Floria stood up, shaking off stray strands of grass that had died and stuck to her fur. Linii had seemed to have fallen asleep, and her sides were rising and falling steadily as she looked the most peaceful that Floria had ever seen her. Granted, Floria had only known her for a few days, but still. After she had made sure that Linii would be OK, Floria decided to check up on Margo and Zaru. She had noticed what happened and became worried. Also having grown bored simply laying around, she figured that a little exercise would do her good. She was longing to discuss her concerns about the weather and their current position with Margo, who seemed to have taken on the leadership role in the group, but she wouldn't ask until everyone was fully healed. Trotting over to the now small cluster of Pokemon- the Flareon from earlier, Margo, Zaru, Eris, and a new Pokemon she hadn't seen before, who looked to be a blue Spinda with ice powers. Grateful for the Pokemon's willingness to help, she walked up to the group and sat down, introducing herself as Floria to the little Pokemon. "What's your name?" she asked. While she was speaking to the Spinda, her mind wandered over to the Flareon who looked to be sleeping next to them. He had grown close to Margo over the time that they had escaped, even if he seemed very closed off and reluctant for friendship, and she was glad that Margo had someone to confide in. [Read more] |

"Look, I know you don't like this, but it's the only way." "There has to be some other way to test the serum!" "Dr. Fern, you know full well that this final draft of the serum will only work on a living subject. We've tried plants. We need animals." "How do we know if it'll work?? Surely you can't be willing to take that risk!" "I know what I'm doing. This is the final sample, it will work, and we can examine the amplified animals once it is finished." "I still don't like this." "I am aware. We have no other choice though. It's the only way to help." "..." ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Labratory of Alternated Beasts Hello! My name is Dr. ~_--~__, and I am here to welcome you to your new home! This is the LAB, where we took you for a little experiment of ours that we have been perfecting for the last years. We are keeping you under containment for the time being as you are unused to your abilities as of right now. This room you are contained in is expertly designed so that you may test out your abilities whilst causing no harm to anyone or anything around you, including yourself. We will watch you as you adjust, and release you if we feel you are ready. Just know, this is the highest security containment center in the world, and you will not be able to escape if you try. Now, please enjoy your stay, and feel free to communicate with the other Tests around you! The walls are not sound proof unless we wish it so, when we turn them off at night and such, and if you'd like you can hit a button on your wall to turn the walls transparent so you may see your neighbors. Don't worry- hopefully they will not attack. A reminder that we have control over everything in this cell, and you will not be treated lightly if you attempt to escape. I advise you be on your best behavior, and try to enjoy your time here, because it may just be your whole life. Feeding time is at 7 in the morning and 8 in the afternoon. Goodbye and good luck! You blink your eyes open, your entire body aching as bright, white lights glare in your eyes. Your vision blurred, you try and blink away the spots from your eyes as you look around cautiously. You're laying on your side in an all-white room with a large window at the front, where a human with a long white coat and silky brown head fur is speaking to another human just out of sight. Once the human spots you are awake, they begin speaking to you in an upbeat tone. You're not sure what exactly they're saying, but it does nothing to lift your mood. As you sit up, you feel weird. Your entire body is not only aching in pain, but pulsing with energy. You look different, too. Startled and confused, fear begins clawing its way up your throat as the shock dies down and you realize what is happening. Glancing down, you spot a tag stuck to your leg with a single word written in human-speech on it. Miraculously, you recognize the word, and as the human finishes speaking and walks away to converse with the other human, you close your eyes and focus on the thought of your name... ![]() * No OPing, no controlling another person's character, keep the powers/animal reasonable, no killing off characters without checking with both me and the owner of the character first. * All PH rules apply. * Character limit is 1 so far, might change it to 2 if we don't get enough characters. Username ~ Skye_in_daSky Character Name ~ Holly Character Age ~ 2 years old in human years, about 14-16 years old in fox years. Pronouns ~ She/her/hers Appearance ~ ![]() (just the fox) Personality ~ Very cheerful but quick to jump to conclusions and is often leaping in headfirst and following her emotions rather than logic. Very friendly but almost a bit too energetic, this youngster is nearly a squirrel herself, despite having hunted them in the past. Often needing a friend to keep her in line but finding it hard to be social when she's so full of energy, Holly finds herself sitting alone while at the same time bouncing off the walls. She doesn't understand much of the world and only really knows what goes on in her familiar metaphorical bubble, and not much more than that. She is blissfully oblivious but tries to be as helpful as possible, even if sometimes her attempts to help just make things worse, which happens more often than you may think. Backstory ~ She comes from a litter of 4, though the siblings all separated at a young age when their home forest was torn down by the humans. She got separated from her parents and was captured by the scientists, being experimented on with the special serum and waking up with a whole new power set and ability. Animal ~ Holly is a (albeit winged) fox Special Power(s)/Ability(ies) ~ She can fly using her wings, though not very well, and she has the ability to cast fire spells and use a special move called Overheat, where the subject lights themselves on fire without hurting them in the process, and that fire can act as a healing mechanism or a battle tactic to amplify moves. It only harms those whom the subject wishes for it to hurt. It saps your energy extremely fast though, and it's impossible to use it for long periods of time until you can gradually get used to it. Serial Number ~ Z-775977 Other ~ Holly doesn't actually like hunting animals, but she knows it's how they survive and that without them, many populations of animals would become too large. Password ~ Foxes but what if bird? PalPad? ~ Yes! --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [Read more] |

Coby grimaced in pain, his side throbbing and his bruises aching. He hated not being able to help himself- he had been raised in a household that believed showing pain meant showing weakness, and he had grown up in a world where showing weakness got you killed. So yeah, he wasn’t very keen on asking for help or letting them know he was hurt in the first place, even if he figured that the longer he refused to help it the worse it would get. He really only let Gino help him when he messed up stupidly was because they never treated it like a big deal. They would simply scold him, only for getting himself hurt in the first place, not the fact that he was hurt or letting them help him, and then fix whatever he had gotten hurt. He missed them terribly already, but he felt that he would be able to see them later. It’s not like different houses are forbidden from seeing each other, right? Scooting himself backwards so he was resting his back up against the head of the bed, Coby tried to relax, his damaged rib making this a very difficult task. He decided to continue talking with these two kind people, try and befriend them if he could, and brush off any questions directed at his obvious discomfort. [Read more] |

After making many turns and opening many wrong doors, Gino came to a large, fancy door at the end of a hallway. Curious, though fairly certain this was not their dorm, they turned the handle and pushed it open, struggling slightly with the sheer mass of it. The door swinging open with a long creak, Gino stood in the doorway, astonished at what they had found. A library, stacked floor to ceiling with rows and rows of towering shelves packed tightly with all the books you could ever imagine in your life, and more. Quickly coming out of their daze, Gino glanced around, nervous that they weren’t supposed to be there, but they were dying to explore this beautiful and grand collection, so they stepped tentatively into the gaping room, soon finding comfort in the books and losing their sense of anxiety. As they walked among the tall bookshelves, admiring all the covers and straining to see the roof of the room, they wandered farther along, eventually coming to the end, with a door just as large as the first for an exit. Though leaving the beautiful library gave Gino a melancholy feeling deep within their chest, they didn’t want to be caught nor lose any more time to their horrible sense of direction, so they pushed open the exit door as well, walking out of the library and hearing it shut loudly behind them. Eventually finding the right door, they read the labeled slate above the entrance. “Crafty Dwarves” read the sign. Gino huffed, not very impressed, and clicked open the door, sending an echoing creeaak throughout the empty dorm. Flicking on the light switch to send a string of light illuminating the dorm in a shallow glow, they glanced around. Nobody else seemed to have arrived yet, which seemed funny to them, seeing as they technically got lost and distracted whilst searching for this place. Deciding on one of the beds on the far side to settle, Gino set their bags down with a huff, collapsing onto the bed, exhausted. It hadn’t even been two hours and they already wanted to go to sleep. Turning over onto their side, they heaved a sigh and closed their eyes, waiting for their extra luggage and their other dorm mates to arrive. Coby was amazed by every little thing. It was just so big and beautiful! He hadn’t seen anything this big since his world wasn’t completely demolished. He hadn’t even lived in a house this big before! Everything surprised him, and everything impressed him. He was excited and energetic, ready to meet new people and make new friends! Not that Gino wasn’t enough, but they could be… a little cold, sometimes, so he wanted other people to hang out with, especially if him and Gino weren’t going to be staying together. He didn’t want to be lonely and left out. Maybe he could make this school experience better than his last one. He was actually technically already out of school in his world, but he figured rules like that worked differently here. Besides, this place looked way better than his old private high school that was already barely functioning. Here, everything looked new, improved, and shiny. Everything was fancy, everything worked, and everyone was nice. So far. He split off from Gino solemnly, but was also excited to be on his own, as long as he didn’t break anything. So far, everything was going well. He was optimistic, and he was really glad he was able to come here. He was so so super excited for everything that was going to happen, even if he didn’t quite want to go back to a school. He became so enveloped in his thoughts that he didn’t watch where he was stepping, and he came to a staircase. Not paying attention, Coby missed a step and slipped, falling down and tumbling over the stairs, crashing down at the landing painfully. With a groan, he sat up, clutching his side, scolding himself for being so clueless. This was not the first time he had fallen down stairs, he just prayed nobody had seen. Struggling upright, he stood up and brushed himself off with one hand, while still clutching at his side, wincing in pain. He knew enough to know that his dorm was on the floor he had just fell from, so he would need to climb all the way back up the stairs, this time bruised and with a pained rib. Letting out an exasperated sigh, he began to ascend the staircase. After around 10 minutes of walking and many levels of pain, he finally found his dorm room. The one he was supposed to share with three other people. The labeled slate above it read “Purple Swans”. Still grasping his side, Coby pushed down the door handle and swung open the door, striding into his new home. Turning on the lights and sending a wave of electricity to illuminate the dusty room, Coby found a nice bed to set his stuff. Still waiting for the rest of his things to be delivered, he sat down on the bed with a grunt, his side aching and his ankle screaming. Bruises had sprouted along his arms and leg, and he sighed. Laying back on the bed, he decided to sleep while he waited for the others to arrive. Kicking off his dirty shoes, he lay on his back, his eyes closed. Though he couldn’t seem to find sleep, he decided to keep his eyes shut for the time being, trying to relax as his body throbbed in pain. [Read more] |

Gino stepped carefully out of the car and shut the door behind them, gazing up at the daunting building ahead of them. They weren’t used to this many people, and the noise was almost overwhelming. Anxiety trickled down their neck and made its way across their body with a shiver. Giving a quick shake of their head, Gino decided to get moving. No use standing here when there was a whole new school to explore. They had never seen anything this fancy in their entire life, and they weren’t sure what time this was, but they were undoubtedly excited to learn and study at this new school. Everything was new, and everything was big and exciting. As they grabbed their luggage out of the trunk of the car, a car they had never ever seen before, a million different thoughts ran across their mind at once, all swirling and diving across their consciousness as they took in what stood before them. Glancing over across the car, they saw Coby staring at the school and glancing around, and they could tell that he was just as excited as they were, though a lot more energetic. Coby noticed them staring pointedly and quickly got the message, hurrying behind the car to get his luggage. After he finished and was ready, Gino picked up their bags and clicked up the suitcase handle, dragging it as it rolled noisily over the pavement, heading towards the towering castle of the school, anxiety and excitement mixing to make an emotion they hadn’t felt in ages. They finished up their introduction with a cheerful tone, gazing around at everyone here. There were lots of strangers, all holding an amulet similar to hers. Still apprehensive and unsure whether or not she was dreaming, she fiddled with her hair, twirling a loose strand around her finger and then uncurling it, repeating this action while waiting for others to speak up. They had spoken with such certainty and confidence, yet their voice was entirely even and calmed. Coby was more than impressed, and he wished he could do that, but his voice had developed an uncertainty and shakiness to it ever since he went a little crazy. He straightened himself and fixed his posture, attempting to appear as non-threatening as possible in order to ease the girl’s concerns, but his hands still trembled, both from the sudden scare and also just being chased within an inch of his life. Arrow was standing obediently at Gino’s side, but Coby could tell he wanted to run up and greet the newcomer, for his tail was wiggling and he was trembling in excitement, almost as much as Coby’s hands. If she could find a good cave to shelter the Pokémon, then she could rescue everyone and they could wait out the storm. She noticed lots of other Pokémon battling the tides, and she wanted to help so badly, but she couldn’t help if they had nowhere to go. She told herself she was helping by searching for a safe space for all the Pokémon, and though she still felt bad, she pushed on, diving lower to hopefully escape the thrash of the storm at least slightly. Even though she was searching everywhere she could think of and looking for any possible shelter from the heavy storm, so far she had gotten no luck. [Read more] |

After some struggle, Cory thrust herself up with a final powerful stroke and her snout broke against the surface as she gulped in the air, rain splattering against her face as fat drops fell from the heavens and crashed against the choppy ocean top, wind slicing through the air at fur-splitting speeds as they stirred up the ocean and whipped rain against Cory's muzzle. Fighting the waves with every thrust of her tail and flap of her flippers, Cory gazed around for someone to help. She was an experienced swimmer and figured that there would be some Pokemon that couldn't handle these awful conditions. She could barely handle them herself, but she wished to help as many people and Pokemon alike as possible, so that's exactly what she planned to do. Ducking back under the surface, the water still swirling and thrashing as much below sea level as above, Cory thrust out with her tail and propelled herself forwards, balancing across the raging waters and cutting easily through the swirling waves. Dipping around and dodging various rocks and debris that were being swept away, tossed, and tortured by the current, Cory managed to gain some good distance and slowed down, keeping her eyes peeled for any 'Mon in need of help. She suddenly spotted the tail and hindquarters of a struggling Vaporeon, and she immediately dove forwards to help. Disregarding her tendency to never actually be able to help whenever she tried, Cory pushed herself upwards and broke the surface of the water, making herself visible to the struggling Vaporeon. Shouting over the thundering storm, she made sure that the Vaporeon understood she was only trying to help, before disappearing under the waves once more. Slipping under the Vaporeon's hind legs, she provided support with her wide back and allowed for a somewhat-solid surface to grip and hold on to, allowing the Pokemon to become anchored and supported while they regained their footing and energy. She wasn't quite sure how she was going to support and carry an entire Vaporeon's weight on her back while keeping the both of them afloat at the same time, but she had to try. It was worth it. The other person spoke, their voice shaky and unsure, yet still strong in volume. “My name is Coby, and I use he/him. What’s your dog’s name?” He asked. Gino glanced down at Arrow, who was wagging his tail excitedly. Giving him a gentle pat, they replied, “His name is Arrow. What are you doing with that cart of food? You are aware most of it is expired, yes?” The boy, Coby, nodded. “I know, but I made a new device that’s supposed to make any food edible again, even after it’s gone bad.” Gino noticed that Coby made lots of hand gestures when he spoke. Was that a thing that people from this time did? Maybe they should do it more often. Seeing as they were stuck here for the time being, they may as well make an effort to fit in. Giving a nod to signify their understanding, Gino responded with, “That’s nice. So you’re an inventor, then?” Coby hesitated for a moment before replying. “I guess you could say that. I’m more of an engineer, I enjoy building and fixing things, and I’ve been working on a specific little project for a few months now, but that’s besides the point. I’ve been making and fixing plenty of things to help me survive in this apocalyptic wasteland, including appliances and housing systems. I can take you to my base to show you if you’d like!” Gino would very much like to visit this person’s ‘base’, but they were unsure if they should trust him. They had not received much time to explore this generation’s new… everything before the end of the world, and now they needed to catch up with what they knew in order to survive. They decided it wouldn’t hurt, at least not too much, and agreed. “Alright, sure. Just no betrayals. Lead the way, Coby.” Making a little clicking noise with their tongue to get Arrow to follow, Gino headed off behind an excited Coby, ready to start fresh with this whole socializing thing. They seemed to have gotten it down pretty well, despite this timeline having very few other humans as it seems. Arrow ran ahead a lot and sniffed everything, his tail swishing through the air in excitement as he experienced everything. Coby struggled across the wrecked landscape, through the rubble-filled roads with his strange-looking shopping cart filled with assorted foods. “My base is just on the other side of town, we’ll be there lickity-split!” he reassured Gino. Gino could tell he was getting a little awkward, but they were fine with a little hike. It wasn’t too hot or cold outside and they hadn’t been on this part of town before. Just as they turned a corner, rounding on a fresh set of broken houses, Gino heard a squelching sort of noise that seemed to call out with a song-like melody. It immediately sent shivers across their back and they raised their staff, halting their footsteps and gazing around, attempting to spot the source of the noise. Coby appeared to have heard it as well, and he pulled out a pathetic-looking dagger with shaky hands. Arrow stopped prancing around and lifted his ears, a low growl forming in his throat. Just as Gino was about to brush it off and have them continue marching onward, a giant, slimy purple beast squelched around the road and spied them, its facial features immediately narrowing with a hostile snarl. It was large and purple, its entire body covered in a dripping, squishy goo. Its face was half made up of rocks and sludge, and it held a gigantic hammer in its left arm. It approached them with astonishing speed, obviously not there for a hug, and Coby screamed what they were all thinking. “RUN!!!” Letting out a sharp whistle that cut through the air like a sword to call Arrow, Gino turned tail and ran the opposite direction. “There’s a shopping mall we can take cover in just over this building! Follow me!” they shouted over their shoulder at Coby, who didn’t seem to be doing a very good job of keeping up with them. Arrow pulled ahead of the duo, barking to get the monster’s attention, and veered over to the left, bringing it off of their track and buying them time. Gino muttered ”Good boy,” under their breath as they continued pushing onwards, forcing their legs to carry them faster, coming to the ruined building and immediately throwing themself at it, climbing over the crumbling walls and broken stone. Reaching the top, they turned backwards to help Coby up the rest of the way. Pulling up their new friend, they gazed out over the city, quickly spotting the large shopping mall and nodding towards it, barely registering the nod they received from Coby as they leapt down the ruins, soon reaching the bottom and letting loose another sharp whistle to call Arrow back before sprinting in the direction of the large span of connected stores that was the city shopping mall. Not even bothering to check if Coby was following, they let their legs take over as they pushed harder and farther into the midst of the wrecked city, everything either dirty, broken, on fire, or some mix of the three. With a final push, Gino rounded the final corner and spotted the ruined shopping mall, hope lighting up their heart and spreading a smile across their features. Running as fast as they can and hearing the monster roar, they jumped inside of a rough hole in the wall and finally looked back. Their heart sank like a stone when they noticed that Coby nor Arrow were anywhere in sight, but it soon fluttered back up with joy as Coby fell around the corner with a stoic dog in tow. Yes, Coby literally fell around the corner and, looking around wildly, soon spotted Gino from inside the mall and scrambled up off the ground, sprinting towards them. Diving inside and pulling Arrow in after him, the three of them quietly snuck away to find a place to hide. Taking cover in a candy store that had long since been emptied and abandoned, the sign nothing but an empty void of once-neon letters, they heard the stomping squelch of the monster’s footsteps gradually fade from hearing range. Believing themselves to be safe, Gino and then Coby (with Arrow) stepped out of their hiding place and looked around cautiously. Finding no threats in the area, they decided to explore, taking advantage of the situation to find some new foods to go back to Coby’s base and experiment with, as they had to leave the shopping cart when they were running for their lives. (yes, this is when Artemis can find them, but whenever you want) [Read more] |

He had been hearing strange noises for the past week or so that did not sound like anything he had ever heard before, especially since he hadn't heard many sounds of life, and it gave him the chills every single time. Smoke billowed from countless buildings as they crumbled, ruined houses and once powerful companies falling alike, all slowly fading away to nature and its horrible consequences of our horrible actions. Coby eventually spotted the store he was looking for and let out a happy noise, running forwards to reach it. Half of the building had crumbled away, revealing the near-destroyed inside of the store, but most of the food still looked salvageable. Grabbing a rusted shopping cart that was missing 3/4 of its wheels, Coby ran through the store, grabbing everything he could find, finally hopeful he wouldn't starve. After finding everything he needed, he left quickly, eager to escape that place. Not much could survive out here, and most of the creepy-crawlies he was scared of had long since gone extinct, but he still felt uneasy about such big buildings. As he made his way through the ruined town, one of the only surviving places anything could live on this planet, he struggled to keep his cart from falling over. He eventually got it about halfway through the town before he forgot where he was going, and had to regain his sense of direction. His home was set inside of a dead tree, he had built it himself and it was wired with lots of different gadgets to make it more fun and accessible for him and anyone he chooses to allow in. If anyone wanted to get in, but he didn't know if anyone else even survived the Fall, or if there was anyone else living in this trash heap. He soon figured out which way he needed to go and started off again, struggling through the crumbling town with his crappy cart. Suddenly, Coby heard a shrill, loud, almost hollow sound, ringing out against the still air and reverberating through the buildings, sending a chill down his spine. What was that? Nothing could have survived out here, could it? Where did it come from? There was no way anything else had survived, it was a miracle he had survived this long himself. Had he simply imagined it? Then he heard it again, that same sharp, hollow sound that rang out across the area, sending fear striking through his mind. He grabbed the dagger that he had made from cutting down a rock into a sharp edge and held it out in front of him shakily, fear and panic grasping at his chest. The shrill, sharp barking sound continued, becoming more frequent yet still inconsistent, and gradually growing closer by the heartbeat. Soon, a creature's figure emerged from over a pile of rubble, leaping through the ruins and rushing towards him, making that loud and hollow sound. When Coby recognized the animal he was so shocked he nearly dropped his dagger. It was a dog. The dog looked to be a blue heeler in breed, and was barreling towards him at an astounding pace, yet it didn't look threatening, but more... friendly. Coby put his dagger away and braced for impact as the dog jumped up at him, knocking him back onto the ground and wagging its tail, licking his face enthusiastically. Just then, Coby heard a voice. "Arrow, off." The dog immediately perked its head up and clambered off of him, still wagging its tail and panting heavily. Coby stood up and brushed himself off, wiping dog slobber off of his face. As he looked up and around for the voice, he saw something that made his heart leap into his throat. He knew where the voice had come from. It was another human. He wasn't alone. [Read more] |

Character name: Gino Gender: Genderfluid (they/them for now) Appearance: ![]() Age: 19 With anyone? Not at the moment, but they will catch feelings for Coby in the future. Backstory: Gino does not actually come from this time- they come from about 200 years in the past. Before the war had started. They have the ability to time travel thanks to the peculiar-looking pendant on their neck, and they accidentally got stuck in this time. The pendant appears to be broken and Gino has no idea how to fix it, so they're stuck here until they can get home. In the meanwhile, they need to learn how to survive in this desolate wasteland before they starve or just plain go insane. They don't have good memory due to the time travels and keep a memory book stored with everything they've collected that they wish to remember, but they still remember very little about where they came from and they're forgetting more each day. Other: A very quiet child, yet a good listener and very sharp. Able to pick up and put down things quickly, and are good at learning and trying new things, despite them being cautious and shy at first. Loyal and hardworking, Gino is a wonderful friend, but they can be a little blunt and slow sometimes. [Read more] |

Character name: Coby Hevenn Gender: Male (he/him/his) Appearance: ![]() Age: 19 With anyone? Not at the moment, however he shall catch feelings for another one of my characters- Gino (I’ll make a form for them soon) Backstory: Coby came from a family that was highly involved with the “bad” side of the war, providing funds and resources to the supporting side. His family was extremely rich and popular and it was lucky to have them on their side, though many feared and despised them. Coby never really liked his family, and his family never really liked him, but they managed. His family wanted him to go off and fight in the war when he became old enough, but he hated violence and refused. He enjoyed science and math and reading, and he figured out that the war was causing the earth to crumble, fading away bit by bit. Soon enough the entire world would die and fall apart, leaving only a small portion left that will become a wasteland, inhabitable to humans or any forms of life. He tried sharing this information but nobody would listen, and soon enough, his theory came true and the world fell apart. The war was over, but so was the world, and everything was gone. Coby was devastated and did not take living in solitude very well. He went a little crazy and became slightly unraveled, talking to himself a lot and thinking of crazy ideas that would never work or be safe. He used his wits to survive and scrounge for food, and has survived in The Dead Land for years, slowly and quietly going insane. It’s mostly just the isolation, I’m sure if he had a friend it would get better, but he has yet to find another survivor. Yet… Other: Naturally curious and inquisitive, Coby is a very smart person and enjoys learning new things. He used to be very cautious, but since he went a little crazy he became daring and adventurous, never truly settling down and never quite taking account of the risk- instead, always taking the risk just because you never know what’s on the other side. Fun-loving and kind, Coby is the perfect friend, and he loves people, there just aren’t that many people left for him to love. Very nice boi, enjoys baking, was able to build some technology to keep himself alive with the few tools and resources he could find, extremely intelligent and intuitive. [Read more] |

She tilted her head back and let out a sigh. All of this was exhausting, and the bags under her eyes grew harder and harder each day to disguise. Not that anybody would care if they did notice, but her lack of sleep had started to get to her. She had become more snappier and irritable than usual, less calculated, more impulsive. Everything felt timed, judged, and tedious. She knew it wasn't healthy, but haunting memories don't simply vanish because you told them to. With a very heavy huff, she sat up and let loose a whistle, loud and sharp, ringing across the city, reverberating through the still, sleepy air. In mere moments, a black figure appeared and only approached closer from the distance, flying in to meet Freja. She smiled and held out her arm. In a matter of seconds, and sleek black raven flew in and perched on top of the extended limb, twittering a song. Freja laughed. "Well someone's in a good mood today, aren't you, buddy?" she said, stroking the top of her friend's feathery head with her finger affectionately. Eren gave an early morning cry in response. Freja smiled. "What do you say we go and greet our spouse for breakfast, hm?" she asked. Eren tweeted and flapped his wings, rising off of her arm and fluttering around. Freja stood up and brushed herself off, climbing back down into her room's window to get dressed. After slipping into much more fitting clothes- a purple long-sleeved shirt with a beautiful owl design printed on it and light grey pants -and braiding her hair back after brushing it out, she allowed Eren to rest on her shoulder as she closed her window and opened her door, shutting off the bedroom light and slipping quietly into the open house. Immediately being met with a delicious aroma, Freja could smell cooked pancakes drifting up from the kitchen to meet her nose. They smelled delectable, but Freja was still apprehensive. Making her way down the stairs, her socks slipping across the hardwood floors quite easily, Freja entered the dining room to see Izumi already sitting at the table with ready breakfast plates, seemingly waiting for her. Suddenly feeling awkward, Freja nodded in greeting and gestured to Eren to sit somewhere else. "Good morning, Izumi," she said, her words slipping out with only a trace of bitterness. She felt less willing to start a rivalry today, possibly due to the simple lack of sleep, but she was willing to start over with Izumi. "I hope you don't mind my friend joins us for breakfast. I just felt you should meet him so he doesn't cause any surprises. His name is Eren." At the mention of his name Eren gave a small tweet. Freja pulled out a chair and sat down across from Izumi, awaiting his reply. [Read more] |
