Character Name - HongJoong "Captain" Kim

Age - 23

Gender - Agender [He/Him, She/Her as Captain]

Appearance - He is shorter than average, standing at 172 cm (5'8), with an ever changing rainbow array of hairstyles. Currently, he has dyed his hair a deep blue with bangs falling just above his brows. Hair-clips and scattered around the dyed hair, giving off the image of a star filled night. No matter, the hair though, the one thing that always stays the same, however, is his piercing dark eyes and bright clothing. No matter how odd they are, his sense of fashion is impeccable and he makes the clothes work. Lately, he's taken to wearing half skirts, most of them fashioned out of old plaid, and pairing them with subtle jewelry. One could honestly mistake him for a k-pop idol if not for the fact that he is extremely camera shy

Personality - HongJoong comes off as overbearing and strict, imposing demeanor off putting people at first glace. His sense of responsibility of people who he's taken under his wing is suffocating at times, almost like a mother bear. On stage, HongJoong becomes Captain and she is a typhoon. Nothing gets in her way, sharp words and even sharper eyeliner cutting through the opposition. She is a self-proclaimed narcissist and stubborn to a fault. At heart, HongJoong is a dreamer. He's always reaching for the stars, the phrase "everything in moderation" never really vibing with him. If he does something, it is always at 120%, nothing less. His passion for the arts is unrivaled and he especially has a passion for cloth altering, customizing almost everything he wears. He has an uncanny ability to always slip into his stage persona at the drop of a hat, making others wonder who the real HongJoong is. He's oddly normal for someone in his position.... perhaps there's a reason for that?

Backstory - Born in the mid 1900's to immigrant parents, HongJoong grew up with very little. Being of mixed race and living in poverty, he resorted to less than savory means to survive and support his family. He rarely attended school, instead roaming the streets in search of work both legal and less above board. Things looked up in 1960's when he found a home within the queerest place in America, Harlem and its drag scene. There, he thrived as Captain, a drag queen who's charm was her eccentric egomania and wild aspirations of adventure and freedom. But even in a place where he could authentically express himself, it was still a struggle to be recognized and he eventually passed away nameless and forgotten to the sands of time

Cause of Initial Death - Bludgeoning though police files list AIDs exacerbated tuberculosis as the cause of death

Other - Currently holding a barista job and produces music under the name Captain

To be honest, Mountainstep hadn't quite cared about what his leader had to say. Not for a lack of respect, no he had plenty of that for Larkstar especially in the recent moons. But he had a few more pressing issues than patrol, namely the elders which he had been practically glued to ever since the start of the journey. They were all tired, old bones sore and weary. Even his parents, the youngest of them all, were curled up together as they nursed swollen joints. The elders den was like much of the camp unfinished. It was barely more than a skeleton of a structure, held up with strategically placed branches and sheer willpower. While the natural structure of the forest lent itself to den building, the ground was still uncomfortable to sleep on, the bare nests that they had scrapped together a far cry from the comfort in their old camp. Frowning, he made a mental note to get better bedding before flopping down bodily in the middle of the cluster of elders.

"Mountainkit is cold!" He warbled with exaggerated tones, paws cycling in the air as he flailed around. It succeeded in drawing chuckles and good-natured cuffs on the head from the elders as they cooed over the warrior and pressed themselves flush against Mountainstep's voluminous fur. It wasn't long before the burly cat was buried under a pile of elders, his soft coat providing a better bedding than the cold forest floor could ever.

Cat Name - Mountainstep

Gender - Male

Age in moons (months) - 24 moons (2 years old)

Rank - Warrior

Appearance (Pic or description) - A black norwegian forest cat, Mountainstep boasts an impressive volume of fur, patches of grey peppering it. His eyes are two different colors, the green and blue so similar in color that one has to look closely to realize that they are indeed different. He always struts around with impeccable posture, never slinking or cowering

Relatives (if any) - Leopardleap (Sire), Oceanfur (Dame), Breezekit (Sister, deceased), Swiftkit (Sister, deceased)

Backstory (optional) - Mountainstep had quite the normal life. Despite a very chaotic start to it in which his two littermates passed away after their first winter, the rest of his kithood went quite smoothly. There was a minor hiccup when Mountainstep had begged to become a medicine cat apprentice instead of a warrior but because there already was a medicine cat apprentice, he begrudgingly became a warrior. To everyone it was the perfect choice. Mountainstep, despite being young, had an impressively sturdy build and powerful muscles making him a naturally talented warrior. Hunting, fighting, patrolling, whatever it was Mountainstep found himself easily excelling in these areas, becoming the so called prodigy of his generation. But his favorite activity would always be taking care of the elders and queens, especially finding joy in caring for his parents who have since moved into the elder's den. Even as a warrior, he can be found lounging with the elders and lazily grooming their fur, acting like a spoiled kit

Passcode - Firestar

I'm still figuring out a good strategy since Albedo's new and I'm testing different times when to put down his solar isotoma, but for now I usually go in with ZhongLi's shield before drawing them in with Kazuha's skill. Then I can use Xiao's double skill attack to take care of the grouped up enemies and reposition myself before taking care of the rest with ZhongLi's burst or normal attacks. So far, I think popping Albedo's isotoma and burst right after Kazuha draws the enemies in might be the best bet since I have him on Noblesse Oblige, though I'm open to suggestions.

Who needs reactions when you can just pelt people with rocks :p (goru please come home so i can buff my geo team more)

Y'all, life has kicked my butt into the proverbial ditch but I am making bad decisions to play genshin again. I've been saving for an Albedo rerun since he'd be such a great support for main dps Zhongli so i spent all my primos today and got

Jean

Yeah not happy about that lol but at least albedo came home after 60 pulls so at least its not pity

But now i have my dream team that I like to nickname "Elemental Reactions who?"

Zhongli - Main DPS | Xiao - Sub DPS | Albedo - Sub DPS/Support | Kazuha - Support

Song BingLiu could only smile widely, sunshine grin pulling freckled cheeks back. The mischievous glint in his eyes told Meka all he needed to know about exactly how long he had been there. Long enough to have heard most of the conversation yet short enough for a quick change. "Thank you." He said earnestly, the simple gesture conveying the same warmth that shone through his smile. "I'd be happy to share some tips with you, Soliel. It's not too hard once you get the hang of it." Song BingLiu could still remember the days when he had to learn to quickly change his clothes, the almost comical dramatics that went on in order to slip in and out of clothing a hilarious memory that he still regarded fondly.

Emerging from his room, Alparos felt a little bit overdressed. While everyone else was more or less wearing casual wear, his was noticeably both more high end and more formal. With a blazer, dress shirt, turtleneck a slacks, it was easy to see that he came from money. A lot of money. If one squinted, they would probably come to the conclusion that they were designer clothes. Unfortunately, aside from a few gifted sweaters from the year before, everything that Alaparos owned was indicative of wealth. But still, he continued to wear them, unwilling to buy new clothes. Even if he knew that he had the resources available to do so, buying new clothes seemed like a waste when he had perfectly serviceable, if a bit expensive, clothes that he already owned.

So it was with light trepidation that he rolled back into the main room. The blanket that usually lived draped over his lap was instead hug to the back of his KSL, leaving him feeling the slightest bit naked. Spotting Meka already changed, he began to wheel himself over only for Lilith to reach him first. While he himself didn't have any problems with the first year, he liked to reserve judgement until after he had gotten to know the person, he could see that the others weren't exactly fond of her either. Still, he would give her a chance so he rolled over regardless. "Careful not to spill any." He warned warmly, knowing that he would be the one cleaning if that were to happen.

♓︎ Sσɳɠ BιɳɠLιυ ♓︎

It was a quick affair, changing. It didn't take much effort at all. Swapping a fashionably cut but ultimately only aesthetically pleasing sweater for a much more practical one, layering two atop one another. Blue and white swirled together, unified by the light grey beret that replaced his beanie. Sneakers were traded for more fashionable boots, clunky enough to make a clack on the floors yet sleek enough to be fashionable. The only thing that he didn't change out of was the skinny black jeans that he accessorized with a clip on silver chain. The outermost blue sweater was much too big for him, sleeves swallowing up his small frame and falling just past the palms of his hands so only finger peeked out from under the well worn fabric.

So quick was his change that he was able to pop in and out without very much notice, sneakily returning to the room to stand right behind Soliel in a experiment to see how long it would take the other to realize. He could shamelessly admit that everyone in the room looked dazzling in their new attire, so much so that he felt slightly under dressed. But even that thought didn't last long. Song BingLiu knew he had a good sense of fashion and it just meant that everyone else around him had styles that he could greatly appreciate.

Song BingLiu hunched his shoulders slightly as if such an action would do anything to protect himself from words. He could understand why Lilith would think that way and couldn't quite blame her. She didn't know how to read his hands and hid physical body language hadn't exactly been open or warm. But just because he understood didn't mean that he wasn't hurt by it nor did he feel obligated to change her opinion of him. Turning his attention to the eager talk about what clothes they would be wearing, he perked up. Clothes were one of the few non musical interests he had and the chance to show off his fashion sense was too good to pass up. Waving cheerily to Soliel as she disappeared into her own room, Song BingLiu turned to his other friend. "I think you'd look really good in a sweater. You have the figure to pull it off too." He encouraged, a wide smile on his face. "As for me, I'll probably also go for casual. I took one of my brother's jackets in secret before I left so maybe I'll wear that."

"You flatter me." Was the embarrassed reply, ears red and one hand tugging at the neck of his sweater as if meaning to hide behind the knitted fabric. He was about to sign something else when Lilith's giggle and flippant words made his nose scrunch up, pulling back with a grimace. "I see my worries were unfounded. Unlike you, I'm the type to heed warnings so for your own good, I'll be going. And please don't assume things about me." It was almost impressive how much disgust could be conveyed through hands alone as Song BingLiu shot Lilith a dirty look. The least someone could do before slinging around accusations and labels is research them before hand. Just because he had an alter doesn't mean that he was a DID system and even if he had alters, who was to say that it wasn't Song BingLiu who was fronting the entire time? All in all it was just plain rude.

Boldly grabbing Lyra's hand, he led them back to Sliel's side. "Dinner sounds lovely." He signed warmly, doing his best to put the day's weird events out of his head. He would only focus on the good things. Like making new friends and eating delicious cookies.

"Yeah, thanks for transl-"He was cut off with a squeak as Lilith yelled at him from the table. His hands were clutched close to his chest when he turned around, eyes wide and bugged out as he stared at Lilith. His jaw worked slightly as he contemplated on how to reply. On one hand, he could speak and show the other girl exactly why he didn't talk, bringing the full irony of his last name upon them, or he could reply with his hands. Of course the safest option would be to sign his reply, but he was feeling a bit vindictive so he smiled and sang.

"I told you to be careful around me, little firecracker. Who knows what may happen to you. A siren song is quite alluring after all." The velveteen purr rang out through the room, turning heads the moment the first syllable was cooed. It was a stark contrast to the nervousness that ran through Song BingLiu before, the confident sway as he leaned over to tap Lilith's nose almost condescendingly. The teasing smile though didn't suggest malice, just mischief. That teasing spark, soon faded away, however and it was quickly replaced by terror. "Wait, sorry sorry. I didn't mean to say that I didn't mean to say anything. You're alright, right? Nothing weird?"

♉︎ 𝔸𝕝𝕒𝕡𝕒𝕣𝕠𝕤 ℙ𝕒𝕡𝕒𝕕𝕠𝕡𝕠𝕦𝕝𝕠𝕤 ♉︎

"Be careful. Call if you need anything." He smiled, nodding in recognition. He could vaguely remember which room was Meka's and kept that in mind along with Lilith's. It was simply for house keeping reasons, drafting up a written map of the dorm. It would help everyone knew who's room was who's. That train of thought was quickly cut off though by a pull and his head instinctively snapped over to the boy who had been signing for his introduction. Or at least he assumed it was signing given another girl's spoken translation. His voice instinctively pulled Alparos towards the other but as the words weren't directed to him specifically, it was easier to simply gape and watch the teasing go on.

Seeing that it was his turn next, Song BingLiu waved slightly. "Hi, I'm Song BingLiu. Song is fine I think. I'm a first year. You should probably be careful around me." His hands spelled out, shaky and nervous. He wasn't sure how many people in the dorm actually knew how to speak sign and condensed all he wanted to say into a few simple sentences. It wasn't like he wanted to say much else, he was shy with new people and large groups, but everything he wanted to blurt out would be inadequately conveyed by his hands alone. And directly speaking out would only be more trouble than it was worth. He catches the eye of one of the seniors, the blond one in the wheelchair, who gives him an encouraging smile and Song BingLiu gulped, hands moving again despite how awkward the silence was to him. "I also like music? And dance?" Here his fingers fluttered, as if he was searching for a word that he had forgotten before smiling awkwardly. "I hope we get along?"

Gripping their bag, Amaris nervously held Yuan in their hands, the sandshrew having curled up into a compact ball. Around their neck, Yang hissed and flicked his tail against the other pokemon's shell, heavily displeased that someone else was stealing his master's attention. Amaris didn't really mind, only occasionally yanking Yuan away from Yang when the later's annoyance became too much. There were too many people around and Amaris didn't like hanging around new people. Sure, they had often been described as the earth, steady and kind, but those people didn't know how much of a truth they were speaking. The earth scared them. If only because they had so much sway over her.

Seeing as he was next, Alparos rolled forward slightly and waved. "Greetings, I'm Alparos Papadopulos, but please just call me Al. Feel free to use whatever pronouns for me. I'm another second year and please help yourself to the cookies that are being passed around. If you have any questions, please feel free to ask me, especially if you have concerns regarding the dorms. Even if it is just to ask for a snack, please do not hesitate to find me. I hope that everyone can enjoy their year here." He smiled warmly, bowing formally to the gathered students, hands poised delicately on his lap as he lowered himself to them. "Ah, though before I forget, if you would all be so kind as to tell me which dorms you have claimed for yourself. It simply makes housekeeping simpler and rest assured that you will be given your due privacy." He tacked on before retreating again. His face was warm and welcoming though it did challenge anyone staring at him, meek yet confidant.

"Its no problem at all. Do remember your phone though, it wouldn't do to live it around unattended." He teased lightly, handing Meka his phone with both hands. "And you as well, young madam. Remember to keep a close eye on your belongings. Though you needn't feel bad about taking the food, it was made for that very reason. Everyone is welcome to it." There were a few familiar faces and he waved to who he thought was Venture though he couldn't be quite sure, a welcoming smile on his face. He encouraged the baked goods to be passed around, the still warm and delicious treats making their way around the room. It was no where near the scale that Alaparos would have liked to bake but these were unexpected circumstances and he was glad that he could share something with everyone else. Besides, the delight that burst over people's faces when they tasted the product of his and Meka's work was more than enough to brighten his day.

When it was suggested that they all try and get to know each other a bit more, he honed in on whoever spoke. It was the girl who he had handed the camera back to, her sunny disposition matching the blinding flash of the camera. She seemed like an intriguing character, someone who could be at the center of the room and blossom under the attention. A natural leader.

"I'm fine. I think?" He signed hesitantly, smile wobbly yet present. "It's okay. I really don't mind this. Thank you for the concern." A slender finger flicked and toyed with the dangling chains that swung from his pierced ear, callused pads running over the textured metal. He was slightly worried about the whole getting to know each other thing, unsure if others would understand him. It was already a dream that his two new friends understood sign but the rest... he didn't want to impose. But speaking was another hurdle all together, especially in a room full of people. He still didn't understand what was going on with his voice and how it made others trip over themselves in an attempt to please him, but if that took effect over a large group of people, he loathed to think what would happen then. Chaos, certainly, but Song BingLiu didn't want to try it out any time soon. "Can one of you interpret for me when it's my turn?" He asked hesitantly, feeling like he was imposing slightly. But all things considered, it was the best option.

"Is everyone alright?" Came the motherly concern that coloured Alaparos' voice as he rolled into the common rooms, eyebrows knitted together in worry. Golden eyes swept across the room taking in both the new and familiar faces. It didn't look like anyone was dying so he was going to just assume that no one was dying or anything like that. Hopefully. And if anyone was... well it was a good thing that he was certified to administer first aid he supposed? When everyone had rushed to check out the noise, Alaparos had simply sighed and offered the nervous looking first year who had stayed behind a plate of shortbread cookies and wheeled himself towards the dorms after turning off the stoves and making sure that the kitchen wouldn't catch on fire the moment he rolled out into the hallway. Oh his way, he had picked up Meka's phone and Soliel's camera, both pieces of technology seated innocuously on his floured blanket lap.

♓︎ Sσɳɠ BιɳɠLιυ ♓︎

Song BingLiu was having a day. Suffice to say, he was left standing alone in a kitchen with a plate of cookies in his hands. Two actually, one plate of shortbread and another of chocolate chip. Taking one shortbread cookie, he nibbled on it while trailing after the wheelchair bound senior that had previously been baking said cookies. The moment he arrived at the dorms again, he wordlessly passed the plate of cookies to his friends before scurrying to hide behind the closet wall. There was simply way too many people around and while he wasn't opposed to large crowds it was a bit overwhelming.

The smile was a little sad, the reminder that this was their final year. Glancing over his shoulder as he popped the shortbread dough into the oven, he was struck speechless at the photos. Was that really what he looked like? One flour covered hand came up to gently pat his own cheek as if making sure that yes, the warm aura surrounding the baker captured on the screen was indeed him. "Oh." He simply breathed, eyes flickering between the phone and Meka. "Is that h-" Whatever he was going to say was cut off by the sound of a shutter going off and Alaparos instinctively flinched, drawing himself up to sit up straighter and hurriedly wiping off any flour on his person. His head snapped towards the entrance to the kitchen to see three people crowded around the entryway. They weren't anyone that he could recognize so he assumed that they were either from a different dorm or in their first year. There was a weird kind of staring contest between the two groups before a loud scream distracted them all. At the same moment, the timer that he had set for the cookies went off and Alaparos threw in the proverbial towel. Yeah, he really wasn't going to deal with all of this at once.

Opening the oven, Alaparos gingerly took out a batch of spiced caramel shortbread and set the tray on the counter to cool. Seeing that the chocolate chips were all rolled out into the proper shapes, he put those into the oven and restarted the counter. "Well, either you can come in and be my taste tester or you can go and check out what that scream was all about." He offered lightly, speaking to everyone present.

♓︎ Sσɳɠ BιɳɠLιυ ♓︎

The birdsong of shock tittered through the hallways, following Song BingLiu as he was carried down towards the kitchens. Any attempted signing was thwarted as he was pulled along. It wasn't anything awful, though his feet did trip over themselves in his haste to follow. He hoped dearly to the stars and back that the trio wasn't going to interrupt anything but luck wasn't exactly Song BingLiu's friend. Of course it wasn't just one person who they had barged in on but two. Even worse was the fact that Soliel's camera shutter alerted them to their presence and Song BingLiu shrunk away from the blond haired student's inquisitive gaze.

The shriek though. That sounded like something straight out of a horror movie and may whoever made that sound pray that they never get found because Song BingLiu was going to have some very choice words about swearing, especially at a decibel loud enough to make his ears ring. Wincing, he shot a dirty look at the direction of the dorms, lip curled in disdain.

"Just so it'll last longer?" He teased, brushing off the flour that had fallen on his lap off. "Go ahead, I don't mind." Subconsciously, he tucked a few stray hairs behind his ear and a finger rubbed over his freckles. It wasn't like he was self conscious or anything, it was simply a weird habit built over the years. Aristocracy didn't take too kindly to odd imperfections. But perhaps it was a blessing that he had been in seclusion from the aristocratic eye and didn't put too much thought into his appearance, unafraid to get more than a little dirty. Cooking, after all, wasn't exactly the cleanest art. And so, covered in flour, Alaparos began to knead the dough, most of it identical in appearance. Despite this visual similarity between what he was working with, however, he seemed to move efficiently, arms seeming to never tire despite the amount of kneading he was doing.

♓︎ Sσɳɠ BιɳɠLιυ ♓︎

Song BingLiu stared slack jawed at his new friend and her offer, eyes darting between the sweater and her as if to confirm that yes, she really was gifting him something. "Really? You're really going to give it to me?" He asked, looking as if the silver knitted wool was the singular greatest thing he had ever seen. In some sense, though, it was. It was not only a practical gift but it was also thoughtful. The sweater was handmade, obviously taking the maker time and effort to even learn the skill much less employ it to create something for someone. The sweater itself looked warm and sturdy, not something to be worn once or twice for show but durable and made for work. All in all it was one of the best things he had ever been offered.

At Lyra's voice, Song BingLiu turned around with a happy grin. "Look at what she made! Isn't it pretty?" He signed excitedly.

"There's a joy in seeing others derive pleasure from your work." He agreed, finalizing the list of what he would be making in his head. "But enough of that, everyone must be arriving so let us start! Flour and brown sugar can be found three cupboards to your right, under the food processor. White sugar is in the cupboard to the left of that. Here is a set of measuring cups and mixing bowls are in the shelf above you. You'll need a cup of both types of sugar and three cups of flour." It was as if a switch was flipped and much of Alaparos' demeanor snapped to attention, instructions rolling off his tongue smoothly. He handed over a set of silver cups of varying sizes as he rolled over to the aforementioned places where ingredients were kept. It was a surprising shift, his focus on relaying instructions to Meka while working on his own dough, moving quickly despite being wheelchair bound. Despite how difficult it looked to others, for Alaparos it was almost second nature. His mind had always kept a running commentary on recipes and speaking them aloud was a natural habit, albeit a slightly disruptive one, so focusing on speaking one recipe and making another wasn't too hard.

♓︎ Sσɳɠ BιɳɠLιυ ♓︎

With his instruments displayed, Song BingLiu carefully rolled out of the room to reconvene with his new friends. He was happy that his room was big enough to house his frankly ridiculous collection of instruments, the sheer size of the room able to fit it all with more than enough room to spare. Perhaps if he had the money to spare he could buy himself another instrument. A new one, not like the dirt cheap embarrassments that he owned. It would be nice to have a small present to celebrate his moving into a new place. As he wondered what he would possibly like to get, he arrived at the common rooms and paused. Food. There was the smell of food but more importantly he could see Soliel. A happy chirrup sounded, catching her attention. "Did you finish unpacking?" He signed, his hands much more readable now that they were both free and he didn't have to make shortcuts to only sign with one hand.

Considering that outside of class, the second most likely place to find Alaparos was the kitchens, it wasn't surprising. This was his space and only students who specialized in culinary pursuits could compare to the amount of time he spent in these very rooms. It was a facility that every chef let alone a homemaker could ever hope for. Meka's actions garnered an amused smile, oh so different from his usual smiles it its endeared nature. "Would you be okay if I asked you to make chocolate chip cookies? I'm sure many of the new comers will appreciate a classic but what other cookies would they appreciate, I wonder." Leaning on the counter, Alparos made a mental list of what baked goods to make. Oatmeal cookies perhaps would also be added on. Last year, he had made raspberry sugar cookies and those were well received and he had learned a recipe for spiced caramel shortbread so he could test that out. It was a luxury to only have to think about what to make and not be limited by ingredient availability. The University would provide unfailingly and he knew where to look if they couldn't be found in the kitchen or pantry proper.

There was a moment of hesitation, warring emotions written all over his face before he stepped into the empty room decisively. The first thing he did was set down the turtle enclosure on the bed side table before unpacking his veritable hoard of instruments. Violins, Violas, Zithers, Qin, and Ukuleles were re-stringed and tuned, flutes and dizis were shined and assembled while reed instruments were put on their proper stands, the sole trumpet placed on the table for later tuning, and the euphonium was set down at a corner. By the time his duffel bag was empty, about half of the room was covered with instruments of varying sizes. A part of him wished that he had brought a guqin but with how old and antique his only model was, he wasn't sure if it could survive the trip so had left it home.
