Sofia cheered at both the soaked trainers and the fainted starly. "That was great!" She laughed, before running into the wild grass herself. "Let's see what else we can find!" Startled by her charge, a pidgey flew out of the grass. Sofia grinned. "Okay Keith! This is our first battle!" She yelled. Keith hopped forward with determination.
"Okay let's see what you can do," Sofia pulled out her pokedex. The pokedex registered the wild pidgey, level 4, and then displayed Keith's available moves. "Oh great, only tackle." Sofia sighed. "Keith, use tackle!" She cried, pointing at the pidgey. Keith yipped and charged, successfully tackling the pidgey, its health bar going down into the yellow. "Good job Keith!" Sofia smiled, digging through her bag to find a pokeball. She held up a normal pokeball. "Let's do this!" She cried, throwing the pokeball at the hurt pidgey. She held her breath as the pokeball shook once, twice and then a third time, coming to a stop with a click! Her pokedex lit up, showing Keith's exp bar going up a third, and then displaying pidgey's full information. "Sweet! I'll name you Pidge." Sofia said, picking up the pokeball. "Welcome to the team, Pidge!"

((keeping a voltron theme with names for now LMAO let's see how long it can go))

"Pleasure to meet you!" Sofia grinned and picked Keith off the ground. "I'm Sofia and this is Keith!" She introduced, holding the shinx loosely in her arms. "I'm going to be the champion!" She proclaimed. She turned to Sorrel, her eyes gleaming. "Don't be so shy Mr. Sorrel! What's your partner's name?"

Sofia sighed as entered Sandgem town. Stupid brother making me miss the meeting with Professor Rowan completely, she thought in annoyance. Although she understood her brother's reluctance to let her go, she was still upset he ended up making her late to the most important meeting in her life.

Upon arriving at the lab, she found a small package bearing her name by the door. It contained a simple pokeball and a blue-gray pokedex. A note attached read: To Sofia, this is your new partner and pokedex. I wish you good luck on your journey! - Professor Rowan. Sofia held the pokeball in her hand in wonder, all her annoyance melting away at the sight of the beginning of her dream. Time to meet my new partner! she thought with excitement. She threw the ball in the air, and with a zap of red light, a shinx landed neatly in front of her. Surprised, she blurted out "was this done on purpose???" staring at the electric type with the same eyes as her own. "Well nevermind that, I guess I should name you," she crouched in front of the pokemon, "how's keith sound?" She smiled. The shinx shinxed in agreement. "Alright Keith, let's go to Jubilife city!" Sofia cheered, "It's time for me to become the champion!"

Sofia and her partner left Sandgem after a stop to the pokemart to buy a few potions and pokeballs with the money her brother had gifted her. Upon entering Route 202 she was immediately greeted with two fellow trainers, a boy and a girl, both with intense expressions. Sofia blinked, and without thinking called out "Hey! Are you going to Jubilife?"

Appearance:
Sofia is around 5'3'' and appears fairly athletic. She has tan skin and black hair, although it can appear to be brown in the light. Her hair is usually tied up sailor moon style, but on occasion either down or in a simple ponytail. Her bangs are long and in three sections. Her eyes are a bright unnatural yellow, giving her an eerie appearance.
Sofia considers herself to be fashionable, dressing in the latest styles and often overdressing for the occasion. Her normal outfit consists of a matching jacket and dress with a simple shoulder bag. Depending on the weather, Sofia will dress in either more loose or more covering clothing.

Personality:
Sofia is a seemingly calm and elegant individual due to her style and appearance. Often times her first impression is one of a nice yet reserved girl. In reality, Sofia is overly curious and blunt, often times asking questions and commenting without caring or reading the atmosphere. Despite this flaw, Sofia cares for her friends, and will try to tone down her behavior in order to not upset them.
Sofia is also prideful and ambitious, wanting to be a powerful trainer. She can seem arrogant at times, but mostly she is just seeking to fulfill her goals.
