Skylar brought her hands up and massaged her temples, she was way past her How-Many-Humans-Can-Be-In-Same-Room-As-Me limit... Well, she did grow up in Household of 6 but this was an entirely different thing. "In my opinion, you don't have much to lose. If we manage to be useful then it will be beneficial to both parties... If we get obliterated then it doesn't really change much on your part- But i am certain that we will try to avoid that outcome."
It's not like Skylar liked heading toward almost certain doom but it was either this or the outside- And she doubts that she could survive once these monsters overtake the streets. Or any other human in this room for that matter.

"Maybe it could work. Maybe all the humans will turn on Ather and we'll be forced to put down as many as we can before we ourselves die." They replied, reaching up to run a hand through their hair. Kiralu gave an annoyed hiss, taking to the air again and landing by Mauve on the desk. The new person just stuck out their tongue at the feathered wyvern in response.
"Well, look who finally decided to show up." Mauve said, reaching into her bag. She brought out a bottle of brightly colored liquid, probably soda, and tossed it to them. They caught it smoothly, and opened the cap to take a sip as she continued. "Do you know how long I was waiting for you? And don't say you were busy, everyone knows by now you can get out of anything if you try hard enough."

Skylar opened her mouth to speak up, paused and closed it again like a fish. She pressed her lips into a tight line, gears shifting and turning inside her brain (Metaphorically, Of course.) "I have to admit, you have a point..." And they did. A mob of confused and fearful humans could stampede this building to the ground, its residents and other humans with it. "But its eighter this or let your teams be slaughtered one by one- They may be strong but eventually they will get exhausted. This is a hazardous solution but it can bring a significantly higher amount of fruit." She glanced at others in the room, hoping somebody will back her up.
Skylar doesn't like playing the advocate. It's certainly the worst position she could possibly find herself in but she already made her choice- Stay here and see how things turn out. She can make up her mind about the rest later.

"Um... Skylar, is it? You are quite the optimist, haven't had one of those around for some time. I like the way you think everything might turn out okay." Sarcasm said, raising an eyebrow. Their eyes were pale gold, like a lighter version of their hair. It suited them. "Although, it would be nice to see that arrogant pygmy sprite with the White Roses trampled to death for all those comments he makes about his lightning-inclined cousins. I mean, obviously, we're the superior breed. But I'm sure I'd get blamed for that death as well." They pause for a moment, his eyes refocusing from whatever gruesome fantasy he was having. "Excuse my rambling. I'm Sarcasm Bellan. Don't bother introducing yourselves, I already know all of you by name."

Tristan just sat there, looking at the new person. They introduced themselves as Sarcasm and for some reason, they caught Tristan's interest. «So, Sarcasm, huh?»
He recalled Mauve mentioning the name earlier. «I assume you're my savior, as Mauve put it.»
He glanced at Mauve with his green eyes, just for a second, before he looked at Sarcasm again. He wanted to say something, but the words simply didn't come to him.

In the meantime, Mallory found his voice instead. Tris' gaze shifted toward Mallory as soon as he started speaking. Still quiet and a bit shaky, Mal said: «Why am I here? I - I am pretty sure I can't "bond" with any animals or creature.» His voice gained some confidence after he choked out the first few words, only to start trembling again as he continued: «I want to go home.»
He sounded as though he was about to cry.

Tris couldn't help but feel bad for Mallory. The short boy looked like he was maybe 12 years old, at least when one would go by his height and his features, and if that was his actual age, the poor kid would grow up like one of the Winchester's.
...

Maybe that wasn't the greatest example to go with, considering that some kids might actually dream about being like Sam and Dean Winchester, but it was the only thing that came to Tristan's mind at this point.

"Optimist? Certainly not in this life. But being completely honest - And saying that no matter what you choose there are going to be great losses- would not help our case, Would it?" Skylar managed to keep her natural deadpan expression during the whole conversation but now, there was a flash of amusement in her eyes. Naming their child Sarcasm- Their parents must eighter had a species sense of humor or were just completely heartless. She made sure to save the information about the supposed sprite on her mind, maybe there will be some use for it later, in the long run, there was no use thinking too deep into it now. "How wonderful to meet you, Sarcasm Bellan. I am certain that all humans in this room can cooperate well with Ather Academy and fight for the survival of both of our Worlds."
Her expression briefly changed to the typical Why-Me face as she looked at Tris and Mallory.
Tristan is an unpredictable time bomb and Skylar can't yet get a proper read on him and Mallory... It's not like Skylar isn't sympathetic, This child really knows how to tug at the heartstrings but Skylar sincerely hopes that he soon learns how to quickly grow up. "There must be a good reason why you are here, don't worry about that. You can eighter go home now and risk your life... Or stay here for some time and learn how to protect yourself and others. Which option sounds more preferable? " She said, addressing Mallory with voice shallow as a puddle. Hopefully, she will not have to give Mallory a full pep talk.

"Mauve-faei is far too dramatic. I simply made the vote to bring you here instead of killing you because I wanted to get out of that star-forsaken meeting. Altuchi, they can be quite annoying." Sarcasm replied. They seemed to have a few pieces of their sentences in another language, although it wasn't certain considering the circumstances. They took another sip of their bright drink, answering Mallory before their feminine friend could. Their voice was uncharacteristically gentle. "Mallory," they hesitated, as if mentally correcting themself, "you are a special case. While there is something non-human about you, it is unsure if you are exactly what we're looking for. Yuires halrio walwe, better safe than sorry. However, we believe you could still tip the balance. But if you feel uncomfortable, I will personally ask for you to be removed. Keep in mind, the latter will rid you and your family of immunity."

Tris couldn't hold back a silent chuckle at Sarcasm's words. That sounds like something I would do.

Mallory's heart made a little jump when Sarcasm mentioned him being a special case, and even more when they mentioned "something non-human about" him. Did they actually know about Madok? Maybe they also knew how to get rid of him!
He felt a piercing pain in his chest for a moment and the deep, daunting voice of Madok spoke up inside of his head: «Don't you dare even trying.»
The pain slowly faded away and left Mallory in an insecure, scared state.

He wiped his eyes as if he was wiping away tears, except he didn't actually cry. His voice still sounded as if he was about to cry, however, and Tris could clearly hear how scared he was. «What do you mean "Rid us of immunity"?»

Tris had a feeling what it could mean, but he didn't want to say it out loud, especially since it might be wrong and he already felt bad enough for the child. For a moment, he kinda wished to switch places with Mallory - he honestly wouldn't care if he or his family would get killed at this point, but Mallory probably loved his family and wouldn't want anyone to die, including himself. But then again, Tristan indeed had no problem with the current situation at all.
Though, now that he thought about it, a question rised in the back of his head. «Where exactly are our families anyways?» he asked Sarcasm. He decided to casually ignore the comment of Mallory having something non-human about him.

"Currently, your families are right where you all left them. There will be a letter explaining the circumstances, but they are not permitted to pull you out of Ather University. That is a decision each of you must make on your own." Mauve said. Conveniently, she didn't answer Mallory. Sarcasm sent her a glare for this, but she pretended not to notice.
Sarcasm chose their words very carefully. They seemed to have a bit more trouble speaking than Mauve, or any other human for that matter, but it wasn't too dramatic. Really, it was only noticeable if someone was to pay attention to it. "Immunity is given to each family member in the case of acceptance. No matter the current branded list, their parents and siblings are not allowed to be terminated or hurt by any student under any circumstances. That being said, if the accepted student fails or drops out, their family is no longer given immunity. If humans do end up as branded..." They trailed off, not willing to finish that sentence.

(//gently bumps)

"I'm very sorry, Mallory. Ather does not make a habit of bringing children into dangerous affairs, and I attempted to remove you from the list early on. Unfortunately, the stakes are much higher this time, it seems. They didn't listen." Sarcasm said. Their pale yellow eyes softened, almost turning sad, but there was also something angry in there. For a few seconds, the entire room was suddenly static-charged, and a whiff of ozone could be detected. However, the moments passed and they sighed. "Please, Mallory. Give Ather a chance. Don't decide right now, wait a little longer to hear the full story. After, you can choose whether to stay or go, and I will make sure it happens. No one will judge you for it. Deal?"

Mallory looked down. «Alright,» he said and nodded before looking back up at Sarcasm. «I'm going to give it a try».
After a short pause, a slight smile of amusement crept onto his face. «Children» was what Sarcasm said, and it honestly amused him. «You see,» he muttered, «I'm 16 years old.»

"You're what?" Sarcasm said as Mauve started laughing. "How did I not know that? I though you were twelve! The Board thought you were twelve! And stop laughing, Mauve, you were wrong too!"

Tris looked at Mallory in surprise. Really? He's 16?
He glanced over Mallory. He was short, his features resembled those of a 12 years old kid maybe, and his behaviour was... well, not quite mature if you asked Tris. I ain't mature either, though, he thought.
«Are you serious?» he asked doubtfully.

"Well, no matter what age he is, my speech worked. Which means I won the bet. Can't wait to tell Ten." They gave an evil smile, their sweet and soft appearance from earlier gone. It was as if they were Lucifer - beautiful enough to earn your trust before they pull the rug out from you and show their true intentions. The smile was gone when another voice spoke up.
"Tell me what?" he asked, poking his head around the doorway. For a moment, Ten glanced around, his pastel blue eyes taking in everyone's faces. "Oh. Newbies. I forgot."

Skylar had question marks written all over her face as if she wasn't even sure how to react to that. It's not like she wasn't familiar with this phenomenon- One of her Mothers could still pass as late teenager- but this...? 16 and 12 is a big difference.

If somebody told Matthew years ago that someday he will be friends with monsters and that his life will shift completely, he would most likely thank them for the much needed laugh- But his Friendship with Ten is less of a shocking plot twist and more of a puzzle- Where every piece just conveniently fell into a right place. As of lately, he was glued to Tens side at any possible moment (When both of them weren't helping around Ather) and so it wasn't a big surprise that he was currently standing on his toes, trying his best to peek over Tens shoulder. "Some actual enthusiasm wouldn't break your neck, Clover. We don't want to scare away our new comrades just yet!"

"I was going to harass you for being late, but I like your boyfriend, so it's okay." Mauve said, crossing her arms. "Why are you late, anyways?"
"A few liz imps got loose, so I helped gather them up again. And stop calling Matthew my boyfriend." Ten replied, stepping fully into the room. His face remained as unimpressed as usual while he surveyed the assembled trainees again. Doubt laced his voice as he spoke again. "This is all?"

Tris stood up from the chair and took a few steps forward. He stood face to face to the new guy and looked him directly in the eyes. «Think we're not enough?» he snarled. His voice sounded surprisingly aggressive, despite the fact that a few seconds ago, he was as cool as a cucumber. Something about the thing the guy said was upsetting Tris, but he didn't know what exactly it was that made him feel enraged.

Mallory was a bit surprised at Tris' reaction and decided to go between them. «Stay calm, Tris,» Mallory whispered as he carefully shoved him away from the new person.
He turned around to face the new people. «And you are...?»

"I don't know what to say, Thanks a bunch Mauve!" Matt forced himself to ignore that boyfriend comment because he really doesn't feel like dealing with that today- Or any day, for that matter. Does that make a traitor? Probably.
Matthew didn't change much in last 2 years. His wavy hair mostly lost its lilac coloring and returned to its natural blond but few locks still stubbornly held onto the purplish shade. He also gave up on braiding his mane, letting it fall loose well below his shoulders and onto his back. He didn't even grow taller, not even an inch. Fate was simply cruel.
If we ignore that he was breathing Genetic Miracle (Dark Skin and Blond Hair, that's not supposed to be happening) and small freckles that were just about everywhere and made him look like a cheetah, he could be considered not-a-complete-eyesore (That's his opinion at least, he actually looks quite nice- Not handsome by any means, but acceptably pretty with unique charm.)…. But of course, old enemy decided to make an appearance. The dark circles under his eyes were there for quite some time and it didnt seemed that they will disappear anytime soon.
As he entered the room, he felt his mouth go dry- Even though he managed to keep a soft smile on his face. This really wasn't nearly enough to get them out of this mess... "Matthew, Local Disaster. A pleasure to meet you all!" He composed himself so he wouldn't immediately shoot Tristan a glare, he said it himself- They cant scare them away on the first day, there is going to be another opportunity later on.

"Tenebris Calliyo. But Ten is just fine." Ten replied. He glanced at Tris, a dangerous spark in his eyes. "And I advise you to not challenge me, else you want to find yourself stuck in the Shade Realm. Or with a hole in your heart, depending on what exactly you do." He gave a small, humorless smile to accompany the words, and Sarcasm rolled his eyes.
"All right, tone it down a bit Ten-ane. You've established your creepiness level, you can relax now."

«Lame,» Tris replied, raising his chin a little. «You think I'm scared of you?»

Mallory interrupted. «That's enough.» He glared at Tris, then at the person who just introduced himself as Ten.
His expression shifted to a friendly, shy smile immediately as he turned towards the other guy who was apparently named Matthew. «It's nice to meet you,» he said, his voice now sounding softer. «I assume you already know my name, but I'm Mallory.»

Tristan just huffed and crossed his arms. He looked into Ten's eyes for a few more seconds before he broke the eye contact and looked to the side.
After a few seconds he asked himself why he was even listening to this kid, but he decided to not further question it. This situation was strange enough, maybe it affected his behavior as well.
