Lifei sneezed, causing snow to fall faster and harder, creating a winter wonderland in the lab. She giggles, before scooping up the snow to form snow dragons. “That one is you” She points to one particular dragon balancing candles on her head.” She waves her paws, and ice forms at her command, an ice sculpture of the two of them messing about in the lab forming, Lifei herself making sure she captured each detail of glee and happiness on their faces as the lab— I mean the beakers exploded. She then throws a snowball at Estelle, which narrowly misses her. “Snowball fight?” She suggests, four more snowballs already at hand

She heard the soft pitted patter of running feet before she saw them. A young girl— if she remembered correctly, Hana, was running directly into the forest. She immediately stands up, pocketing her carving knife and the rest of her items, and picking up her spear to chase after the girl. Hana was known in the village for her kind, and extremely curious, foraging nature. But the forest was not exactly ‘defined territory’ It belonged to neither fae nor human, but served as a kind of border. “Hana! Where are you going, alone? It’s dangerous, you should be going with someone else, some company” Now normally, Ping would have left the situation be, but she wasn’t one to let a child’s life be in danger.

Ping was uninterested in the fairies, unlike most people. Her metal tipped spear sat in front of her, as nimble fingers skimmed over a block of wood, her metal carving knife moving fast as wood shavings flew about the place. Intricate patterns began forming at the hands of the craftswoman, and soon there was a striking replica of said metal spear. She stares at it thoughtfully, before carving her signature onto it, a swirly Chinese character that read “mountain” The rickety wooden stool she perched on wobbled, causing Ping to frown, putting the chair aside to sit on the soft grassy field dotted with little specks of white with tinier specks of yellow— a daisy field. She gathers the fallen flowers, her slender, long fingers nimbly crafting a flower crown, before taking a piece of metal and some string, strengthening the flower chain to form an accessory of sorts, a tiara, if you would. She puts her tools down, and stares at the open field, thinking. She supposed she did care about the fairies, but not in the “I want to find them” but instead the “I would like to know more about you” kind.

Aether smiles, features relaxing. “You’re tense. Worried, preoccupied, there’s a lot on your mind. Try and relax- hey, do you want me to braid your fur for you? My mother used to help me braid my ‘hair’, telling me it was my “tomorrow braid” That way I could feel at peace, but ready to tackle the situations and problems I suffered from the minute I got enough rest, and unbraided my hair.” Aether suggests, sensing her friends’ spiralling emotions.

Lifei is a little dazed, but above all, amazed. “That’s so cool! We should do it again…or not.” Lifei practically squeals, ignoring the fact that the two nearly destroyed the lab. Small ice sculptures form, manipulated by Lifei as she makes them sweep up the glass, before disposing of it it in the proper bin. She takes out a small journal, blackened at the edges and falling apart, writing something down in minuscule handwriting. The journal was filled with crazed scrawls, both neat and messy, some beyond the point of legibility. There were a few strange symbols, but the whole effect gave off a deranged-serial-killer vibe to someone who didn’t share her burning passion for science. She reached into one of her reversible scales, bringing out a cloudy sample in a test tube. “This is arsenic. I found a small pool of it while on my travels. With all these in the lab, I’m sure we can do something with it— Oooh wait is that liquid nitrogen? Cool!” She rattles off, once again holding the test tube in one hand while pointing at said liquid nitrogen sitting oh so innocently on the table, waiting to be used. Whoever left the science lab open for Lifei and Estelle most likely didn’t know what they were doing. Surely the lab would end in shambles. “Or we could use our powers, what do you think? Mine are ice and lightning, surely we can have some fun with this!”

“Yeah well, that’s going to change now that we’re here. That could be arsenic, or it could be something boring, like sodium. Pfleh.” Lifei ends with a disgusted, garbled noise. “I’d much prefer it was the first.” Lifei chews a bit of pastry thoughtfully, pointing with a claw to the clear solution with the bright red “WARNING, FLAMMABLE” sticker. “How do you think one would know the boiling point of ethanol if they didn’t try setting it alight themselves? Same goes with all other items. If they can do it I’m sure we can too— Hey do you wanna put ethanol on the Bunsen burner?” She then points to the said object nearby, somehow having a lighter already in her claws, ready to set the lab, I mean the Bunsen burner on fire. Dangerously close to the Bunsen burner were four things that probably shouldn’t be there— ethanol, ammonium nitrate, another lighter, and a empty glass beaker. Should the two attempt direct heating, the school would surely end in rubble.

Lifei laughs, her tail swishing as she enters and exits the breakfast cave, grabbing some food for them to eat on the go. “Come on then, let’s go to the lab. We can just eat on the way or in the lab itself” Her pink and purple scales shivered with excitement, and the gold trimming highlighted the lightning rippling and arching , dancing across her back, along with a soft layer of frost as she charged into the lab.

Lifei gets up, uncurls herself and pads after Estelle. “I can hear our geography teacher screaming from over here. Seems like the next person to say that word is going to face his full wrath. We should be eating breakfast, and then hopefully we get some study time. I wanna try something new— it might blow up the school but it’ll be worth it” she answers.

Under shimmering castles, spiralling, complicated structures lies two clans, two mafias, if you will. Perfect blue skies are not as they appear, polluted by humans, who occupy one half of Iridantia, the Earth they share. Non-humans occupy the other half, known as the Saakri-Lumens by the humans. The world is shattering, there can only be space for one. But who will it be? The humans have advanced destructive technology, but have polluted the earth, removing most greenery from their part of the world. They are also excellent warriors in battle, with a fury unlike any other. Meanwhile, the Sakai-Lumens have superpowers, and their intelligence is superior to that of humans. For years the Saakri-Lumens have banned contact with humans, claiming that they are a “violent, destructive race” and that they do not deserve the land they tread on. Rumours have it, that the humans forced the Saakri-Lumens into half the world, with violence and rage, when once both parties lived in harmony. The humans speak of it differently, claiming that the Saakri-Lumens are evil, and manipulative creatures. But who is right, and who is wrong? Is there really a ‘good” side on Iridantia? Is anything what they really seem?

Specialty (i.e. a fairy who can talk to animals or a human who is excellent with their hands) - a master craftswoman. Her specialty lies in crafting basic metal weapons, and she’s decent with a bow and arrow, and a spear.
Personality - Reserved, quiet and mostly an observer, she stands on the sidelines to watch as squabbles unfold. Her curiosity is limited to silent observation, but she will speak her mind if she feels like it. She prefers to work on crafting little things for the younger ones to play with, out of wood. if you’re a child, and have gathered the courage to talk to her, she appears friendly, even without smiling. Be prepared for small tokens like a wooden carving, a leaf bracelet or some shiny trinket she’s found. She spends her days idly crafting items, or playing with kids, all the while constantly taking in information about everyone and everything around her. She may be good with certain weapons, but if there’s one thing she hates, it’s fighting. Try as you might to engage her in a fight, practice or not, and you’ll most likely end up feeling pissed off at her.
