Forum-Index → Roleplay → Private RP → New Explorations, Old Friends(NavuXAbby onexone)"It's not the wanting to help others that I have a problem with. It's choosing to help others at the expense of the mission when it's not needed. It's not choosing your battles. In case you haven't figured it out, yet, I really dislike violence when it can be avoided. This is because I've seen too much of it, and I've even seen innocent Pokémon killed for no reason other than 'oh she doesn't look right'. Even small acts of unnecessary violence doesn't sit well with me, as if it can be avoided, why should we risk harming others? And if the fights are already happening, we shouldn't get involved unless we know it's without justification. After all, if what's-his-name provoked the Feraligatr, then you getting involved was wrong. So there's no way for you to know that you were in the right, as you didn't know the situation and just dove in. Wanting to protect others is fine, but putting forth more violence in the world isn't," he explained, then closed his deep pink eyes.
Prince looked up as Sera made her way back over. He could see her tension and just gave a friendly smile.
"Seems like you two are tense, especially after a successful mission," he noted, then pulled out an Oran berry to offer to her.
"An Oran berry will help you recover from the battle," he explained, his demeanor being much friendlier than when they had first met and much more relaxed than when they were in the fight. He knew it wasn't his place between the Snivy and her partner, but the least he could do was offer her something as thanks for her help, and it was a little easier when he didn't have to deal with the Buizel constantly glancing at him with suspicion.
"So...well. I hope you are fine now. I mean, a Feraligatr against a single Snivy? You could have been hurt. I don't know what happened there, but I didn't want you to be attacked. The problem is my partner won't really understand that. I can not even explain it to myself" she sighed, then looked to Prince, who was most likely confused or perhaps didn't know what was going on. "Oh, excuse me. I usually don't start conversations like this...what about you and your...berries? You grabbed your bag before leaving"
"If I had the chance to take inventory before leaving, I might not have left. Fifteen of the precious food was completely wasted, and several of them are bruised now," he said, then shook his head.
"Sorry. My... I guess the right term would be obsession, with any food kind of bothers everyone. And about the fight, I'd much rather I get hurt than others. Plus, I'm pretty hardy, so it'd take more than that to bring me down."
If he hadn't been holding the Bonsly that they had brought back, he would have punched at the air on the last comment, since he was hoping to cheer up the other Snivy.
Even though at first the reply seemed to help, her tone got lower and softer as she started to feel confused. She sighed. She knew what she didn't want because of her own problems, but...was she like Lau or like Prince?
"Don't worry about replacing it. Food is meant to be eaten, and if it bothered me, I wouldn't have shared," he explained, then listened as she was confusing herself.
"I am hardy and can take quite the beating. I'm not insane, as going into that battle with expectations to win would imply. All I needed to do was out last him long enough to get away with this little guy unharmed. Which is why I told you to leave. The plan was that I'd keep him busy a bit longer, then flee behind you and your partner. There was no way to win against a massive beast like that when they are mad. Though he did do a fair amount of damage," he admitted the last bit a little reluctantly, but the bruising along his back and the scrapes on his arms from hitting the hard floor was clear proof of that fact. Injuries that would heal quickly, but that were still damaging from the outcome.
"Over here," Lau said as he came bounding over, a Sudowoodo following him. She quickly rushed over and picked up the Bonsly, glad that her child was safe and sound.
"I left your reward with the Pokémon that said he was in charge of all new teams," she said with a smile as she held the Bonsly tightly.
As she walked away, Lau's somewhat carefree attitude dropped and he turned to look back at Sera.
"So, what do we do now?" he asked with a tilt of his head.
I guess there's some things I must think about. I don't know what we could do now. We should go get our reward, but honestly, there are things that worry me a bit more than some money or similars. If you two let me...I'd like to go somewhere
With that short reply, Sera went out, without letting the others interrumpt her or tell her something before leaving. As she passed the door, she felt the breeze. "What should I do?" she kept thinking and repeating to herself. She couldn't help but worry about her partner, as if he couldn't understand her way to act, or at least let her do what she had to do, that wouldn't work. She kept walking for a while, not noticing she was entering a grove near the guild, with a shadow following her.
"I only accept berries as rewards, and that wasn't the reward, so feel free to take it," he said to the Buizel, then watched the reunited pair walk off before looking back after where Sera went.
The Buizel gave a sigh and ruffled his really soft fur, feeling like he did something wrong.
"It was our first ever mission, but it's clear that we don't think the same," he said to the strange Snivy before heading to claim the reward and talk to Machamp.
Prince stayed at that one place for a moment, then got up and slung his draw-string bag over his shoulder before heading outside. After all, it was starting to get late and he knew that he would need to find a place to stay for the night. A cold chill struck the pink Snivy and it made him tense. Something wasn't right, but it was just a feeling that he had, not something that he could really act on.
"What should I do? What do I do..."
That wasn't her mind. She had heard a voice that sounded almost like her, yet she hadn't opened her mouth. She heard it. She heard a voice. A voice in the calm grove, even though she couldn't see anyone around. Sera tried to forget it, not giving importance. However, she couldn't escape from it.
"What should I do? What do I do..."
Prince looked around as he couldn't shake the bad feeling. It felt like he was being watched or something bad was about to happen, which was never a feeling he much liked. He was also having no luck with finding a place to stay for the night, so as the last rays of the sun vanished, he found himself in a grove that was nearby, his footprints falling over Sera's own tracks. He looked down and raised one of his scaled brows, since this seemed like a strange path for her to take, but he wasn't one to talk, since he was only here to find somewhere for the night, and it seemed out of the way of the townsmon.
He looked up into the trees, trying to find one that he could climb. As he considered the possibilities, there was a nagging feeling that something wasn't right.
"Shouldn't there be some noise? Rattata falling asleep, Hoothoot and Noctowl waking up, anything," he thought out loud, realizing that the only sound to be heard was the leaves in the wind.
She suddenly stopped and turned back. There was an idea floating around her mind; knowing what was pursuing her and fight. No. Fighting was not the solution but...she would just be protecting herself right? Sera was ready to see someone and attack...yet there was nothing behind her. No Pokémon, no noise. She started panting, nervous. There was a scream in the tense calm of the grove, as she was hit by someone.
When he finally got to where he could see the source of the scream, all he saw was Sera on the ground and there was the rustling of leaves again. Wait, how were the trees rustling if there was no wind?
"What should I do? What do I do..." echoed in the silence, ever so quietly, surprising Prince as he closed the space between himself and the other Snivy.
"Are you alright?" he asked her, his light blue eyes darting around, trying to find what it was that he was hearing.
Sera slowly opened her eyes, feeling a bit dizzy. She was on the ground, but as she tried to stand up, she felt weak. She didn't have much energy at the moment, either because she was attacked or something else. When she finally saw Prince, the one asking, she felt slightly surprised.
"What are you even doing here?...Anyway I guess I'm alright, a can't really stand up that easily right now but...I'll make an effort" with some difficulties, she finally stood up, feeling something strange on her back.
"What happened?" he asked, though he turned away from her and prepared a magical leaf as he heard something again.
"Never mind what, for now. We need to get you back to your guild," he decided, as he saw movement in the darkness. He could feel his heart pounding as he knew there was something dangerous just out of view, which put them at a rather strong disadvantage. Especially when there was laughter.
"Run run, if you can." the same voice from earlier said a little louder, giving a dark laugh after.
"Listen, whatever is here...it will catch us if we stay. If we try to move, we'll most likely get caught too. The point is, that I can't really run and I don't want to put you in danger right now. I don't mind if you keep me company for a while, but leave and ask for help if there's a major trouble" Sera's words were totally serious and cold at the moment, trying to hide her fear.
