Mira dodged and listened to Thalia, “I see, you’re quite skilled in this magic. Quite an interesting move to tell me how it works” she exclaimed while moving around on the ground. She started to close the gap between her and Thalia, ideally she wants Thalia to be on the ground to land a good hit. The small whirlwind sent at her cut her in a few places as she ran through. “Let me pay it back to you, as I show you a trick of my own” Mira said to Thalia as she clapped her hands together. She opened them in a circular motion and fire appeared from one while water appeared in the other. Mixing them together she started to create a mist that covered the area in a cloud. “By combining fire and water with lots of magic one can do something like this” said her voice as it echoed through the mist. The mist was so thick that Mira couldn’t be seen anymore. This mist was also heavy with magic, and couldn’t be blown away or dispersed nearly as easy as regular mist.

Mira was taken aback by this sudden attack from Thalia, she hadn’t seen the extent of his darkness magic and what she did was quite impressive. She stomped her foot on the ground and the soil under her started to turn to a murky, almost quicksand like substance. Slowly she used fire magic to dim her shadow, closing in on spots that Thalia could use to her advantage. “That’s a neat trick you got there!” Mira acknowledged. Although she didn’t want to accept it, her earth magic was very weak because of the problems with it.

Mira’s face turned into a grin, she jumped back and was a bit farther from Thalia. She put her hands out and a pressurized beam of water made its way towards Thalia, it had the same force of small waterfall.

Klause watched Samton and Willow with interest, occasionally hitting down notes. “Water magic, yes this is good. This will be beneficial” he said to himself while watching. He had sat down a bit away from the battle to watch and other spectators started to do the same.

	Mira took in her surroundings as they stopped, kneeling down she touched the ground. The flow of earth magic was weak but seemed to be there, she may be able to work with this. “I like it, it’ll be great. Mira nodded, “Yes that would be nice, even though it’s going haywire I would like to see how much earth I can control. Along with practice my smaller magics” she said while standing up. After a quick coating of makeup she was at the door and ready, she waited for Thalia with a smile.

Klause made himself comfortable on the sidelines, preparing to watch Samton and Willow spar. “Show me what you can do” he said to himself.

	Mira waved Therese goodbye and mouthed a thank you. Looking back to Thalia she grabbed her hand, “You’re so strong Thalia, you inspire me. Neither of our situations are ideal, but you make it better. Thank you” she softly said while looking at her in the mirror. Was this what it meant to have a friend? Someone you trust? Mira held the note from Therese in her hand and nodded, “Yes, one could call it that. Thank you for the hair goop” she said to Therese with a smile. Looking back to Thalia her face could show that she was uncertain, “I can’t even call my home a kingdom. It’s in shambles and ruined, the people starve and are treated miserably. Even if I could her through to them, there’s no way I could repair all the damage” she said while crushing the note in her palm without noticing.

She extended it to Thalia while she looked back into the mirror. “Those people, they’ve been through so much. Mira looked down while Thalia did her hair, “I don’t know how much time I have left. They’re bound to find me soon” Mira said while gripping her pant leg. Her knuckles turned white from how hard she was clenching the fabric. Even though it was quite knotted and tangled her hair was quite easy to work with and came loose with very little ease. She opened her mouth to speak again before she saw Therese, she waved with an awkward smile then looked back to the mirror she sat in front of.

	Mira heard the door and slowly looked over, not expecting to see Thalia in her room. Mira emitted a small gasp as she immediately cupped her face under her eye, she hadn’t had time to put on the makeup over her family marking. Mira pulled the bedsheets over her head, trying to protect herself from the sunlight shining through her windows. The sounds of students outside and the light was enough of a force to drag her out of bed. She groaned as her legs sprung off the bed and into action. “Mornings never get easier” she groggily said while she put on her clothes for the day. The real challenge of the morning was brushing her hair, as it was curled, twisted, and sticking up like she had been electrocuted.

Klause stood around students at the Mage practice field. He made small talk with several students while he watched Willow and Samton. Even though it was just practice something like this is what he had been waiting to see. Straightening his posture he looked over the students to observe the two.

Mira had followed Thalia to the field, although she was nervous she was also excited. Animals never really liked her, but she didn’t get many chances with them to begin with. Kneeling on her knee to her closer to the animals, she slowly lifted her hand out. She thought that they liked to sniff whoever they were meeting first before contact. “Hi there ..” she awkwardly said.

Klause sat on a bench near the pond, listening to the crickets and other wildlife. He believed what he did at this dinner was a success although now he had to wait for those results m. “Waiting sucks” he groaned while slumping in the seat.

Mira was taken aback by the sudden request, it was true that they probably need to be in a circle but was it the right choice to go with them? “I would love to go see them, I need a while to decide on this” she said to Thalia as she stood up. “They’re both skilled, there’s no denying that. We want to be in the best circle we can be, but we also don’t want to wait long enough that there are none left..” Mira started and then continued her bad habit of mumbling as she walked with Thalia.

After cleaning his dish the best he could Klause left the dining area and excused himself. As he walked outside he could feel the breeze tugging on his clothing, it felt nice.

“Yes! Let’s definitely train together. I need to work on both my fire and water anyways so it’ll be nice” she said to Thalia while nodding. Gingerly catching the Phoenix, she admired its detail even though it was done in a short amount of time. Flame magic seeped out of her fingers and made the Phoenix have a warm orange glow, but it wasn’t burning the wood. She focused intently on keeping the magic under control. “I would like to leave soon as well, social gatherings aren’t really my thing” she admitted.

Klause smirked, “Very well, thank you. I look forward to it” he said with a small bow. Retreating back to his seat, he had gotten mixed looks from most students.

Mira nodded with a smile, “Yes please, I’ll join you” She said while extending out her hand. “I’d love to train with you as well, although it won’t be the best because of how the earth element is at the moment” she added with a sigh.

Klause nodded, “My goals are quite simple Mr Goldenbach, I would like to study your magic along with others in your circle. I have a feeling it will be a relatively strong circle, so you could guess why I can’t pass this up” he said while straightening his posture. “In exchange for helping me with my research I will be a valuable asset of the circle, I can heal you with my magic as well as cure you of ailments. Hell, we could even become friends” he said to Samton. He kept eye contact the whole time, to show that he was serious.

Mira snapped out of a daze when Thalia came around, “I could see why, he is royalty after all. They tend to have very strong magic and some can even wield weapons like a knight instead. If I was confident I would probably try to pick him first. Not to mention his circle will most likely be one of the strongest” she said as she started mumbling.

Klause hunched over, with a grin forming on his face. “Klause Morteum, pleased to make you acquaintance. There isn’t a disease in this kingdom I can’t cure, or a disease that I can’t make” he announced while taking his hat off. “I’ve heard a lot about you Mr Goldenbach, and I don’t plan on wasting this opportunity. You’ll want me as an ally” he said while putting his hat back on. Klause had a wide smile, not one that seemed nervous but it didn’t seem happy either.

Mira cut up her food and ate slowly, the thought of circles themselves didn’t sit well with her. Making friends wasn’t her thing, she had never had a friend before. Especially now she was nervous, although looking over to Thalia calmed her down a bit. ‘She’d want me in her group right? Maybe it won’t be so bad’ she thought to herself while she ate. She ate quite elegantly, using each utensil as it should be used and having good manners.

Klause had eaten his food fairly quickly, wasting no time to find his potential comrades. This part of him wasn’t the best, and didn’t show good manners. Laying an eye on Samton he stalked over to their side of the table and pointed at him “You, let me join your circle. You’ll need me. I’m a doctor, and a good one at that” he said bluntly while disregarding all manners. The fact that Samton was royalty wasn’t the reason he wanted to be in a circle with him, it was that Samton’s circle would most likely be powerful, and he wanted to learn all he could about magic types and new spells. Especially from talented mages. Klause ignored the stares and shocks of a few of the other students around them, not realizing what he did.
