Some people say that home is where the heart is. Lauriam didn't know if that was really true or not. After all, he didn't really have a heart. At least he didn't think he did. Preposterous, some might say. Because Lauriam was a kind young man, one who helped others readily and devoted his whole life to taking care of his sister. Because Lauriam could be seen, every morning at 7 on the dot with not a minute too early or a second too late, humming as he watered the plants displayed in his shop, each organism treated with care and love. Because everyone knew not to pick on Strelizia and if you do, you risk incurring the wrath of her overprotective brother as the scrawny boy would rip anyone who dared mess with his sister to shreds. Because Lauriam was a kind boy with a big heart. He would have to be, being the sole caretaker of a sickly girl two years his junior with no parents in sight. After all, their parents had abandoned them to live in the Capital. Everyone knew that it was the parents who didn't have a heart, not the perfect son that they had left behind. But Lauriam would still argue otherwise. The sins of the father were still the sins of the son.

To Lauriam, where home was is simple. Home is in a field of Bird of Paradise flowers, his sister standing amongst her namesake; laughing without a care in the world. Home was the smell of soil and earth, of cat fur as the twin stray cats that Strelizia had taken in began to shed. Again. Home was Strelizia. And Strelizia was home. It was that simple. But home was not were the heart was for Strelizia could not hold what did not exist. Given the chance, and he had been given them multiple times, he would have left her alone, wailing and crying in a dark alley just as their parents had done to him. Like father like son. For what reason did he stick by his sniveling and weak sister's side was a constant topic of thought for him. Perhaps it was because she had nothing in the world apart from him. Lauriam was the sole rock in her life, her protector. Or perhaps it was to satisfy his own twisted desire to be needed, to be wanted, to hold on to that right to still exist because what good is a child who couldn't do anything for anyone? But ultimately, the past is the past and Lauriam had risen above the hurdles life whacked him over the head with and he was now living comfortably, devoting most of his time now to teaching his sister less practical but still important lessons.

But even without a heart, Lauriam was content with his lot in life. He was as kind as he was cruel, his duality keeping other kids from picking on his family. After all, the area that he had lived in for so long wasn't exactly the kindest nor the safest. At least the housing was cheap. Like each morning, Lauriam woke up at 6, crawling out of bed with the rising of the sun. With half lidded eyes, he gently watered the plants living on his window sill, changing into more suitable attire for the day as he made sure that each plant got their needed moisture. After shaking his sister awake (who wouldn't be up for another hour but at this point it was just as much of a habit as it was tradition), Lauriam would heat up yesterday's leftovers before heading out to his shop at 7 sharp, humming as he began to water each plant with meticulous care. Greetings were given and received, shop keepers and shoppers alike giving their morning wishes to the familiar boy with dyed hair. The only difference today was the presence of the "Closed" sign, even as the flowers perked up after their morning watering. With a satisfied nod, Lauriam ducked back into the house, and knocked on Strelizia's door again. "'Litzie, no more '5 more minutes' we'll be late!" He called, plating up the earlier made breakfast. There was a muffled groan from the room before Strelizia finally stumbled out, hair mussed and eyes bleary.

"Laur, where?" She mumbled, nearly tripping over her feet as Luriam handed off her food.

Ruffling her hair, Lauriam led her sister to one of the chairs in the room, sitting her down as he began to run his fingers through her hair. "Reaping, remember? Its a Quarter Quell so we'll have to be careful. I don't know what the theme is this year." Pulling his sister's hair into low hanging pigtails, tying them off with Bird of Paradise stems that he plucked from the nearby plant. Strelizia hummed busy stuffing her cheeks with porridge. It was kind of adorable. With a smile, Lauriam ruffled his sisters hair, ignoring her sounds of complaint as he picked out the nicest clothes that she had to wear to the reaping.

Name: Lauriam Ponderosa
Character's appearance (use an image if desired): (x)
Age: 15
Gender: Male
Status: Alive
Power: Graceful Delilah
In the most simplistic of terms, Lauriam has the power of Anthokinesis, or Floral Manipulation. His greatest strength is the mastery over flower petals and using said petals to help preform tasks or create replicas of objects. Replicated objects are still, in the end, flower petals so objects such as grenades will not actually work but for smaller scale things such as decorations, keys, clothing etc will still work as intended. Lauriam can harden and soften petals as needed, but this level of mastery is not passed onto other parts of a flower. Palynokinesis is another strength of his, although he can only spread pollen around a 5 foot radius and can't change the intrinsic properties of the pollen by very much. He can control every part of a flower, but to what degree. Well, it will depend on how much he practices with it wouldn't it
Was your character picked or volunteered: Picked
What did your character do for a living before the Hunger Games: Local Flowershop Owner, Homeschooling his younger sister

Mistkit, Mistpaw, Mistfur

Username: Tsukoyomi | Age: 19 Moons | Gender: Tom (FtM)
Rank: Medicine Cat | Sexuality: Grey-Biromantic

Personality: If there was one word to describe Mistfur at a glance, it would be "Quiet". He comes and goes as he pleases, silent as mist with ever watchful eyes. Without him speaking up, many forget that he even exists. This is not to say he is cold. He simply cares and loves too much for his heart to hold. He holds what others think of him in high regard always striving to do and be the best he can. He usually does things without being asked, anticipating ahead what needs to be done and completing as best as he can. Sometimes what he does isn't quite what the asker had in mind but its the thought that counts.... right?

Backstory: There has always been some stigma surrounding Mistkit. Born as the only surviving kit out of a litter, Mistkit was always a bit of a bad omen. Child of Vixenheart, Mistkit was always somewhat of an outsider with no known father or any siblings. Never as active as the other kits yet not quite well behaved as the others, Mistkit was always the one adults kept an eye on in case he ever acted up. While nothing ever happened, this early scrutiny pushed Mistpaw to study as a medicine cat hoping to heal the hurt he caused. He's however quite green as his mentor unexpectedly passed away before his training was complete. While it has been a few moons since his tenure as medicine cat, he still struggles with living up to his own expectations.

Other: While most of the clan sees Mistpaw as female, he is working towards building up enough courage to tell others his gender

Vixenkit, Vixenpaw, Vixenheart

Username: Tsukoyomi | Age: 31 Moons | Gender: She-Cat
Rank: Fighter | Sexuality: Pansexual

Appearance: She is a sleek black she-cat with alluring seafoam eyes that seem to draw you in, eyes that she passed onto Mistpaw. Her fur is always well groomed and is slightly plump owing to her lazy nature.

Personality: At first glance, Vixenheart is a kind cat who acts buddy buddy with any cat she finds, helping them out in any way she can. But peel back one layer and it becomes obvious that she is simply toying with her latest doll, making them dance to her own tune. While not particularly strong or adept in fighting, Vixenheart is true to her name and uses her still alluring looks and velvety voice to entangle her latest plaything in a web of lies. She likes to play the part of the demure maiden but is very lively and loud when the chance presents itself, her voice usually the loudest sound amongst the rebels. She naturally takes care of whoever she can but will throw cats away as easily as she takes them in.

Backstory:
Show hidden content
Vixenheart had always lived a life a misfortune. Her childhood was robbed of her when her mother refused to give her the proper care she needed, her first lesson being that no one would help her. She would have to do things herself if she wanted anything. Her mentor was wholly unsuited to a vivacious she-cat who only wished to have fun, stubborn in her convictions to enjoy every moment of her life as if it was her last. She was loosing hope until she meet Crowflight who shared her ideals of doing whatever they had at their disposal to get what they wanted. But misfortune would continue to follow her even after finding someone she considered a friend as not a few moons after a careless fling with a kittypet whose name she didn't even bother learning, she became pregnant but only gave birth to one live kit, the other three either already dead from the moment they were birthed or died shortly after. Seeing that her remaining kit was already weak and at deaths door, Vixenheart chose to abandon the child and instead devoted her off time as a Queen to help set up situations that would be favorable to Crowflight. When the tom was exiled, it wasn't even a choice for Vixenheart. She simply left alongside him, putting her trust in the one cat who hadn't betrayed it yet.
Other: Indifferent about Mistfur

Stonepaw, Stonepelt
Username: Tsukoyomi | Age: 24 Moons | Gender: Tom | Rank: Warrior | Sexuality: Asexual, Biromantic

Appearance:
Stonepelt is a large and burly cat easily towering over most of his clanmates. His cream and beige coat makes it easy for him to hide in the undergrowth and sharp blue eyes rarely miss anything that cross his sight. As a ragdoll, he has a firm and muscular build with a medium coat that more often than not is knotted up. Stonepelt walks with a slight limp on his hind legs and his tail is slightly crooked but other than that, there seems to be no visible defects on him.

Personality:
While the largest and most physically imposing of Burrclan's warriors, Stonepelt is quite gentle and taciturn. He prefers to let his actions speak louder than his words and rarely speaks at all. If he does, it's quiet and usually only one or two words. Despite being somewhat hard to approach, he is one of, if not the most loyal cats to Burrclan. He is as reliable and steady as his name suggests and vary rarely goes against his strict moral code. His core philosophy is that the world is cruel enough, there's no reason for him to add to that cruelness. This leads to him often making sure that he's not in anyone's way always making sure that he isn't bothering anyone. He also seems to have a bit of a soft spot for kits and queens, if his insistence to change the queens bedding frequently and check for ticks himself is anything to go off on. Or perhaps he just isn't used to being a warrior just yet.

Backstory: TW: death, car accidents
Stonepelt was not always a clan cat. He was once a rouge by the name of Aeleus who lived by himself and a young kit by the name of Ienzo. While Aeleus had a reputation of helping out whoever he could, taking in strays into his den and providing shelter for those who needed it for the night, Ienzo has always been his priority. They were quite close in age, only a few moons apart, but Ienzo was much frailer than the stalwart Aeleus. Much of their time together was the larger cat protecting the smaller, fending off other rogues and stealing food. They kept to themselves but no matter how much food Aeleus brought Ienzo, the small kit never seemed to get any better. Deciding that the city was much to dangerous for two malnourished cats, Aeleus decided to take his chances in the forest. Holding Ienzo by the scruff of the kit's neck and a vague destination in mind, he began to walk. The city was big, however, and by the time Aeleus reached the road separating the city from the forest, he was exhausted and had moved Ienzo onto his back. Not having been aware, Aeleus missed the monster that was barreling towards them, jolted out of his exhausted stupor when his scruff was forcibly yanked away from the incoming danger. With only a nick against his hind paw and tail, Aeleus was mostly safe but in the ensuing incident, Ienzo had been thrown off his back and lay unmoving on the black road. Already understanding what had transpired, Aeleus silently moved Ienzo's still warm body off the road and towards the forest. With the help of the cat who had pulled him out of the way and saved his life, Aeleus dug out a grave for Ienzo. Later he would learn that the cat who saved him was none other than Emberstar. Feeling indebted to the leader and having no where else to go, he joined Burrclan and took up the name of Stonepaw and was apprenticed under the leader. He was pleasantly surprised to find that one of the cats he had aided before was also a part of the clan and took a liking to Russetfoot's kits. Thus, it came as a shock and almost more of a betrayal when Foxflame decided to leave with Crowflight, saddened by someone who he saw as a younger brother leave. Though on some level, he has accepted the other's choice and would never wish harm upon him, Stonepelt is still pained by this fact. The negative emotions only grew and festered more in his heart after electing to stay behind on a patrol, only to receive news that his mentor had been murdered. He was assessed and given his warrior name shortly after Emberstar's death though he doesn't see himself as being worthy of being a warrior.

Other: On some level he does blame himself for Emberstar's death

Rolling into the elevator, Alaparos was about to hit the 7th floor button before a young boy barreled in with a frightened Nygah! barely avoiding getting squished by the closing elevator doors. "f-fourth floor if ya be so kind." The boy gasped out, chest heaving as his half zipped up bag dangled over one shoulder. Between the strands of hair, Alaparos could make out mismatched eyes and politely looked away, pressing the button for the fourth and seventh floor as the elevator lurched into motion.

"Some water?" Alaparos offered, holding out a water bottle from his wheelchair to the young boy. He refused, straw hair shaking furiously enough for him to be slightly worried. But a amused smile crossed over Alaparos' face anyways as he put the water back. The rest of the ride was spent in silence as the two men kept to themselves, only a hasty goodbye said between them when the elevator reached the fourth floor. By the time he reached his destination, Alaparos was still wide awake. It was unfortunately the nature of underworld creatures such as himself to be used to the endless nights, riding with this masters under the cloak of darkness. For him, darkness was daylight and daytime was night. Or maybe not, daylight was rare in the Underworld after all and the only times that happened it meant that Athena (and how he hated that name, millennia later still evoking the same ugly roll of acrid emotions) had broken through. So perhaps it would just be better to say that he was accustomed to the gloomy realms he called home. Rolling down the hallways, arms burning with exertion of having to push himself everywhere, Alaparos locked the door behind him letting out a sigh of relief.

With prying eyes out of the way, he cautiously stood up from his wheelchair, hissing at the pain from underused legs, letting himself fall forward with a muted thump. It was almost like molting, clothes and humanoid features cracking away as Alaparos wriggled out of the stifling confines of his human appearance as he settled into his more preferred form. What could only be described as a content trill bounced across the room as Alaparos finally stretched his whole body out working out the kinks and aches in them. Carefully folding up his wheelchair and setting it aside, Alaparos curled up in a makeshift nest that he had constructed for himself, pleased to just be in his most comfortable form for now.

"Ah, geez that's a pain." She complained, dancing out of the way of a wandering child. Eying the gap warily, Narukami took a running start as she thanked her past self for joining her schools track and field club. If she ignored the presence of infants, it was almost like being at a track meet again, feet pounding against the grass. The barrier was almost like a hurdle if she thought about it which made her grimace. Hurdles were her weakness in track but hey, she rather have scraped knees rather than whatever those babies would do to her. But these shoes were awful for running, much less vaulting, and Narukami could sense that as soon as she pushed off, feet slipping slightly as she vaulted over the barricade, back foot catching over the top of the construct. With a yelp, she sprawled over the ground, unharmed saved for her bruised ego.

Having dozed off, Alaparos slowly roused himself and cracked his eyes open. Night was coming and he disliked being too cold. Ironic, living hundreds of years within the underworld but having thick animal hide instead of dry human skin. Blinking the sleep out of his eyes, Alaparos began to wheel himself back to the dorms. It was always a pain to keep up his human like appearance, even more so when he needs to travel. Walking hurt, pushing himself hurt, being human again hurt. At least when he was alone in his room, he could slip back into his normal form. Human world rules were weird. Pushing himself down the trails, Alaparos hummed under his breath before it caught in his throat seeing a small hooded figure along the road. It was a bit embarrassing to have others hear folk songs from days long gone.

Caught up in his practice, Mika almost didn't notice the other inhabitants of the training area leave one by one until he was one of the last ones left. Quickly packing up his things, Mika hurried back to the dorms. He hated standing out way too much, tugging his hair over his eyes as his footsteps echoed around the hallways.

Abandoning stealth, Narukami began to run crashing through the forest to make it back to camp. Only to see, well there were children. Everywhere. She could feel her stomach roll at the sight. See, Narukami hated kids. They were weird and slobbered everywhere, demanding attention that she couldn't ever give to them. She already had her hands full taking care of her mates. "T'val! Are you okay?" She called out, keeping a wary eyes on the infants crawling everywhere. She really didn't want to punch a kind in the face, no matter how much she hatted them. What where they even doing in the arena in the first place? And so many of them too. Some trash parent was apparently so irresponsible that they left their kids alone in a death game.

Crouching in the undergrowth, Narukami held her breath as a lone rabbit nibbled on the grass before her. The grounds were fairly quiet, devoid of unnatural noise as Narukami stalked forward doing her best to keep quiet. But no matter how quiet she tried to be, the rabbit still caught her scent, nose twitching before the animal began to bound away. Quick as a flash, Narukami leapt out of the bushes, gloved hand yanking the rabbit by its ears, nearly loosing her grip before she wrapped her other hand around the animals neck and snapped it swiftly. Letting her body thud against the ground, she clambered to his feet feeling a wave of guilt as she held the dead rabbit up by the ears. She really didn't like how much killing she was doing, hands that were usually slathered in lotion and skin care products now dripping with blood. It almost made her shudder, the spots of rabbit blood dribbling down the carcass suddenly seeming more revolting that it was a few minutes ago. Shoving the prey into the bag, Narukami shook her head clear of such thoughts, instead focusing on returning to camp figuring that the rabbit would be enough for both her and T'val for the day. As she crawled through the forest, Narukami could sometimes hear babling and wailing though they were faint enough for her to ignore for the time being. But as she came closer to the camp, it felt like these sounds were becoming louder.

Sorrento was visibly tense for a moment before his shoulders dropped and he leaned into the hug, letting out a shuddering sigh. "I know..." He agreed, helplessness gnawing at his stomach. He hated the feeling, the knowledge that there wasn't much for him to do but be there for Ariel. But all he could do for now is calm himself down, approaching the situation with a level head.

He wouldn't budge for a moment, holding Ariel close before he finally let Faith take care of her, an understanding going through him that he really wasn't in the best mindset to do anything. Letting Star help him sit down, he took in a shuddering breath. "I-" A moment of hesitation. Clenching his jaw, he swallowed and tried again. "I was sitting up on the tree roots." He explained, slowly recounting what had happened, though it was interspersed with silence and worry. But eventually he simply helpless shrugged once he finished recounting the events.

"I-i don't know." He replied, voice edging on hysterics as he held Ariel close as if she would disappear from the world the moment he let go. "There was a child and-and acid got on her arm but its healed now I don't know how that happened, and now she's saying something about not wanting to lose Echo and I don't know what to do." It was clear that he was just rambling at this point, the suddenness of the whole incident and Ariel's sudden breakdown tearing down the metaphorical walls Sorrento had put up to distance himself from the group.

The gardens were as beautiful as always. Wheeling himself across the smooth roads, Alaparos pushed himself into a smallish corner, parking himself beside a bench. Of course, given his stature he was quite visible even among the dense foliage but Alaparos still could lead back against his wheelchair and admire the scenery around him. It was much different to the Underworld, where the few spots of greenery were out to kill you. While Luco's plants usually were docile and helped the healer in his task of restoring Spectres back to life, Hyde's brand of soul plants and mushrooms had a penchant for latching onto unsuspecting wanderers and decomposing their bodies on the spot. It really was nice to just sit down and let the peace seep into his weary bones, callused hands smoothing out the weighted blanket that was draped over his lap. It was unfortunate that he was bound to his more humanoid form but the other Spectres and Lord Hades himself had insisted that he take a vacation up in the overworld. Something about him growing gray hairs after teaching the young tykes and learning to let the birds fly out of the nest (he couldn't do that if a trainee would dunk their head into the River Lethe for a dare the moment he turned his back, Syphid). A butterfly dropping onto the back of his hand jarred him from his thoughts and he smiled, letting the insect rest for a moment before shooing it away. He wasn't here to worry, he was here to relax.

No matter how many times he practiced, Mika still couldn't get the steps right. Letting out a frustrated nygah, he slumped down on a nearby bench, wiping the sweat off his brow. It was just as he thought, without Shu around he was just a dumb doll. He had heard that Shu had traveled to this resort a few days ago but when he himself had gone to drag his teacher back to work, he couldn't find hide nor hair of the eccentric man who Mika would follow to the ends of the earth. It was frustrating to say the least but at least the resort had a sporting area for the hetrochromic boy to keep in shape, spending most of his time practicing. He would have to be in tip top shape after all. Shu would never accept anything less than perfect.

Sorrento couldn't make heads or tails of what Ariel was saying but could at least register that she was frightened beyond what his words could reach. It was much too dangerous to be standing out in the open so with a grunt, he scooped Ariel up in his arms and nearly tripped over his own feet carrying her back into their safe hide out.

This is going to be the death of us?

Name: Kagehira Mika

Age: 17-18

Gender: Male

Universe: Ensemble Stars

Canon?: Yes

Appearance: Mika is a young man with a skinny build. He has mid-length tousled black hair which appears dark green & sometimes even brown in some lighting. His eyes have heterochromia iridium; his right eye is a light golden color, while his left is aqua.

Personality: He is not good with controlling his emotions; most of the time they control him instead. He describes himself as not being able to accomplish anything and that he is only a ‘doll’ used to obey orders, however, it has shown that he is able to complete many things on his own without the guidance of any others. He is also an extremely hard worker, and often finds it hard to take breaks. He even goes as far as working on his own birthday to get money for his unit, which is in a bad financial crisis. He shows signs of fatigue and has even fainted from the poor condition his body is in. He shows extreme amounts of loyalty to his friends and will do almost anything for those he cares about. When he loves something he never lets it go and never takes back his word. While he may be bad with expressing emotion, his true intentions always get out sooner or later whether it’s on accident or on purpose.

Backstory (optional): He was abandoned by his birth parents and thus lived in an orphanage in his hometown. Because of this, and also fearing it was because of his heterochromia, he is afraid of abandonment in other aspects of his life.

Friendships (optional): Itsuki Shu, Narukami Arashi

Power(s): Knows how to sew and can create outfits from scratch, Dulled sense of pain, Perfected the art of Puppy Dog Eyes TM

Password: London Fog

Anything else?: He baby

This is going to be the death of us?

Name: Ophiotaurus Alaparos

Age: Physically 25, Well over 200 years old

Gender: Male

Universe: OC, Saint Seiya, Saint Seiya: The Lost Canvas

Canon?: Nope

Appearance: Humanoid|True Form
Alaparos is a large heavy set man with a sturdy build. He has dark olive skin with smatterings of freckles as well as dark blond hair that reaches around mid back that is often tied up in a half pony tail framed around sea blue eyes. He occasionally wears makeup but keeps it light, limiting it to eyeliner and lipgloss. Both his ears are pierced and he has a septum CBR piercing, a plain leaf tatoo crawling up the left side of his neck. In his humanoid form, he is bound to a wheelchair and though he is capable of walking it is quite painful and he prefers to use mobility aids to travel around incognito. Outside of his human adjacent appearance, Alaparos takes the form of a Ophiotaurus with a double set of horns sprouting from his temples and a long serpentine tail connecting to his equine front legs. He enjoys more feminine clothes and will often sport skirts in his humanoid form.

Personality: "Terrestrial Grieving Star, Ophiotaurus Alaparos of the Wyvern Division. I apologize for the pain I will have to put you through."
Alaparos is perhaps the nicest soul you could find lingering around the Underworld. He is a gentle where the others are cruel and empathetic where others couldn't give a damn. His role as a teacher to the apprentices is an apt position as he has a natural aptitude for child care. Alaparos is a gentle giant who would do anything to for his new family, standing on the front lines not to fight but to protect the home he has made amongst the cruelty and sadism of death. He is cheerful character bright against the drab scenery of the Underworld, always willing to help out. He is the heart of any group he finds himself in, encouraging others and generally making the mood as cheerful and upbeat as it can be. He is very protective of creatures that are smaller than him which isn't a very high bar to set as he is easily taller than most. But sometimes he forgets that he's pretty big so he ends up bowling others over a lot. Do not be fooled, however, as he has his own brand of cruelty hidden under layers of kindness, cultivated over a lifetime of being used and lied too.

Backstory (optional): Growing up as a child soldier, Alaparos fought for an organization that he thought would help save the world, throwing himself into skirmishes after skirmishes all in the name of the Sactuary, for Athena. If you asked him, he would say that the only good thing that came out of his time as a Saint was his spouse who he married for tax reasons but learned to love when they adopted a son together. But when he realized that the goddess that he served really didn't care about him or his family, only having her own interests in mind under the guise of protecting humanity, he attempted to leave the organization only to be branded a traitor and was murdered trying to protect his family. Stuck in the underworld, the Ophiotaurus Surplice offered Alaparos a deal. Bind himself with the surplice and get a second chance to right his wrongs or spend the rest of entirety frozen within the Underworld without a chance of resurrection or reincarnation. Free the monster living within him or play human. The choice was easy and Alaparos was gifted with a new form that felt like coming home.

Friendships (optional): A better question is who he isn't friends with

Power(s): He has enhanced senses in his true form, capable of traveling much further and faster than the normal person. His Cosmo gives him enhanced strength and as a Spectre his primary magic is Titan while his secondary is Dryad and his tertiary is Cthonic. With Opiotarus, he is capable of seeing into the future but only when he's gravely injured.

Password: London Fog

Anything else?: Primary Titan magic boils down to spells that increase strength, the lower the health the higher the damage. Secondary Dryad gives him a connection the the earth and an affinity for trees, Tertiary Cthonic allows him to see and commune with the dead but because it is tertiary it is very weak.
He is bound to his surplice. Take it away and he dies for realsies

Sorrento's head was spinning with how much was going through his brain but one specific word that Ariel said he latched onto. "Lose her? W-why would you lose her?" He sputtered, Ariel's own panic rubbing off on him. Gently holding the healing arm, Sorrento could only look on in bewilderment as he watched the wound heal up. He was so confused at this whole situation but he could at least recognize that this wasn't an ideal place to be caught unawares and hastily scanned the area around them, too fraught to use his echolocation, eyes straining as he hoped to catch sight of whoever had sent an exploding baby of all things at them

"I don't mind you coming along, it will be fun to learn together." She assured, though she did empty out the bag of cloth to take along with her. "But if that's what you feel like is better, I won't stop you."

Flinching from the explosion, Sorrento immediately drew Ariel close, frantically checking over her. "Are you okay?! Ariel please, I can't help you if you don't tell me what's wrong." He said desperately, trying to figure out why she was curled up and crying. It sort of frightened him, seeing his normally strong and capable wife so shaken up.
