Egress
asked, scooping shuppet up in her arms. "You prolly have a good
shot at it."
"That was a good battle!" Aquilo said cheerfully. "Actually,
though, I'm aiming to become a Pokémon Coordinator. Do you happen
to know if there's a Contest in Beta? I haven't planned out my
route yet, since I didn't know when I would get to start properly
training Trapinch." Suddenly, the gravity of what had just happened
hit him. He had just won a battle with a Trapinch he had never even
given a single command before? People needed to insult his Trapinch
more often...
"Yeah, right on the waterfront. You might be at a bit of a
disadvantage with that trapinch though, most people are going to be
using fish." Egress shrugged.
"Ah, that's unfortunate," Aquilo said. "I could catch another
Pokémon, but at the same time, I would really want my first Contest
to be won by my first Pokémon..."
"Dont know what to tell ya dude. You could always train til your
hungry little bugger evolves, or just hope for the best." Egress
shrugged. "I'm Egress, you are?" She said, shifting to hold shuppet
in one arm and put out her hand for a handshake.
