Two Worlds, Too Many Monsters (1x1x1 with Arwen and Noshu)
Forum-Index → Roleplay → Private RP → Two Worlds, Too Many Monsters (1x1x1 with Arwen and Noshu)Earth was home to many humans. They each had the gift of the Familiar, a special creature for them to bond with. Long ago, this trait had become dormant, and it supposedly 'died out,' leaving humans to forget about it over time.
Ather was a diverse land, full of halfbloods and humans, shadowcrawlers and drayons, and everything in between. Magic was more abundant than it was on earth, but so were monsters. A school of sorts developed to help fight against them, keeping the world at peace.
Then, with a ground-shaking crack, the two realities slipped together into one, forming Ather-Earth. With these two universes merged into one, tensions grew high, and danger was everywhere. Monsters soon prowled the streets among Earth-humans, doing what they wished as the students from Ather University scrambled to explain themselves to the ones they had to protect. People turned on people, lines were formed. Ather and Earth were no longer calm, they were on the verge of war.
Fortunately, a few lucky humans had their dormant gift awakened from the combined magic of the two realities. Ather students located them as quickly as they could, recruiting them to help fight the monsters. Good luck!
You may begin when ready, no need to make forms, we'll just describe as we go.
Earth was turned upside down and she like all other humans with basic intelligence, panicked. Especially when somebody found her while she was hiding in a grocery shop - Everything went too quickly, she couldn't even memorize persons face before she found herself in this room.
Her mind was one giant blank and there was loud buzzing at the back of her head, most likely caused by all this stress- Or an unknown presence. Maybe some kind of ghost overtook her, that wouldn't be too farfetched considering the circumstances.
She was sitting in the corner of the room- An empty classroom, by the looks of it- and was absentmindedly picking at one of the colorful beads in her raven hair. She had to face the doomsday at a mere age of 15- If Skylar survives this, she will have a heated debate with whatever god-like entity is up there... And yet, she couldn't help but be intrigued. Multiple theories were proven true and a whole new World opened up for people like her- Now they just need to stay alive to explore it and learn. And find a poltergeist. That was absolutely on the Top of To-Do-List.
With a new found energy she got up from the floor- Leaving panic behind now that the newcomer distracted her. "I don't believe that is an essential matter to discuss at the moment, Is it?"
She mimicked Mauve, crossing her arms and looking her straight in the eyes with a neutral expression- And yet she looked like she was looking at Mauve from hight above.
"And just to be polite," Skylar spat that word out as if it was poisonous "most names could be considered boring. Every name has been used before for approximately hundred times. I certainly hope you came to that logical conclusion too because if not... Well, then you have my sincere pity."
It reminded Skylar of one scene from a movie she saw years ago- Free-thinking Street Artist meeting a Privileged white student girl, the two eventually having a rap battle that somehow ended up with them forming an unlikely friendship- Of course, without the Friendship part. Skylar even had a similar sweater like that girl- Long sleeved and Cerulean blue without any marking. That movie had a good plot and the characters were interesting and deep- If they left out the Love Triangle subplot and an overabundance of songs it could be considered a really great movie. Sadly, Rotten Tomatoes got their hands on it and so it is now forgotten.
Tristan found himself in an unknown room. He took a moment to realize that it was a classroom of some sorts. The last thing he remembered was that he fell asleep in his room, drunk as always.
Well this is just great, he thought to himself as he fiddled on the pocket of his dark grey trousers to get out his cigarettes. I fall asleep happy about being outta school and then I dream about being in a school building.
He couldn't help but smile a little at his last thought, only for a split second. Yeah, more like waking up in a nightmare.
He silently listened to a conversation that came from one side of the room. He looked into the direction the voices came from, only to see two females. He managed to catch their names; Skylar was apparently the name of the young girl who was wearing glasses and just stood up. The other female was apparently named Mauve, and that weird creature sitting on her shoulder was called Kiralu.
That's one weird dream, Tristan thought to himself, silently cursing as he couldn't find his cigarettes. He slowly got up and walked over to the two, leaning against the wall and surveyed both of them for a moment. «What's poppin'?» he asked right into the conversation with an attempt of a flirty smirk on his face. He immediately gave up on it though and returned to a neutral, kind of bored expression.
Skylar reached out her hand, going to offer a handshake, but it fell to her side as she heard another unfamiliar voice. She looked Tristan up and down and mentally sighed, He already looked like a trouble- At this point, Skylar could afford to be just a little judgemental. She can always blame it on the nerves.
"You wake up at an odd place with people you have never seen before and that's the first thing you say? I don't know if I should be impressed with your positive attitude or call you foolish."
He shrugged with his shoulders. «Don't worry, I'm used to it» he said with the smile dropping right from his face, the reply was directed at both Skylar and Mauve.
This was the moment when he noticed another person in the corner of his eye. He turned his head around and saw a small, slim figure standing there. A quiet voice reached his ear and it was as if he heard the person talking to themselves. «Hey kid, you alright?»
The small figure flinched as they heard the voice of a stranger. With a quick nod they answered the question and came a few steps closer. They had short, brown hair and grey eyes, wearing a red hoodie over a grey top and black trousers. It reminded Tristan of a character named Tord from a show he used to love. «What's your name?» Tris asked.
The small figure answered quietly: «My name's Mallory.»
Tris kept his neutral expression. «I should prolly say my name as well. I'm Tristan. Y'all can call me Tris.»
The new kid seemed kind of insecure and really young. Tris refrained from asking about his age though. He figured that'd probably be rude.
At Mauve's words, he nodded. «Guess you already knew my name, huh.»
He bowed his head to the side a little. «Accepted for what, though?» he asked, for now not questioning who the heck that Sarcasm person was. If Sarcasm saw themself in him, they might get along, however.
Skylar certainly must have spaced out for some time, how could have she not notice that there were other people in the room? And a young kid as this... She felt saddened that his childhood was most likely taken away from him because of the recent events- Not even children were spared by the end of the World... Or at least, end of the World all humans grew used to.
It was quite hard to take all the information in without being a bit skeptical but Skylar didn't knew anything- Mauve certainly knew what was happening. Skylar has no other choice than to trust what she is saying. Skylar just has to play along... "I don't believe there is a point in asking if we have a choice, correct?"
"Ah, I suppose Earthens don't have them." Mauve replied, lifting a hand. Around her wrist was a thin silver bracelet, and a blue circle lit up on it, projecting an image onto her palm. It was a perfect replica of Kiralu in a hologram form, sitting back on his legs with his wings extended fully. His coloration was represented by different shades of blue, and his mouth was open to allow his forked tongue to loll, resembling a happily panting dog. "Since we have such a variety of monsters on Ather, we created the university to help train those who fought our enemies. But one person could not do all the jobs that needed to be done, so teams were formed. Each person on the team had a specific task. For example, I am a Talihen, or the main offensive fighter, and also take the position as leader. I weigh the opinions of my friends and make the final decision, along with landing the first blow on most of our enemies. There are many others, spanning many skills. An Alhike is the informant, but their best known for their work with animals. They often forge special bonds with creatures to aid our cause, and are aware of the knowledge needed to take down many monsters. Since you all have the gift of the companion, or familiar, you can pass for specialized Alhikes, although it won't be perfect."
Mallory for his part started fiddling with his pullover. He listened to the conversation in front of him. When Tristan mentioned something of killing monsters, he got obviously more nervous. They won't kill me though, right? I-I mean, I wouldn't be here if they would want to kill me. Right?
Doubt crept into his mind. They probably don't even know about Madok. So what if they find out later and then try to kill me? Will they see me as a traitor?
He couldn't help but find this funny, but he didn't show any sign of amusement on the outside.
Mallory interrupted: «And we're pretty much here to prove that we're not dangerous, but can be helpful instead? Or did I misinterpret that?»
She just nodded to show that she is listening, there wasn't anything she had to say...
"Personally, I think the whole thing's insane," said a new voice. There, leaning in the doorway was a new person. Whether they were male or female was unclear, but one thing was certain, they were incredibly attractive. Their features were soft enough to border on feminine, with tawny-gold hair long enough to fall into his eyes a bit, even part.. Their skin was flawlessly pale, and their body thin, but their face made it obvious they were Asian - probably Korean or Japanese, or whatever the equivalent was on Ather. They wore a simple pair of black jeans and a button-down white shirt, but it didn't diminish their model-like appearance at all, it actually suited them. Kiralu sat in their hair, much smaller now, and almost dull compared to the nest of woven sunlight beneath him.
