"That was the plan." The Didact smiled. The Mantle's Approach started vibrating violently. "Unless you want to be fried, I'd get out of the way." The Didact said. The Approach scanned the predator. It also sent super-compressed energy towards the creature. Soon, there was nothing left to look at. "The Approach will cover us. You have still not explained what happened."

"There is a reason Skye actually did not want that Predator to find us." Galadriel said, as said Predator began to reform. "Unless you can erase it out of reality, it is staying here with us."

Skye groaned. "You just had to..." More Predators came. They were mostly mutated wolves, bats, eagles and cats, but they were roughly five until ten meters, dwarfing even Galadriel.

Some had crystals on their backs. Some had wings. Some had their spines, twisted and bent, which turned into something alike a thorn.

"You take the big one I take the rest?" Skye offered Galadriel, who shook her head.
'Not very likely to happen, Skye.'

"Were you not listening when I said that my Scattershot and Incineration Cannon 'erase matter'? The Approach just fries everything." The Didact said, taking out his Scattershot. He looked around. "You take all the ones on the left, I take all the ones on the right?" He suggested, already firing at the Predetors.

"Erasing matter and erasing something from the fabric of reality is two different things." Galadriel said. She waved her hands as several bolts appeared, and shot at the predator. The Apex Predator, (which Didact previously blasted) had reemerged. and it lunged at Galariel, only to have it's tail wrapped in Skye's fiery whip, as it chrashed back towards the earth.

Skye made two fireballs appear, as she flew up and they shot towards the Apex. Most of the other Predators tried to avoid Didact's attacks, but many of them were destroyed. Eventually, they did something different. The Apex roared as two mutant worms were summoned. They burrowed straight towards Didact, unseen and invisible to most.

The Didact turned on his Promethean Vision. "What the...?" He shot one worm but the other was still approaching and the energy still needed to recollect. The Didact used his powers to lift up the worm and shot it back at the Apex. "How you like the taste of your own medicine?" He asked.

(For further reference, the Apex is roughly 15/16 meters tall. For now.)
The Apex roared as it sent blast of blue energy towards the worm, as it disintegrated. It fixed it's red eyes on to Didact. Skye yelled as her whips cracked through the air, and a long and deep gash appeared on the Apex's shoulder. The gash was on fire, but the Apex paid it no mind.

It roared, as many new Predator emerged. Aqua had her hands filled with the mutated birds, while Galadriel was busy destroying every Predator that came near her. As a mutated boar charged right at her, she threw her magic at it and the boar was destroyed.

(Figures. Didact is slightly more than 4 m high. Weighing in at about 360 kg with armor.)

The Didact looked back at the Apex. He took out his recharged Scattershot and started shooting Predetors while heading towards the Apex. "I get sent to Earth..." He disintegrated a Predetor, "find three survivors in a non-habitable zone..." He dodged a Predetors diving for his head, "I'm fighting animals that remind me of the Watchers back home..." He broke into a run, "and this fifteen metre thing is trying to stare me down? Okay, now I am officially pissed!"

The Apex roared, as two more mutated worms emerged and went towards Didact. One of them ate him, though this went unnoticed by both Skye and Galadriel.

Skye cracked her whips as she was cornered by three mutated birds. They all were black, and their eyes shone with an unnatural light.
"Stay back, you spawns of hell!" Skye yelled as long, fiery gashes appeared at their underbelly, and even on the beak for a particularly unlucky bird.

"I'm having an off-day." Said The Didact, covered in mucus. He noticed digestive juices creeping around his ankles. "Oh, you chose the wrong Forerruners to ask to dinner." He said. He punched the wall of the gut, clean through. Before coming out, he removed his mask and shook out some mucus. Then he replaced it and turned back to the Apex. It roared. "Oh, shut the hell up." He said and casually aimed his Incineration Cannon at it and fired. "Might not kill them, but sure as hell is fun." He said. "Hey, let's get out of here!" he shouted, wrestling a Predetor. He broke it's neck. "Before the big one regenerates!"

"All of my wisdom, and the one good idea came from an alien." Galadriel said, as with a wave of her hand she, Skye Didact and Quill disappeared in a flash of white light. Then, they reappeared again in an abandoned house.

'Skye, are you alright?'
"Yeah, I am. Though you might have to ask Didact that question, too. He looks pretty gross, if you ask me."

'Does he remind you of anybody, Skye?' Galadriel asked the Mutant, who shrugged.
"His weapons remind me of a particular game, I believe it was called Hello or something of that sort. Why?" Skye answered.
'He reminds me of Fëanor. A little, but the resemblance is there.'
"Who?"
'Fëanor, a student of Mahtan, and creator of the Silmarils.'
"Hmm... he's your uncle, right?"
'Sometimes Skye, I wonder why you seem to have such a scattered memory. But yes, he is. Also, where is Curtis?'
"Who?"

The Didact splashed his face. His armor was considerably cleaner now. He looked at the small lake in front of him. He had wanted to swim, but checked that movement. From what he could tell, the water density was the same, but it wouldn't do to risk drowning in three feet of water. (Like everyone else in Halo does.) He walked back to the others. "Now that we aren't battling crazy creatures, how did this happen?" He asked. The Mantle's Approach had managed to locate them, but stayed away. It knew better than to reveal their position.

'Nevermind.' Galadriel answered back before turning her attention to Didact. "To answer your question, this happened because of an accident, which in turn caused global collapse. Trade ceased, and humans struggle to survive this new and harsh environment. Many have died, and many more are dying."

"And certain forces are coming to Earth. I suspect you're one of them, Didact." Skye said to the Forerunner, while she looked at the area. "Where are we?" She asked Galadriel.

'The plaza where we first met. I figured that if the Predators didn't hear your shouting here when we did, they would not hear it now.'

Quill blinked several times. "Ho... How, Di....did I get Here in a flash!?" Quill stuttered. Murphy got out of the bag and began to fly around the room, occasionly swooping down to get a normal, non-mutated worm. Quill removed his goggles and began to clean them.

'Skye, what are you doing?' Galadriel asked, a note of concern in her voice.
"It doesn't matter. Sooner or later, somebody will recognize you." Skye pointed out.
'I would rather it be later.'
"Do what you can today. Finish all you can today. Never delay. It may lead to ruin."
'Very well, but I will bind him so that he does not reveal my name. I will test him, as I have tested all others. Is that acceptable?'
"Yes. Thanks."

Quill looked up from his backpack and said "Nope. She does kinda look like the fairy person from the Lord of the Rings book that I once stole... Nope, No Idea." Quill told Skye. He then looked at Murphy, who was slurping up a worm. "Murphy, does she look like somebody that we know of?" Murphy shook his head and began to stare at Skye, with curiosity.

Quill still looked at Galdriel with squinted eyes "Nope, still doesn't ring a bell." Murphy hopped on to the floor and crawled at Galadriels feet.
