"makes sense" Bane repeated herself.

The intercome buzzed and announced the next match ups where

Ryu walked onto the stage to find a Venusaur Gijinka, the Pokémon who was to be his opponent. My best move to use here is Fire Punch, he decided, so he used Spark to Mega Evolve like he always did.
The Venusaur began to glow a vibrant green, and the ground beneath him pulsed with energy. Green rings of light spread from him all the way to Ryu, and while the Mega Ampharos was in the process of evolving, he was suddenly struck by a thorny, brown root... and then another, and another.
Constantly being whipped by the Frenzy Plant, and unable to do anything while in the process of evolving, he took a huge beating. Thankfully, Venusaur had to recharge, so the instant he was freed from the binding sphere of light in a burst of rainbow, he lit his fist on fire and rapidly struck the Venusaur Gijinka with the super-effective attack.
As Ryu's opponent took damage, he began to absorb white light and crackle with what looked like green electricity. The instant that he had recharged, the green electricity fizzled out, and a great Solarbeam was shot from his flower.
Ryu, having been extremely close to the Gijinka, was knocked all the way to the other side of the stage. With hardly any strength remaining, he launched a Signal Beam, but to no avail; it barely touched the Venusaur before fading, and the opposing Gijinka wasn't confused by the flashing light.
The Venusaur Gijinka created rose petals all around himself, and began to swirl them around. Using Petal Dance, he rammed into Ryu, but the Ampharos dodged just in time. "Two can play at that game," Ryu replied, cloaking the stage in a fiery light and entering a sphere of golden energy.
The two repeatedly rammed into each other, but the petals shielded Venusaur from Outrage, while the energy sphere shielded Ryu from the Petal Dance, until finally...
(Sorry that this took so long. Could an audience member please post a reaction to what I have before I reveal which of them runs out of energy to attack?)

"Wow!" Rythim said, sitting on the edge of her seat as she watched the battle.

Ryu's Outrage ended, making him dizzy and returning the stage to normal. Certain that he was going to lose, he was startled to see his opponent having the same reaction! If it was as tired as he was, he could end this in one more hit, but he had an extremely low chance of actually hitting his target when he was this dizzy.
The Venusaur turned towards Ryu. He began to charge a beam attack, though Ryu couldn't tell what it was in his state of confusion.
The four spheres on Ryu's tail started glowing, and turned a sapphire color. They each sent a beam of blue energy towards Venusaur, and then reverted to their usual red. When the Power Gem attack hit the Venusaur, who was about to fire the energy beam, he staggered back and lost his focus. The Grass and Poison type's now-recognizable Hyper Beam exploded due to the lack of the energy necessary to properly control it. Ryu stepped back and avoided the explosion, but when the smoke cleared, it was obvious that Venusaur hadn't been so fortunate. The Gijinka who had nearly defeated Ryu was quickly taken away by the medical team. Almost immediately after winning, Ryu crashed onto the couch in the waiting room and used Rest to quickly recover.

flare looked around the town he had lost all he had his money his home his berry stand he had nothing left he was badly injured and he walked slowly into a shop across from the apartment building and pokeball building it said hiring! "could i get the berry picking job?" flare asked (someone play as the shop owner?)

Bane started her match against a Froslass gijinka. She bowed to the Frosslass and than dropped to the ground as an Ice beam was aimed at her. "Oh, how kind" She grumbled. firing a shadow ball at the Frosslass and using it as a minor distraction, taking advantage of the frosslass's dodge, she managed to use shadow claw, sucker punch combo. It wasnt the most flashy of attacks, but it allowed her to use the shock of knocking the frosslass back a bit to fly upwards.
Frosslass launched a array of Ice Beams and Ice shards at Bane, who managed to get hit mainly by the Ice shards. Bane took advantage of a minor lapse in the ice attacks to launch a strong Will o wisp, and drop to the ground. Once the Frosslass managed to focus enough after the Will o Wisp, She launched a Ice beam, Ice shard combo at Bane, Who retaliated with a Shadow ball Will o wisp combo, mimicing the other Gijinka's combo.
(Pretty much Ice beam surrounded by ice shards and Shadow ball surrounded with will o wisps. someone else post an opinion before i reveal the end!)

The store clerk looked at Flare warily. "You any good?" He asked the gijnka.

"i was at the contest today and lost... but i used to have a shop where i picked my own berrys and cooked them then sold them but it was burned down along with my house" flare said

"Hmm... Well I have a few spots opens, so I guess I can hire ya," the owner said, reaching his hand out to Flare. "When can ya start?

"whenever" he said "i have nothing else to do"

"ok.. do you have a list of what berrys im suppose to get?" flare asked coming into the back

The owner looked at the list, then back at Flare. "You can go ahead and start with the Cheri berries."

The audience went wild, seeing the glistening beam surrounded by crystalline shards of ice that was about to clash with a pitch-black orb surrounded by fire.

The ice shards melted onto the stage as they collided with the Will o wisps. Upon collision, Ice beam and Shadow ball exploded, knocking the two opponents backwards. The frosslass collapsed dizzily on one side of the arena and Bane, more or less used to the frequent explosions, managed to stay on her feet more or less, and floated above the crowd before landing in the arena and bowing to the audience as the frosslass gijinka was carried away by nurse joys chanseys. Bane walked back to the waiting room and discarded her over coat. it was singed and smoldering beyond repair.

Ryu woke up from his Rest and saw Bane.

"Hullo, I think we're facing off next" Bane said, while the contest paused for a minor intermission, so contestants from the last battle could rest briefly.

"Most likely. Are there even any other participants left?"
