Marble watches her go, his head lowering sadly. he calls out after
a bit. "Wait....I'll go back, just...just this once." he whines,
hesitantly scurrying over to the two.
Her eyes immediately light up and she bounces in front of him.
"Well what are you waiting for, an invitation?" She laughs with the
stem of the berries still in her mouth. She headed back towards
camp going through the entrance. She stopped once they were fully
inside looking back at Marble and Snowpaw.
"Snowpaw you can go plant the berries and rest, you deserve it,"
she purred. She walked over towards Marble smiling a bit.
Snowpaw takes the fruit in her jaws and dashes off, beginning to
plant them near Whitestar's den. After all, it was Flintstar who
loved them most, and it was her den. It's also Whitestar's current
den, and Snowflank loved them too.
Marble purrs softly. "It looks like most of the cats are
out....What do you want to do?"
Whitestar purred. "great job, you get five points!" he purred. "You
may kill it now to bring it back for the fresh kill pile. we're
working on a squirrel for you to go after next"
She nodded. Wolfpaw picked her paw up off of the ground, bringing
it to the finches neck, she swiftly but powerfully slit its neck,
killing it within a instant. She then happily totted to the fresh
kill pile, dropping her finch.
Fern crushed some more of the red berries, using her paw to cake
the red juice over the squirrel's tail, leaving it a dull red. She
smiled at her handiwork and brought the squirrel back to Whitestar.
"She's doing pretty well so far, isn't she? It's too bad she hasn't
got a mentor yet, being her age and all. I'd do it, but..I'm not
really cut out to be a mentor, I don't think." She said with a
shrug. Wolfpaw would be a warrior by now, but she was kind of
trained by whomever else had free time instead, limiting her time
to learn. "After the squirrel, should we do another trial with,
say, a shrew or something? Or maybe do you think we should head
back? I hear that Marble's been in the area recently and I want to
check if he's in camp to say hi." She chirped cheerfully.
"Can we just do the squirrel first if thats fine? I want you to go
say hi to Marble, I know what you feel when you can't see a
friend." Wolfpaw smiled.
sorry i couldn't reply yesterday, the wifi was out the whole day
and even now all that works is my phone))
"Ivycreek?" Weaselmask asked, his tone a bit calmer now knowing
that the larger tom wasn't looking for a battle. "No I don't think
I've heard of a cat going by that name, not in a long time." Now he
was wondering why exactly did Briarsting even need to retrieve this
certain cat. The name sounded quite familiar, as if he had heard it
before, but he couldn't actually recall anyone currently in the
camp that would actually be called that.
(Eh, s'fine, as long as you're not inactive for too long :3)
"Perhaps she is going by a separate name. When I knew her, she
was... Quite ferocious. She had a temper like no other and was the
swiftest fighter I'd ever seen. Exceedingly loyal and noble as
well." Briarsting said, describing the she-cat from memory. "She
was deputy for a period of time before she vanished, so she should
be a good fighter, and a great leader." He said, hope and pride
swelling in his heart. He was sure that whatever Ivycreek was doing
now was elegant and brave. He had no doubts.
"Sunava dirt-faced sugery-tater ferret-eater!" Fern screeched as
she tumbled through some tree branches, catching her left hind leg
in a loop of vine. She had been trying to catch a large crow she
had spotted up in the trees above Whitestar while waiting for
Wolfpaw to return, since she had just released the squirrel,
Wolfpaw in close pursuit. "Whiiteeyyy, I could use some help
heeerrrreee." She called down below to her friend. "Preferably
before all the blood in my body rushed into my brain if you don't
mind." She usually wasn't this clumsy, but that strangely familiar
scent was throwing her off. She could vaguely remember that scent,
but she couldn't seem to place where she knew it from.
Wolfpaw looked up. "You got some trouble Fern?" She smiled,
climbing up the nearest tree, being carefully not to slip on the
branch she made her way. "We land on our feet, remember that!" She
leapt from the branch, biting onto the vine her weight forcing her
teeth to slide through the vine. Letting her grip go, she landed
gracefully, the vine would break any second.
The vine snapped, sending Fern tumbling towards the ground, until
she made a hasty twist in the air to right herself just in time for
her to land gratefully on her feet. "Of course I know that! I'm
like 12 moons older than you!" Fern laughed, playfully nudging
Wolfpaw. "Now you better get looking for that squirrel, before
something else eats it!" She chirped.
"Alright!" She trotted off, then turning into a stalk she found the
squirrel feeding on a berry. She pounced at it, catching it by the
tail. It scratched harshly. She ignored its claws and trotted back.
Whitestar snorted. "With all this noise, you'll wake up the whole
forest Ferntail!" he laughed. He paused before smiling. "I know she
doesnt have a mentor, but she trained so well on her own to be
completely honest. If she can pass this testing, she'll be worthy
of her warrior name."
Thunderflight watched as Snowpaw went off and looked around
noticing that the clan was unusually quiet. "You're right," she
meowed stepping forward to see if she could peek into some of the
dens. "I guess I should take you over to the fresh-kill pile. You
must be starving!" she exclaimed.
Marble placed a paw on the squirrel, slicing it with his claws into
neat halves, and he pushes one side towards her before leaning in
to take a bite. "How is clan life anyways? I mean, I only got to
experience it for a few moons" he snorts.
Thunderflight nudged the half of the squirrel over towards her and
she held it in her paws. She sighed a bit and replied, "It's
amazing and I love it. I especially like getting out of the clan
more now that I have an apprentice, but things haven't been going
so great. Snowflank died during kitting, and we lost Flintstar. Not
even Starclan knows." she frowned a bit fumbling with her squirrel
before sinking her teeth into it. She swallowed the meat and looked
over at Marble, "Maybe after we finish eating we can go explore the
territory together. You never got to fully see it." She made a
small chuckle and smiled at him.
"Flintstar is gone?... So who's your leader now? Switchfire never
told me about this..." he whispered. "I would love to explore the
territory though!" he purred, gulping down the rest of the
squirrel.
