Some new mutations have been added to the Halloween Potion!

-Spider Web Skull Growth [Epic]
-Aura of Halloween [Epic]

The Spider Web Skull Growth now means spiderwebs can grow in your Death Cat's right eyesocket!

Some may note that I've recently added a new category to the extra mutations: Auras.
These were inspired by Flight Rising's Elemental Auras Fire | Ice | Earth in terms of being a concentrated element that forms and floats around the main body of the creature. The main difference is they'll mostly encapsulate a couple different pieces of that element [rocks & crystals] rather than just being one main part of the element.
These traits are still a work in progress in terms of "me drawing them" - I only have sketch concepts rn.

Event auras, like the one just added, will be different, and will represent aspects of the season/holiday.
The Aura of Halloween contains bats, pumpkins and small witches potions, floating around your creature!
[please don't drink those, we don't know if it's safe.]

Hey, hope ya don't mind me asking, do you have a preferred nickname for me to use to log the items in the inventory? [the lil spreadsheet the species uses]. I just like asking people in case they change usernames often/have a main nickname they fall back on [like me & "Error"]/etc.

I know I previously specified species purchases but i suppose gaining items also counts as something i'd need a nickname/inventory name for [considering it's linked to the species n stuff]

Once that's sorted i'll do the little roll for the loot!

Quote from Levels? Stats?When a Death Cat is hatched, they are assigned random "stat values" between 3-5. These affect different things - Stamina and Luck affect both Battling and Exploring, the other 3 stats only affect battling.
For Exploring:
Stamina gives a % chance that for every adventure [1 = 5 items] a Death Cat does, they might get a bonus one for free! [so instead of 5 (25) attempts at gathering loot, you might get 8 (40)!]
Luck increases the chance of your Death Cat finding rarer items/potions/skull fragments.
For Battling:
Health is the amount of HP your Death Cat has. If it reaches 0, the Battling Simulation is ended and they must take some time to recover.
Attack is their Minimum and Maximum "attack" rolls. It, combined with the enemies defence roll, decides if your Death Cat hits and how much damage it deals.
Defence is their Minimum and Maximum "defence" rolls. It, combined with the enemies attack roll, decides if your Death Cat takes damage from your opponent that turn.
Luck is a % chance for a Critical Hit, increasing the damage of the attack it rolls on.
Stamina gives your Death Cat a chance to dodge an attack that otherwise bypassed their defences.

How do you increase stats?
Once a Death Cat levels up, they get +1 to ALL of their stats, as well as getting +3 stat points that can be spent by their owner on any of that Death Cat's stats of the owner's choosing - though those extra 3 can be reset + respent whenever the owner changes their mind. They can't be assigned to other Death Cats though, obviously.

Why doesn't exploring give EXP?
I'm planning on tying EXP to battling, if I can get it working! It'll take a lot more back end testing though, I'm afraid. Though some stats do affect exploring, their main purpose is to support the future battling mechanic.

How many levels are there?
6, technically, with the levels being as follows.
All Death Cats start at Level 1 with a 3 EXP requirement to level up
At Level 2 they require 7 EXP to level up
At Level 3 they require 11 EXP to level up
At Level 4 they require 15 EXP to level up
At Level 5 they require 20 EXP to level up
After surpassing Level 5 they reach Level EX - Max level. They cannot gain anymore EXP after that.
In total a Death Cat needs to gain 56 EXP Points to go from Level 1 to Level EX.
As for anyone wondering why "Level EX" instead of "Level 6" or "Max Level", thank the LCorp levelling system for employees. It's 1-5 [I to V] and then EX past that.

How does energy regen?
Energy regenerates +1 every reset, meaning if you send a Death Cat on a full set of 5 adventures, the next day they'll only be able to do 1 discounting stamina boosts unless potions are applied or there was a boost that refreshed energy [would be announced in the shop]

Hey this Death Cat has a couple more trait categories than an older one?
Yeah, that happens! I didn't plan out exactly how many trait categories I wanted from the start, I got the bulk of them down and released, but then later on decided I wanted to add new categories. You can always update previous ones, it'll just be rated as a "nothing" trait with a C rarity.

About Death Kittens Traits
Death Kittens do not express all traits that you'll find in the adult form. They only show if their future feet has claws or not, different tail traits, most skull traits, and if they have horns or not. Other traits grow in/manifest as the kitten grows up, which is why you don't get a traitlist til they're an adult.
Not ALL mentioned traits are shown, though. Event Epic Traits [skeletal tail/pumpkin skull from Halloween] don't show in Kitten form, so it's basically a surprise if they have event traits!
There is also one non-event epic skull trait that doesn't show - floating skull variants. Lorewise the Death Kittens just don't possess enough magic ability for that trait to manifest, yet.

Eye Rarities..?
These are trickier than traits. They're basically based on the amount of detail put in the eye, with a few exceptions. Number of colors, pupil shapes, and even placement of certain colors can affect this. Below is essentially a checklist I use to decide rarity. If it fits any criteria of a higher rarity, it assumes that rarity. Skull-shaped white pupil with black sclera and no iris? still rare even if most of it fits in common

+1 Rarity means: if an eye's colors/patterns would usually make it common, but you add glowing, it'd be uncommon. Same up to rare. You cannot increase the eyes to epic, though.


Do Death Cats have Tongues?
Depends! I felt like it would be a bit silly to limit this to specific traits/rarities [and difficult to include ref-image-wise because of the position of the skull] - so it's up to each user to decide on if they do and what said tongues look like. Whether they be misty/smoky, or more "normal"-looking tongues, or slimy, or none at all, whatever you feel fits your critters the best!

What does the Potion of Mutation actually do?
Well, first off to briefly explain the breeding mechanic: It takes the traits of both parents and randomly chooses one or the other with the %s of a trait to pass being based on rarity [for example, a common trait vs a rare trait the common trait is more likely to pass, but the rare trait still has a chance!]. But if you add a potion of mutation into the mix, it gives a chance for the child to get traits neither parents have!
For example, lets say you pair two death cats: One has fire wings, one doesn't have wings.
Ordinarily, the child would get either fire wings or no wings. With a potion of mutation they might end up with an entirely different set of wings! Maybe they'll end up with small bat wings, or rose wings.
This affects all slots, including slots where both parents lack a mutation [for example if neither parent has an aura trait, the kid might end up with one anyway].
It's all a bit of extra RNG in the end, to spice up pairings that bit more.
