The low clopping of hooves rung out across the barren wasteland, accompanied by the howling winds. The plateau crossing was famous for its windy temperament, having been leveled by sloughing waves and raging beasts. The screech of nature drew the nightmares to this area, the cacophony a melodious lull to those who no one would dare fight against. Rikka liked to walk around the particular area, pulling unfortunate travelers out of the jaws of death before running for it. The plateau was a second home at this place, navigation easily done even when chocolate eyes closed to rest and protect against the whipping winds. Gloved hands gripped the escaping beanie, keeping it firmly atop a head of brown curled hair. Parts of Rikka's cheeks stung as hair lashed against tanned skin, the tight clothing chosen specifically to reduce the amount of sound that would be produced doing precious little to shield Rikka from the cold. Beyond the windy plains lay a settlement, humans settling down in broken houses shielded by the screaming air and rubble. Rikka would often drop off the wanderers who had strayed too far there, a place to rest before continuing on their journey.

A shrill screech blended in with the background music, commonplace as the withered ground Rikka stood on. With a sigh, Rikka smiled apologetically at Calliope before sliding onto the goat's back. It was an old routine by now, one both had perfected ever since the end of the world and had to re-perfect once they were left alone. The drumming of Calliope's hooves against the hardened earth was a grounding melody that had Rikka preparing for an encounter. Granted, a metal fan and a whip wasn't very much to defend anyone with but Rikka had learned. It wasn't hard when you're very existence hinged on the mastery of such tools. In the distance, Rikka could see the combatant. Two survivors scuffling over supplies would be the logical jumping point and that theory was proven true as a scattered bag of medicine was strewn to the side. Ugh these were the ones that Rikka hated the most since it meant having to actually straighten stuff out instead of hitting something. With a sigh, a black whip crudely stitched together with different leather pieces and held together by duct tape and a prayer slithered through the air to yank one of the survivors backwards. It was with a swift strike and a swirl of fabric that Rikka dismounted, metal fan quickly incapacitating both survivors. Using spare rope to secure the two rescues, Rikka gathered up the contested supplies and loaded them onto Calliope's back. The first time they had done this, Calliope had given Rikka such a dirty look that could only be appeased with a chunk of cheese which was such a pain to procure.

Hefting the lighter survivor, a child no older than 12, Rikka let Calliope carry the other combatant as the two began to move towards the settlement. The pair would then split the supplies between all of them and separating them on opposite ends of the ruined city. For all of the legend and mystery surrounding Rikka, however, the young adult's only strength was speed. With a weak physical build, even catrying a child was enough to wind the fragile speedster. But seeing the rubble and now familiar broken buildings in the distance, Rikka let out a sigh. They would be relatively safe for now, granted that no survivors attack them.

Once upon a time, there was a prince. The prince lived happily with his brother and fiance, spending each day smiling and laughing and helping others. The prince's brother became the king and the prince was happy, traveling around the kingdom with his fiance and living the rest of his life in bliss, occasionally returning to the castle to spend time with his brother. The three would happily pass on, old age doing nothing to break them apart. But if I told you that story, you would only scoff. Fairy tales were rarely that happy all the way through.

So how about another story.

Once upon a time, the world ended. Gloomy, I know. But just because the world ended does not mean that humans cease to persevere. Indeed, the world had ended many times yet each time it did people would rise from the ashes and rebuild. Such was the cycle of life for in death there was life and in life there was death. So yes. The world had yet again ended. But instead of only one or two countries feeling the affects of such an end, all seven continents were torn asunder by the calamity. Many died and will continue to die but among those who survived there was a not so young human. No one quite knew when this oddity of nature would appear, only sweeping in during times of need and disappearing just a quickly. Those who were saved by this person would weave tales of a fearless someone who would run into death's open jaws and dart back out unscathed, those who had been thought lost cradled in deceptively thin arms. Others only scoffed and told of the times the stranger could only lie, bleeding out in the unforgiving wasteland for who would be foolish enough to accept help from those who would only turn their blade against the other. Still others would warn of the black devil that traveled with the mysterious stranger, to be wary of those which can not be explained. But regardless of rumor, it was undeniable that the mystery and suspense around such a fellow only increased, making the birth of a sort of urban myth. The Witch who Saves. He who Wanders the Roads. The Roserot Ghost. So many names but not one knew who exactly this person could be. They say that if you wish from the bottom of your heart for someone else to be saved, then the black ewe will appear before you, upon its back seated the mysterious stranger.

Ah but the moon is high in the sky and tomorrow is upon us. Here is where the story ends, an open epilogue to those who wish to find out who this savior could be. Rest child for tomorrow we set out.

A tiny sneeze fluttered through the desolate wasteland. Huddled into Calliope's fur, Rikka sniffed, one slim finger coming up to rub a button nose. The night wasn't even that cold, there wasn't any reason to be sneezing. Oh well, the ruins of what used to be Ceatharlach was just a stone throw away so finding some warmer clothes hopefully wouldn't be too hard. The pair were simply wandering with no destination in mind only with the single minded need to remain in the area. Perhaps it was the fact that there wasn't very many other survivors around and the area was free of those monsters that prowled the lands. But Rikka could make all the excuses in the world but the real reason would never be a mystery. There was still unfinished business in these parts and it would be unwise.

Binghe wasn't a exceptionally deep sleeper so the moment Tilly somehow wiggled through the only (and kind of broken) window, he was already up and running. Too bad grogginess was still a thing and he was caught easily.

Sulking as he downed the awful tonic, Binghe settled for simply observing the others fight first and took a seat on the floor. It would do him some good to see the others in action. He didn't really care about fighting, his mastery over his Tanji being quite low in his opinion. Tapping a random beat on the ground as he watched, the shadows humming along to the unheard song. Well it would be fun to see what he could do at this point though so he hummed out loud. The shadow cast by the pissed off woman wavered slightly before it swiftly wrapped around the woman's ankle. There wasn't much time for her to counter, Binghe's humming picking up the tempo as the shadows responded appropriately and swarmed the woman. The steady tapping of Ongreuktnm was soon the only sound the woman could hear, the sentient darkness engulfing her. It didn't hurt, just a comfortable blanket on pure shadows that cut off her senses. Annoying. But not particularly strong.

When Binghe is finally sent home, it is with a brewing mind and many questions that he brings with him. One of the final passages in the book he was given was weighing heavily on him, the words still imprinted in his mind as if he had the text in his hands before him.

“Run not from the darkness. Shield not your eyes from the light. For does the light not cast shadows? And without the dark, how can we know light? Both are one and the same, separate yet joined. Without one, the other can have no meaning. As they are but two phases of the same energy, know that in darkness, there is light. And in light, there is darkness."

What an odd thing to say, the balance of such things intertwined so closely yet so different from one another. The duality of life reflected in the simple philosophy of black and white. Right or wrong. Yes or no. What a curious little cage people put themselves in to satisfy such moral struggles. In the end the line between the two was indistinguishable from the blood people shed to trod on the right side of their reasoning. Perhaps he was the worst type of offender, one foot in each faction as he trod the lonely road fraught with liars and deceivers. That thought only made him laugh out loud, his soft chuckling ringing through the empty streets of the poorer side of town.

Mounting the steps up to his apartment, Binghe made sure to stop at his neighbor's place to drop off a pair of jade earrings that had been the beginning of this whole mess. If he had accidentally procured fake jade instead of real ones... well no one needed to know that did they? Waving off the Grandmother's hurried thanks and offers of returning the favor on day, Binghe returned to the dilapidated and honestly overpriced hovel that was his apartment complex. It wasn't anything grand or lifesaving, certainly not an abode expected of someone wielding a Tanji (if those things really were as special as Tilly said they were) but Binghe had other things to worry other than his housing situation. Turning in for the night, Binghe hoped that when he awoke the next day, every thing would simply return to normal. He'd had enough of supernatural happenings for an entire lifetime.

@Hagaru
Ooof yeah the sub-stats really do make or break a build unfortunately.

healers are temporary, Zhongli shield is eternal Yeah, all the characters I main/put on my abyss team are all inherently really tanky like Hu Tao, Kazuha, Zhongli etc. So Qiqi healing big numbers there really helps. Though I find that her heals are more situational compared to Diona and Bennett who are much easier to build in comparison to her.

I run a R3 fully upgraded Flute which gives me 510 Base Atk + 41.3% Atk. I personally wouldn't recommend it mostly since the passive does very little for her but because of the Atk main and substat it does its job of giving her bigger heals. From what I've seen from other people's builds tho Sacrificial Sword does seem to be the best 4* weapon for her though. I just don't have one (rip my Qingqiu) :p

@Hageru

you're too kind omg. If you're lacking ER then you can always stack ER on an off piece or trade an Atk sands for an ER sands. Honestly healing 7.5k per rotation on her skill is probably overkill so it wouldn't hurt to balance out your ER and Atk stat to a level where you're happy with.

I use her pretty frequently in Abyss actually. I have horrible dodging skills I play on mobile so I get hit a lot. Healers/sheilds are a must have for me so she's always on one of my Abyss team as the best healer I have. She's usually paired up with Chongyun for that good good Cryo Resonance

@Hagaru
I built her as a healer/sub dps and not as a cryo support which is a whole 'nother way of building her. I went for a Healer/DPS hybrid with a Gladiator/Maiden 2pc and a more or less DPS build. The only exception being a healing circlet and less of an emphasis on Crit/Crit Rate. With Shimenawa's Reminiscence out, you can totally swap Gladiator out for better Reminiscence pieces if thats an option for you or replace it with Brave Heart of Sojourner pieces.

If you want a look at my stats for her, its in the spoiler. Could be better but even with these stats she has amazing healing potential

Thanks for the crowning tips tho! I'll probably think it over again since my team is ever changing lol but Zhongli's sheild is probably going to get crowned just for convenience

Username: Tsukoyomi

Character Name: Rikka

Character Gender: Much too busy trying to survive to care

Character Age: 27

Personality: Rikka is a kind and seemingly innocent soul. Soft spoken and air headed, Rikka is often doing things that actively points towards danger instead of away from it. Rikka's a bit clumsy and very much someone who would spontaneously do bewildering actions at a drop of a hat. Rikka tends to falter under pressure, going mad and laughing to relive the tension while spouting nonsense. But there is also a slightly vain side to the seemingly angelic survivor, claiming that it doesn't matter what gender others see Rikka as. As long as everyone agrees that Rikka looks good, then that is all that matters. With such a personality, one has to wonder how Rikka even survived the whole end of the world fiasco.

Rikka's strength lies within the ability to make light of any situation, hardening a normally soft heart in order to get any job done for the sake of others. But when it comes to settling personal disputes.... well those are the ones Rikka usually leaves up to the arguing parties to deal with.

Appearance: Rikka is a person with clear, bright green eyes and a spirited expression. An easy going smile is always painted on, shining under lightly tanned skin. Due to an ever changing hair style, its hard to pin down what Rikka will look like on any given day but usually a mood can be inferred from the hairstyle. A lazy up-do usually means urgency while an elaborate braided bun means that its a lazy day. Usually though, the brown locks is carefully tucked into a head covering of some kind. Sometimes its a beanie other times its a shawl. Really depends on Rikka's mood. Due to an androgynous build and an average height (5'9/176 cm), most of Rikka's clothes also change a lot but comfy clothes in pale colours seem to be what Rikka favors the most. But as long as its cute, Rikka will gladly wear whatever clothes are available.

Daemon: A redish black mountain goat (x)

Daemon Name: Calliope

Questions/anything else?: Once mistook a monster for Calliope. Someone please call an adult to supervise this walking disaster

despite not having any crowned characters, i do have a 9/9/9 Qiqi who heals like a beast (around 7.5k per rotation on her skill iirc) and I've been contemplating crowning her but I don't use her all that much. Which is a shame, she carried me through a lot of early game content and is a giant asset during The Evil Dragon King weekly boss. Also she's my first 5* and the only 5* who isn't C0 (thanks for coming every time I pull for Zhongli :p) so I have a real soft spot for her

The other one's im thinking about crowning are my mains. Having Chongyun with a triple crown would be really helpful since he's my main source of damage but crowning Zhongli's skill would be so useful. I have more than enough mats to do both but I'm just scared of doing it and then never using either characters lol

if anyone would like to knock some sense into me and finally crown someone please by all means do so lol. I have every crown that has been available since launch and at this point they're just gathering dust

So basically all of his thoughts were broadcasted towards Tilly. Wonderful. His mind was a cesspool of negativity even if Binghe's outwardly persona suggested the other. Whatever. He had nuance, not just some one off character. Flipping through the pages, Binghe read leisurely while refilling his cup with tea, filling his mind with the words from the ancient looking pages. He didn't want Tilly poking around in his head any more than he already gave her. The occasional sparks of light popping from the book made him blink, spots dancing before his eyes slightly before he continued reading. No attempts at his life at least, the whispers of shadows calm as he flipped to yet another page. Sipping his tea as he read, an eyebrow arched at the descriptions inscribed in scribbles that he had to focus to decipher.

It isn't unusual for Ongreuktnm to favor one side over the other. It seems that those who cultivate the darkness are are jaded yet accepting of the ugly world while those who embrace the light find themselves the heroes of stories that hardly end well. Well Binghe certainly wasn't here to be psychoanalyzed by an ancient tome and quickly flipped to the next page. The withered old page didn't give any better information. Whoever wrote the book was full of nonsense.

Binghe was dropped into the room, looking a little bit like a drowned cat. But instead of water, shadows were sloughing off the boy's thin frame and he hastily shook them off. The shadows reluctantly but obediently slink away into the recesses of the room, joining its brethren as Binghe squinted. Being in pitch blackness for so long to be suddenly dumped into a room full of light stung and Binghe's eyes had to take some time to adjust. When the urge to rip out his eyes to relive himself of the burning pain finally abated, Binghe let out a breath and let brown eyes flutter open. Poised grace carried him over to the table as he knelt down, tucking wary legs under his thighs. Does this place have herbal teas? was his first thought when he spotted a old fashioned wicker handle tea pot. Reaching over, he gingerly removed the lid and peered in, satisfied to smell the contradictory waft of Hawthorn herbal tea. It was much different from the teas his Auntie brewed for him back in the day but the familiar actions of minding what angle his hand was at when pouring and the satisfaction of a good pot producing a steady stream of hot water was still the same.

Gingerly picking up the cup he had poured for himself, Binghe let the sweet tang of the tea spread over his tongue. Gingerly sipping, he sighed as he felt energy seep back into his exhausted body. Finishing off the cup, Binghe gingerly bit into a fig, letting the fruit slip down his throat into an empty stomach. Satisfied, he cleaned off his hands before touching the tome sat down beside him. While reading wasn't his favorite past-time, a luxury that he couldn't quite afford most days, there was an undeniable peace to simply sitting down and absorbing new information. Flipping open the well worn cover, A wave of darkness spilled out from the pages. There was nary a gasp as Binghe simply waved the shadows away like an unruly child. The shadows were his home. How foolish of it to attempt to scare him with it.

Having had closed his eyes, letting the shadows coalesce around his form, Binghe nearly screamed at the cold added weight that prodded his shoulder. Oddly though, instead of lashing out he shrunk away, shadows building up a firm wall between him and Mister Detilander, the shadows pulsing lowly in time to the cut off song that Binghe had sang. The shadows responded to Binghe's will like he had been doing it all his life, the easy swaying of the matter a welcome home to a place that the boy didn't even know existed, yet there wasn't a speck of light to be found anywhere. The complete darkness of the room spoke to Binghe's inability to even cultivate a glimmer of light. It seemed that he certainly was more proficient in one aspect than the other. With a low hum, the shadows passed through Mister Detilander harmlessly, giving Binghe the information he needed even in the pitch blackness of the room.

"Mister Detilander, this one sincerely apologizes for being unable to give you any light to see by." He hastily apologized, gripping the energy reviving fruit loosely. "I am still woefully lacking in understanding how to even communicate with this Tanji, still unable to summon forth anything. It would be impudent of me to take a break when I am surely behind the other extraordinary talents gathered here." Truly it was vexing that there was little progress that Binghe felt that he was making. So far he was only commanding the ever present shadows in the dark room to do his bidding yet he couldn't even form anything as Tilly had explained that Ongreuktnm could do.

So as a mobile player Bow immediately ranks lowest lmao but here's my general opinion on weapons
1) Polearm
2) Claymore
3) Sword
4) Catalyst
5) Bow

You can tell that my Zhongli/Chongyun main bias is coming through but I absolutely love polearm for how quick and maneuverable they are. It's a bit annoying on mobile since you can't really dodge or move around quickly so being able to launch myself past enemies with just the charged attack is a life saver. Claymore kind of follows the same logic of "If you can't dodge it, tank it and do as much damage back" lol. I should really build Beidou for those reasons lol

I like Ningguang a lot tho, her playstyle is super fun and that jade screen removes a lot of gripes I have about catalyst users, mainly that projectiles are super hard to dodge on mobile and the long range nature of catalyst users means that you're moving around a lot

I really apologize for this, but I absolutely can not stand Mona. Her character design is amazing and I love the astrological motif on it but man. That outfit. It just looks so uncomfortable and makes me shudder. Like yeah it covers more skin than any other female outfit I think and it matches with her character story but something about it just makes me profoundly uncomfortable.
Also the amount of ass shots in her story quest was. Yikes

Her kit tho is great and I'm so glad that MiHoyo finally fixed her sprint. That would have been another thing I would complain about but praise be to 2.0 for fixing that up

I don't think I would change anything about her though. As a character, her writing is fabulous and her design, while kinda yikes is also super cute. I know a lot of people love her for exactly the reasons why I hate her and I'm content with not ever interacting with her again throughout the game. She's torturing me enough by sitting in the discard unit corner anyway lol

@Zhongli
how dare you insult my main
I do agree totally that Chongyun's kit isn't great even in terms of DPS or support. His multipliers are just lackluster and his support abilities is hard to work with. At least he makes great melt comps for other DPS units like Diluc and Hu Tao who infuse their basic attacks with elements.

In a blink, Binghe was thrown into a room of pitch black darkness. The lack of light made his heart leap up in his throat and an unconscious whimper crawled up his traitorous throat. Gripping the staff in a white knuckled grip, Binghe took in a slow breath. Right, this was training. Nothing would harm him here. Well if the goal was to go through hell to understand his Tanji then this was certainly doing the trick. Boredom and utter darkness, what a pair. The utter darkness would force him to learn how to call upon the light first in order to even see. Darkness was the heavy chains that sat around his neck, light the thin blanket digging into his shoulders. Hand in hand hindering his progress, kind captivity in deceptive simplicity. Letting out the breath, Binghe flicked out his arms to fan out his sleeves before kneeling down in one smooth motion while bringing up his hands up in meditation. Ongreuktnm was gripped in hand securely, the engraved patterns digging into his scarred palms. Closing his eyes he relaxed his body and while sitting in the utter lonely room.

He didn't know where to start. Was meditating on the abundant darkness the way to go or should he try and draw out light from within? Eventually the rattling of chains called to him more than the whispers of cloth and he made his decision. Unfolding his hands, he began to hum. It was an old song, something that he wasn't sure he could remember who had sang it to him at the beginning. But it still brought Binghe some semblance of comfort within it and it lay the groundwork to channel at least some of the powers resting within the Tanji. Tapping the staff along to the swaying beat, Binghe could feel Ongreuktnm growing heavy in his hands, shadows coalescing around the decorative wood. The darkness was surprisingly warm, a familiar hug that wrapped around his wrist. A smile crept up on Binghe's face. Oh this could be fun.

Ah, so a dog lover, hm? Interesting. Filing that information away, Binghe laughed politely at Mehul's words. "I sincerely doubt that it would come to such extremes but if such events do come to pass I'm sure our kind seniors will assist us." He replied kindly, slightly confused at what Mehul meant by a burning kafana. Binghe didn't exactly watch many movies and even when he did it was usually historical dramas. Sue him but those shows were his guilty pleasures and if the writing and characterizations were good enough with a solid world building and riveting plot then he would be more than happy to become a fan of such dramas. "Besides, we will have many opportunities to train I believe. Through our efforts it would be inconceivable to not at least familiarize ourselves with objects that are said to be a part of our souls." The soft and warm smile didn't waver at the mention of Tilly's tanji, the area where he slipped the piece of paper Tilly had passed him feeling a bit heavier. It was true that Tilly's tanji was truly something to be wary of but what exactly it was remained a mystery.

Binghe very visibly brightened and as if waiting for this exact moment whipped out his cellphone. It was a brick of an object, very clearly a more modern blackberry but a blackberry nonetheless. Right there on the lock screen was the fluffiest ball of cream fur imaginable, so round and squish-able that one couldn't help but aww at the sheer cuteness radiating off the screen. "A-di is my dog! He's very lovely and well behaved even if he does enjoy stealing my socks on occasion." Gushing about the sunshine incarnate that was his Pomeranian, Binghe gleefully opened up his galleries app, showing off the dizzying 1779 photos of the puppy under a folder labeled 'Son'. Each one was picture perfect beauty of a dog who leapt and barked playfully even in the still photo. That enthusiasm only seemed to die down once Mehul came into the picture. "Says the one with quite the intriguing Tanji himself. A katana with the strongest damage potential to safety risk ratio was it? It is an honour to be working with two powerful individuals such as yourselves. I can only hope that my own slow learning nature doesn't drag this group down." His grin was nothing short of welcoming as he smoothly answered Faith's question in the same breath as his greeting.

"Ah you flatter me to retain such knowledge about someone like me." He laughed lightly, rubbing the back of his head bashfully. "Truthfully I too am quite perplexed as to this turn of events. After all, I am not what one would call a hero. One may even call me a member of the background cast." If this was a book, Binghe would probably be the villain actually if he thought about it. A minor and easy defeated one in all likelihood, but a villain nonetheless. But Binghe always had a problem with how stories characterized villains as those who were true to themselves and were yet still antagonized. Oh well, villains were the heroes of their own stories so who was Binghe to judge when roles were interchangeable depending on the lens that one looked through. "Well whatever these people have in store, it is comforting to know that we will not be venturing alone. I hope that we can get along, Faith." Show me that you are useful
