"Some warning would have been nice." Faith grumbled. She opened and closed her wings several times, a few plates of armour finally locking into place. "You can take what you want, but the Queen will probably expect it back." Sliuril added. "I wish Sliuril would tell me things." Copper grumbled, glaring at the doorway where Sliuril had gone through. "Seriously." "That's probably a recurring complaint." Glaurug shrugged. "Anyways, can we leave now? The council's already dismissed." A man slid into the seat beside Glaurug just as he stopped speaking. "The King wishes to speak with you and your delegation, Anathema. Best make haste." Copper sighed, slamming her goblet into the table. "Come on." She muttered, getting up. Without waiting for the others, Copper practically rushed through the hallways. [Read more] |

"Thryssa is fine. A little desensitized, but we all are." Sliuril said. "And Faith, you're biased." "And don't you know it." Sliuril led them through the conference building and into the guards' wing of the palace. There was much less plant life here and the branches had been overtaken by solid white marble. They shimmered with enchantments and veins of liquid mana ran through them, supplying the entire palace itself with the evergybit needed to function. Sliuril gingerly stepped over a particularly large vein of mana before opening the large, ridiculously heavy door to the armoury. It was a large room vaguely resembling a warehouse. Rows and rows of shelves reached to the roof. Weapons of every type and strength imaginable were held here, from common swords and guns to war schytes and the unwieldy haladie. They were ignored. Sliuril strode past them and into the back of the room. There was a single door there - small, unassuming. She pushed it open with a flare of gold and green magic. This armoury contained only a handful of shelves and racks. The items here were arranged nearly and were clearly visible. Half a dozen armour stands stood in the middle. Sliuril reached out a hand, and one particular ensemble retracted into a simple gorget. There was a second of delay before it flew towards them and landed squarely on Faith's neck. "Hey!" The armour wrapped itself quickly around the agitated dragon. [Read more] |

"Best not to ask at all. It was unfair." Glaurug muttered darkly. Sliuril made the generic excuses for her and Jack, giving a final wave to a group of friends in the far table. Faith rose and flanked her, a wing extending to shield the elf from sight as they exited through a hidden hallway. Just as they were about to round the bend, Sliuril found their way blocked by Thryssa. "Sister." Thryssa said, his odd smile on his face. "It has been a while." "Yes, it has. Did the Battleplains kick you out again?" He gave a sharp laugh. "Hardly. I have been busy with the invasion. Your presence in the battlefield will be most welcome, as will Jack of the Void's." He gave Jack a respectful nod. "Your Court's work with the Crawler was superb." With his piece said, he walked off back towards the main room of the council. "...that was interesting." Faith muttered. [Read more] |

"Or they could pardon you." Copper snorted, causing a few of the watchers at the lower tables to hiss at her. "The probability of that is close to zero." "Is there anything else that needs to be brought to our attention?" Anheuser called out. There was a general negative response. He nodded. "Very well. By the will of the Empress, this council is ended. Enjoy yourselves." "Would you like to leave?" She asked Jack. "I have to go and check the armoury - you could come, or stay here." [Read more] |

"You shouldn't let them bother you, you know." Glaurug said as he speared a good chunk of roast meat. "It's not like we're here at their amusement." "I'm aware." Copper muttered. "Doesn't make it any easier, you know." The Queen smiled mostly to herself, listening to the back and forth between the guests and her children. They'd found some interesting characters indeed, but it was far past time for change. [Read more] |
