There was a moment of silence as Sorrento blinked the grogginess out of his eyes before he focused on Star. While he was grateful for the group alliance, he still couldn't bring himself to trust anyone aside from Ariel so he just gave her a tight lipped smile. "Well enough." He agreed. Narrowing his eyes slightly, he could barely make out the lines of exhaustion that ran across Star's face and he sighed. "Go rest, I'll take over watch until the other wake up." He suggested. It wouldn't do to have one of his allies out of commission due to a lack of sleep

She wasn't even aware that morning had come, having made herself comfortable within her small hideout and watching over their shared campsite. Narukami only registered the passage of time when the sun rose and even then it took her well over an hour to extract herself from her hiding hole. Sometime during the daylight hours, she thought she had heard a scream but had dismissed it as a figment of her imagination. A canon hadn't gone off either so she was content to leave whatever that was alone. Shaking her hair free of dirt, she slowly crept towards their tent and entered, relieved to see that T'val was still soundly asleep.

Perhaps it was the fact that he was with his wife or he trusted the others enough to do so, but Sorrento woke up in stages, senses returning to him bit by bit. First it was his hearing and then it was the sense of touch. Slowly but surely, Sorrento dragged himself from his sleepy haze, moving carefully as to not wake anyone else up.

Ah, some of them had been people he had tried to twist to his side. Sorrento sighed but catalogued which other tributes he had talked with, suggesting to them ideas. He didn't know if any of them would actually act on what he had said but he could only hope. Dipping back into the cave he smiled as he saw Ariel up and awake, eating something. "How are you feeling?" He asked lightly, not wanting to disturb her.

"Get you're beauty sleep." Naru only replied with a light laugh, taking up point outside. She used the hollowed out tree roots from before to scope out the place, giving the area a sense of emptiness but it still gave her enough room to rush out and attack if anyone did come by. Her bracers were still on her hands so she didn't have to worry about drawing a weapon and the blanket chased away most of the coldness so Narukami settled in for a long night, watching the faces of people she had killed flicker across the sky

Sorrento smiled, seeing how the pair really did love each other but was jolted out of his thoughts by another canon sound. So that was eight people dead. Shuddering at that thought, he turned his gaze to the sky expecting the role call to happen soon.

Nodding, Narukami smile and handed over her bag of warm fabric, taking a blanket for herself. "I'll take first watch. You look tired." She offered voice warm as if she was in a far away memory. Perhaps she was, the enclosed warmth reminding her a lot of the pillow forts her mates liked to indulge in once in a while, impromptu sleepovers in their living room a monthly affair.

"Feels like forever." Sorrento answered with a chuckle. "But I think it's been two maybe three years now." Finishing his small portion of food, he carefully packed away the remaining food so that Ariel could eat when she woke up. "And you? How long have you been married?"

Narukami nodded, impressed with the knowledge that T'val showed about camping. The survival aspect of things was something that Narukami still was pretty bad at so she was glad that she at least had a partner who seemed to know what she was doing. "Do you want to do a quick scout of the area or just hunker down for now and rest?"

Sitting down by the fire, Sorrento began to slowly cook the largest of the four fillets that he had as he worked in his mind how to divvy up the portions. The most logical would be to give the girls all a fillet of their own as he and Salvadore shared the last one so thats what he ended up doing, handing out the cooked meat to each of his allies and settling down beside his sleeping wife, unwilling to wake her up.

With a final tug, the stitches were done and Narukami slapped on an adhesive patch to keep it from opening again. They really were lucky that they had materials suitable for survival and Narukami packed away the first aid kit, slipping on one of the spare shirts. It was miles more comfortable than the mildly ruined wet suit that she ended up tying around her waist. The extra shirt would be ineffective in battle but for now as they attempted to survive it would suffice. Poking her head into the tent, she smiled thinly at the spread of camping gear that she could see. "Put a shirt back on." She informed, sitting down beside T'val. "Do we have any food?"

A string of expletives left Sorrento's mouth before he pursed them together, the blood finally having tapering off into slow drops. "Lets go back. Night's falling." He finally said as he swiftly gutted and cleaned up the fish while he was still a ways away from their hideout. The flesh was much softer than what he was used to, the knife sliding through and butterflying the meat beautifully.

Narukami replied with a light pained grunt as the needle passe through her skin, beginning the process of stitching and healing the wound. It had been a deep one, the knife having made rendezvous with her guts but it thankfully hadn't hit anything vital. How that happened was beyond Narukami's understanding but she was thankful that she was still alive.

Hissing in anger as the canons scattered the fish away, Sorrento sighed and stepped out of the water with two fish in hand. "That's a surprise. I thought there was more..." He grumbled mostly to himself. Gripping one of the knives he had taken from star and slit a line at the back of the fishes head, letting the blood drip into the bushes. It was a dangerous choice to make but he didn't want to get anything into the water just in case it chased away the fish and they lost the only source of meat they reliably had.

"I'm taking off my shirt." Narukami announced to T'val and shrugged her upper body out of the uncomfortable wet-suit to access her wound better. She didn't know how to set up a tent so left that up to her partner who seemed to know what she was doing. Instead she gingerly prodded at her wound hissing both at the pain and the cold air on her body. Popping open the medicine kit, it looked like there was medical sutures, antiseptics, rolls of gauze, plastic gloves, adhesive bandages, tweezers, and patches of cotton but no iodine. Which was going to suck but at least they still had a means of healing. Biting her lip, Narukami picked up the cotton and cleaned up the wound in preparation for being stitched up.

There was a long blink and Naru let out a sigh of relief. "We are so lucky." She murmured, setting her own pack down and opening it up. It contained a bed roll as well as extra clothes, a small blanket, matches, and an empty flask. It looked like a bag primarily containing items to keep the owner warm and she thanked her lucky stars that it still had use within this context. "Alright, lets set up the tent and we'll see what we need to do."

Sitting down by the banks, Sorrento surveyed the water. It seemed like it could house life an stuck a finger into the water, using the ripples to look for anything. There were a few pings and he grinned. "Bingo. We have meat." He whispered to himself more than anything and got to work, closing his eyes and concentrating hard on sending out ripples of water to chase his prey closer to him so that he could grab them at an opportune moment.

So the only weapon they had was wire, rope, and a few knives. Nodding at that, Sorrento glanced over at his wife. "Ariel are you sure that you're okay? You should probably rest. I can go fishing for us." He asked, checking in with her. He tuned out the others as he focused on her.

Glancing at the mirage, Narukami decided to leave it be and keep forging on. Soon the pair came to an old tree where the dirt under its roots had been slightly cleared out, leaving enough space for two teenagers to squeeze in and still have a little bit of room. It wasn't going to be a fun camping area but it would suffice. Glancing back at T'val, she gestured towards the potential area that they could hunker down it. "Good enough?" She wondered

"I have rope." Sorrento shrugged, unraveling the aforementioned material from around his shoulder. "Like i said in my interview I know a lot of different knots so this is basically the best thing I could have grabbed in terms of self defense."

"Gimmie a sec," She grunted, kneeling down to pop open one of the crates lying around them. Rummaging around, she let out a soft aha and drew out a medicine kit. "Alright let's go. I don't want to stay here any longer than I need to." Grabbing a bag of her own, she began to head inland, one hand pressed over her stomach where the wound was located

Sou made a little yelp as the horse began to move, hands darting forward to brace the young boy and prevent himself from falling off. It was a whole new experience, riding on a horse and he watched with wide eye wonder at how fast the landscape was going past. Very rarely did he go to the city through the front gates often using the servant designated door instead so this was all new and exciting for the boy.

"I got stabbed. With a knife." She agreed a bit dully, looking down at the knife sticking out of her side. "My knife now." Pulling the blade out with a grunt, she sat up and glanced over at the dying boy before quickly turning away in favor of looking over T'val and seeing if she had any wounds. It didn't look like it so she got up, swaying slightly before finding her balance. It was a bit hard to hold a knife along side the gauntlets she wore so it would probably be more useful as a secondary back up weapon.

Warily approaching the hole, Sorrento snapped his fingers, letting the sound echo softly in case there was something else living within that hole or any dangers that he should know about.

As the five of them seemed safe from harm, Sorrento clapped his hands again, the second growing sound wave slowly cancelling out the first. He had only wanted to stall for time, not kill. He didn't want any blood on his hands. After checking to make sure that the waters were calming down, he slipped into the forest on the heels of his allies. "I can scout ahead." He called out, hands coming together again, this time allowing an image to come into his mind rather than pushing the sound wave away. It took a while to locate something that could be a body of water and began to lead the way.

There was the sound of sinking sand beside Narukami and on instinct she lashed out, gauntlets sinking deep into someones stomach and she got an armful of blood for her troubles as her opponent stumbled away. "I'm really sorry." She apologized before using her elbow to ram the tributes head into a container, the impact snapping her neck cleanly. Standing over the dead tribute, Narukami suddenly felt her blood run cold as the reality of her actions sunk in. She had killed someone. Took a life. It wasn't like those school yard brawls where her victims would be patched up, that was a girl who wouldn't be getting up ever again. That fact chilled her as she stood there, not noticing someone tackling her to the ground until it was too late and her head cracked painfully against a box, stars bursting in her vision and pain bursting around her abdomen where a knife had stabbed into her. "Get off me!" She roared, yanking her opponents hand away from the knife handle and wresting with him, desperation forcing her to struggle for her life

Naru... didn't know how to dive. Sure she swam to keep in shape, knew the four basic strokes, and could flip off the wall but diving? Nope. So instead she ran straight at the person who was unfortunately stuck beside her and tackled the tribute into the water. The tribute struck his head against the platform and Narukami for good measure took the dazed tributes shoulders and rammed his head into the platform again and again until the water around them was dyed pink before she finally let go of the dying tribute and kicked her way up to the surface. Taking a gasping breath of air, she began to swim towards the island as her powerful butterfly stroke drew the attention of other tributes, terrifying some. It wasn't long before she reached the island and rushed for the first weapon she could see, a pair of gauntlets that she slid on immediately before looking for any signs of T'val.

Breaking onto land, Sorrento immediately dragged Ariel up and out of the water, spinning around to survey the water. There were still some tributes left in it and Sorrento grimaced. "I hope this works." He muttered to himself before clapping his hands once. It wasn't a loud sound but it was easily manipulable as Sorrento slowly bounced the sound back and forth slowly increasing its power and range until the waters were frothing with how much the sound was disturbing it. In a few minutes it would become hard to swim to shore with how much the water was throwing tributes around.

Sou pouted, but ultimately did what he was told and came closer. Up close the horse was large and a little imposing but his love of animals won over and he gently patted the horse's flank hoping that the animal wouldn't drop him. He wasn't really sure if Favonius would catch him if that happened. He was too preoccupied with wondering if it was really safe to ride such a large animal that he completely missed the horse's change as innocently clueless about the world and potential dangers as always

The first thing that Sorrento noticed when he finally opened his eyes after the blinding brightness was water. A whole stretch of water that reminded him of the days he would go out to sea and spend the day fishing. Beside him was a tribute that he had spoken to before and gave the tribute a warm smile. His eyes then scanned the ring, spotting Ariel and Star not too far from him. With his goal clear in mind, he crouched down into a traditional starter's dive, left foot forward as he readied himself to swim towards the island he could see that seemed to be their arena for the year.

She could feel the pressure roaring in her ears, heart beating quickly as the adrenaline rushed through her body. It was an exhilarating and familiar feeling and she almost missed the quick wave given to her. Her eyes darted towards the motion like a shark that had smelt blood but her high strung tension dropped slightly at the sight of T'val and she grinned in return giving her a wave as well. As the clock ticked down to her death, Narukami's hand finger spelled one last message for her mates before she closed her eyes and let her mind sharpen under the thrill of an incoming fight for her life

"Not while riding horses that's for sure." Sou agreed, glancing at the animals warily. "When the sun's high in the sky like now, there's a lot of people in the market so its hard for animals to get through. The small streets are too tight for three people, let alone a horse. Walking is usually better but roof walking also works. The people are used to knights and castle staff walking in the city so I think we're okay." He also didn't know how to ride a horse but assumed that was common knowledge already and didn't voice it. It was also a little obvious that his small stature couldn't mount a horse, let alone ride it without falling off.

Narukami was quiet during the trip, thumb gently running over the token that she had been given. It was a necklace, made of pure silver as her designer had claimed, with a matching charm of a Knight chess piece. It was kind of cute, distracting her from how much she viscerally hated the outfit she was given. The tight clothes felt more revealing than anything, encasing her body in a look that was made to show off exactly how odd it was. Sure, she looked more threatening with the muscles she liked to hide on full display but it only made her all the higher on other tributes' kill lists. Looping the necklace around her wrist and rubbing where the tracker had been injected into, Narukami glanced out at the elevator that would carry her towards her demise

Sorrento didn't have a plan. Well, he did and that was to keep Ariel safe but apart from that he was a loss for what to do. He did talk to a few other tributes and managed to convince a few to die on their own terms rather than on the capital's terms but what those people would do would be up to them. He could only hope that whatever happened it would be to their benefit.

As the interviews came to a close, Narukami let her shoulders sag energy slipping out of her all at once and it felt like she was unraveling at the seams, the sheer humiliation of passing out in public the only thing keeping her together. It was rare of her to drop like this but she figured it was warranted after such a fraught day. Tomorrow would be even more stressful, and Narukami didn't know what to feel for the last night she would be alive. While she wasn't the type to be pessimistic, she still liked to look at life in a realistic light and that realism of hers told her that it was most likely that she would die in the bloodbath tomorrow even with a partner. She was strong, yes, but from the interview today she could tell that the rest of the tributes had powers that they could use to their advantage that would override her physical prowess. Her weather control was rusty and unrefined at best and she evidently hadn't gotten any sponsors from her performance today. It would be difficult to survive with these conditions in place.

He nodded, lacing his fingers with Ariel. "As long as you want to." He agreed easily.
