"And I'm Hiraeth," a boy says, poking his head around from a nearby alley where the dog came from. His voice matches with the second one, the one that had said 'sorry' for some reason. At first glance, he really doesn't seem out of the ordinary, until the hand clutching the corner twitches slightly as he sheathes his claws. "What are you all do out here this time of night? Don't you know there's monsters lurking about?"

A dog comes skidding into the courtyard, stopping for a quick moment. It's a rather large dog, likely a doberman, and the menacing eyes and spit-covered fangs would ward off any unsuspecting person. But it's not in the best of shape - thin, shallow scratches are scatter across it's back, and it seems to be favoring one paw. With a swift growl at them, it scampers off, tail between it's legs.

	"Black!" A voice yells, not too far in the distance, breaking the layer of calm that coats the mostly quiet town. A dog begins to bark, another joins in a moment later. They both quiet quickly. After your talk with the disembodied voices, the deep blue-black around you dissolves until you're standing in a courtyard. It's nighttime - the street lamps cast faded yellow circles of light on the worn cobblestones below to push the darkness away, and a symphony of owls, crickets, and other unidentified creatures greets yours ears. Others stand with you in the courtyard, unharmed. As if they were still alive. No inhabitants of the town seem to be out, like there's something to be feared in the night. They are right, of course. There is now.

For good reason too, she comes running back a minute later to walk by her masters side, giving a volley of excited barking as a greeting. "Something up, girl?" Kace asks.
