"Well for one they're incredibly docile, almost anyone can tame one and train it like a cat or dog," Akane stated scratching the head of the Nightwalker following Natalia. "They'll eat anything, but they love fairy dust and a special kind of rare berry called the Honey Star Berry."

"Wait, haven't I heard that name before?" Jeremy asked, just coming downstairs after not seeing Akane nearby. His messy mop of hair indicated that he had just woken up.

"They're small star-shaped berries that come in red, yellow, green, blue, purple, and white. It has a hard outer layer and a super soft, nearly chewy inside, like fruit snacks. Except they taste of the sweetest honey." As Akane spoke she brought up a hologram-like image above her hands. "When the berries are bunched they formed one singular iridescent star-shaped berry and the more that are added the bigger it gets. But that also being said, the more that are taken the smaller it becomes."

The creature with Faith repeated the notes back to her, like a mockingjay, it repeated the notes perfectly regardless of the range in crisp clear tones, but it couldn't repeat words.

The creature followed Natalia having to make itself smaller in order to fit into the hut, where Akane was already up. She was half awake until she noticed the creature behind Natalia. "Wait a minute is that-" Akane slowly approached it with a hand extended to pet it and it nuzzled her hand, giving consent as it made a light clicking sound, picking up on her fairy dust. "It is, it's a Nightwalker. I thought they went extict."

	When Tayla dropped the crossbow the creature relaxed, not completely, but enough to indicate that it wouldn't attack unless provoked, clearly it was still wary of Tayla. At Natalia's whistling, it turned and looked at her, making noise from an unseen voicebox, as if trying to mimic the tune coming from the female's throat. [Read more]

	The taller one looked at Faith for a moment and seeing her weaponless ignored her as she posed no threat. The smaller one ducked behind Faith in worry, similar to a scared child having already deemed her safe. [Read more]

	At the sight of the crossbow the smaller creature hid behind the taller one, which instantly became aggressive. Making itself taller the eyes narrowed and the mouth opened in a perfect large circle, revealing rows and rows of razor sharp teeth. It gave a surprisingly loud roar then tensed its body, waiting for attack [Read more]

The creatures followed Natalia without question to the house, and while they rested on the beds that had been made for them, they never truly slept.

When morning came Faith and Natalia couldn't find the creatures, they instead were hiding under the roof of the group's house. Why? Because it became clear that the sunlight was their weakness, it became apparent when the taller one's leg had come into contact with the light, it burned the skin, slowly reducing it to ash. But it pulled its leg away before it could fully have its leg reduced to ash, slowly healing the wound on its own.

The smaller one of the two was the first to approach after some reasonable hesitation. As Faiths' hand gently stroked the top of the smooth and somewhat cool top of its head she noticed something else, while at a distance the creature had no visible mouth or nose, up close she could make out two very small vertical slits and a single small horizontal slit that made up its mouth and nose. The noises of contenement coming from the smaller one were almost identical to a cat's purr, seemingly enjoying the feeling of Faith's hand stroking it.

The taller one approached Natalia, changing its height to super tall as it moved like a contortionist. Another strange thing, it had no muscles either, probably why it was able to twist and move into strange shapes as it looked Natalia over cautiously. When it deemed her safe it lowered itself to its original height and nuzzled its face into her arm, both to smell her scent and request attention.

As the rest of the team headed to bed which left Faith and Natalia to work, Faith felt like she was being watched by something, but every time she looked up there was nothing. Upon maybe the fifth time of looking up, she saw something in her peripheral vision.

The small emerald dots glowed in the faint light from the campfire. The skin was see-through, allowing the girls to see that they didn't seem to have bones or many organs, rather one large mass within its head and a much smaller one in the center of its body. They moved on two legs with ease and grace, raising and lowering their height as needed, seemingly by will.

Yet as odd as these things were, the creatures didn't attack, rather hang back in the tree line to observe the two females. It appeared that these things were as curious of them as the girls were the creatures.

Jeremy frowned, then we better not stay out here in case they are planning something."

Akane nodded. "I agree, if the Gamemakers are getting something ready then we should be prepared by getting rest. We all need it after what we all went through today."

Charlie got up and stretched her limbs before giving a wave and going into the hut she had made to rest for the night. "I think I'm going to turn in for the night too," Moona yawned. "Goodnight everyone."

Akane looked up from her water and started skinning the animal and removed the innards, feet/hooves. With that done she tossed it aside on a large magical bowl of sorts, when she had finished the bowl and its contents disappeared with a poof of magic.

Charlie started up a fire as Akane fixed the meat on a spit that rotated on its own thanks to Jeremy using the salt water as a substitute for electricity. About forty-five minutes later the meat was done and the group started to eat their dinner of meat and berries and herbs.

As the sky darkened the anthem played, the seal shone in the sky for a few moments before showing that only four people had died today in the blood bath. With a final flourish, the seal reappeared then disappeared.

"Aren't there usually more?" Akane asked finally. "That's a lot less compared to the past years."

	When Natalia and Fatih had returned from their hunt Charlie had built a good-sized hut. . .or maybe it was a house while Akane had been purifying the few waterbottles the group had. Blossom and Leaf were walking back to the house to check up on some of the worse injured people. They had mostly re-filled their medical bags.

"Do you think we'll be able to win the upcoming war?" Blossom asked Leaf nervously.

"I hope so," Leaf sighed. "If we don't, I'd hate to think what would happen."

"I miss home."

"Yeah, me too Blossom, but when this is all over we can return home."

A long since loomed over the two medics as they finally arrived, yet neither entered. Blossom looked at Leaf. "Is something wrong?" Leaf shook her head, but Blossom didn't believe her. "Leaf, please tell me-"

"I. . .I just can't stop thinking about it. . .Barry's death." Leaf admitted finally, tears pricking her eyes. "I just keep wondering if I had gotten to his side sooner. . .maybe I could've saved him."

Blossom looked at Leaf then held her close. "Leaf, you did everything you could to help. You even said it yourself, the injury was too great." Leaf broke down in Blossom's arms and Blossom held her lover close. "Shh, shh. I'm here. Right here." Blossom rubbed Leaf's back and put her head on the medic's shoulder. Leaf nuzzled into Blossom's chest as much as she could, still sobbing. Blossom placed a hand on Leaf's soft, red cheek and rubbed, wiping away each tear as it fell.

After a few minutes of consoling, Leaf's sobs died down to sniffles. She lifted her head to make eye contact with Blossom.

Blossom smiled a little and kissed Leaf on the nose. "We'll be okay."

At the sound of a falling tree, Tayla looked over and saw that Charlie had chopped down a decent-sized tree and had put in its place a small sampling. As for the big tree, Charlie was trying to push the tree back to the group, and clearly failing to do so, rather performing a somersault in her efforts.

Akane stretched a little then looked at Faith. "You two be careful, be sure to make it back by nightfall." She then turned her attention to Tayla. "I can start purifying some of the water, that way we at least have something to drink."

Akane took it with a nod of thanks when the sound of what was the best guess was hammering made them jump. Akane whirled around to find Charlie had opened her fanny pack (which revealed her inventory) and had placed a crafting table down, and was in the process of making a bow for herself with some sticks and some string. Though Charlie had paused when Akane and Natalia looked at her. In front of the crafting table was a newly made wooden axe.

"Looks like someone already knows what they're doing," Akane remarked, rather intrigued by the child.

Upon hearing that they were almost to land Jeremy gave a huff of relief, soon he'd be off this cursed mode of transportation and he'd never have to step foot on it again! Well, hopefully.

Soon enough the boat lightly bumped against the land (after Charlie showed off her sick boat parking skills) and teh group was faced with a wide vast open plain. The long grass was dotted with patches of wildflowers, small scruffy dead trees, and the occasional oak. Animal wise there wasn't much of an option at the moment aside from the bird call above them, but Charlie did notice a small mammal scurry past about as big as a prairie dog even though the animal wasn't.

Akane glanced around as a hopefully breeze blew past. "Alright, now for the big question: do we use the boat as shelter, or do we make one up close by?"

Jeremy nodded and thanked Molly for his help as he took the other band and slipped it on his other arm. Now came the hard part, waiting. He leaned his head against the board and kept his eyes on the horizon to the best of his ability.

Akane, seeing Jeremy doing a bit better, went back to helping Tayla organizing the bags again. "So what did we all get food-wise?" Akane asked as she handled a sleeping bag that reflected body heat. Her tones had dropped slightly at the mention of food just in case she accidentally set Jeremy off again, which she didn't want.

Charlie perked up slightly at the map, they were getting close to land, while it would still be uncertain as an exact time, but it would have to be soon. Waving a free arm at Tayla, trying to get her attention.
