Outclanners have been making their way into the wolf
packs, plotting to take over. They plan to eliminate the wolves one
by one, starting at the lowest ranks. Gnaw wolves. It seems all
wolves are oblivious to the stench of the outclanners except for a
few. The ones who take the time to observe.
Sylvia
Name: Jinx
Gender: Female
Pack: MacDuncan
Rank: Gnaw Wolf
Age: Young adult
Appearance: She has a crooked wind-pipe, similar to the Whistler's.
She has a kinked tail and thick black fur, as well as the normal
green eyes as a wolf of the Beyond, though they seem slightly
golden. She's a bit large for a gnaw wolf.
Personality: She's a hard worker, and is enthusiastic and cheerful
about nearly everything. Jinx does her best to befriend absolutely
everyone, but of course being a gnaw wolf it doesn't really work
out. When she actually feels the need to, she can be calm, logical
and intelligent. (Though most of the time she's just chattering
about absolutely nothing in free moments)
Latula
Name: Midori (Why a Japanese name? Because this is my character's
name and I love her so much)
Gender: female
Pack: MacDuncan
Rank: Gnaw Wolf
Age: Young adult
Appearance: Midori has one green eye and one a pale blue, which is
blind. She has a smaller build than other wolves, and her rich
brown fur is messy. She prefers to not look at others with her
blind left eye.
Personality: Midori is quiet, but speaks up when needed. She often
comes off cold to other wolves, but is truthfully quite
kind-hearted. She tends to spend a lot of time in her own world,
but gets pulled out of it quickly. She has a bad habit of growling
a bit when someone comes up to her from her left side, and she's
gotten in trouble a lot for it.

(Would've posted sooner but my mom made me shower :p I'm just gonna
say there's one den for gnaw wolves or something)
Jinx rolled over as light began to filter into the small den for
the gnaw wolves. She heard pawsteps approaching but chose to ignore
it, hoping for a bit more sleep. Soon that sleep did come, but even
more quickly a sharp kick in the side woke her up.
Midori slowly opened her good eye as she heard Jinx yelp after
being hit. At first, she began to roll over and go back to sleep,
but turned again to see what else was in the den. Seeing another
wolf, she quickly but sleepily got into a submission posture. She
twisted her head so that only her good eye showed.
(Sorry for wait, it took me a bit to remember the term "submission
posture." XP)
After being kicked, Jinx moved into the submission posture,
wondering why they were awoken so early. She wanted to ponder it
aloud, but quickly stopped herself. That would be a bad
idea, she thought, waiting for the other wolf to speak.
The wolf that had kicked Jinx, a black male, thrashed his tail
impatiently. "The two of you are needed back at the pack. Bones to
gnaw and stuff. Just hurry and get your lousy tails over there!" He
barked, leaving the cave swiftly.
Once he was gone, Midori got from her submission posture and
stretched. "Great, I wonder what happened for us to get up so
early," she said, annoyed. Shaking her head, she began to leave the
den.
(I'm not too proud of my interpretation of the random wolf, but
whatever, I guess. XP)
"Heh, yeah. Didn't seem like he knew too much, or just didn't care
enough to tell us," Midori huffed. She quickly sniffed around the
den, then smelled what seemed to be rabbit. Turning with her good
eye facing Jinx, she asked, "Wanna catch a bite first?"
"Yeah. Y'know, I don't think I've seen that wolf in the pack
before, though," Jinx pointed out after agreeing with Midori. She
sniffed the air as well, detecting the scent of rabbit that the
other Gnaw Wolf must has smelled.
(And don't forget that Jinx's voice would be a bit like the
Whistler's is described)
(Hehe, I'd forgotten for a bit. Now I'm just imagining her voice
like I did Whistler's. XD And another part of me is assuming that
Midori is used to Jinx's whistly speech.)
"Hmm... You're right. I didn't recognize his scent either. Maybe
he's from another pack," Midori suggested. It shouldn't be too
unusual for wolves to switch packs. She followed the rabbit scent a
short ways, finding a hole in the ground where the scent emanated.
"Hmm, seems like he's in here..." She muttered.
"It would be a bad idea to chase it into there," Jinx pointed out
as they approached the hole. "It could collapse. About the wolf,
I've scented most of the other packs before and he didn't smell
like any of them. He smelled like.." Jinx couldn't quite describe
the scent. A small thought prodded the edge of her mind. The
vague stench of an outclanner. But how could the pack not
notice?
Midori just sniffed at the hole, deep in thought. Realizing that
she was still with Jinx, she shook her head. "Uh, yeah, he smelled
kinda weird to me too," she said awkwardly, having only caught a
portion of Jinx's sentence.
Jinx followed after her, catching the mystery wolf's scent trail.
"Hey, that Mystery Wolf isn't heading towards the pack," she
pointed out as the scent trail seemed to take a U-Turn.
"Really?" She asked, sniffing for the trail. Picking up the scent,
she shook her head. "You're right. Why would a wolf come get us if
he wasn't even going to the camp?" She asked, aware of how silly
the question may have sounded.
"Maybe to trick us for some reason? Then again, if something wasn't
going on he might have realized we might realize he wasn't from the
pack, and maybe this is a trap or something and so we should keep
going to the camp. But maybe that's a trap an-" Jinx abruptly
stopped herself, realizing she was basically going in circles with
the conversation.
"Who knows. Maybe there's a trap or something set up on the way to
the pack," Midori shrugged, following the trail slightly. "Maybe we
should follow the wolf, see what he's up to."
"I doubt he'd be that smart. If he was, he'd cover his scent
better and have made up a better story to get us out of the den. We
just need to keep our ears and noses open," Midori said. The scent
trail of the wolf showed that he obviously didn't plan on going to
the camp.
