Ivy looked at Alli. "I-I shouldn't h-have, b-but dad was hurting L-Leaf, Vine, and I and I w-wanted to do something about it..." Ivy sobbed.

(Heh, bet you never knew this happened. Some families aren't as they seem. And for all Vine knows in other timelines, Ivy was dead and came back to life somehow. I always vaguely describe the history of my characters so that I have room for more interesting things.)
